Hello peeps ,
Another sunday for us to pass by , and i'm sitting right infront of my computer.
I wanna take this chance to say thank you to the admins of this website "www.sc2sea.com" who have contributed a lot of their time to make this website from nothing to FREAKINNGGGG AWESOMMEEE !!!!!

Since the day i started to play starcraft 2 , i expected that i won't play this game for long because none of my hometown's friends seem to be interested in this game.
then one day , i forgot how i knew it , but i was given the information about a website name "www.sc2sea.com" , it is made for players from all over the SEA.
I checked out the website and it's okay at that moment.
Time pass by , and i occasionally check this website , new members starting to pop up , making new threads , admins improving the website consistenly , mini tournament started to pop up , ppl started to yell at each other (yes , i refer to the smack talk thread) , and etc etc.
Eventhough i never met anyone of you guys in real life , u guys never stop answering my doubt , my thread , and giving me advice and all the friendly things.

That is why , one more time , i would like to thank the admins for making such a WONDERFUL FREAKING AWESOME WEBSITE !!!
Without u guys , maybe my passion of starcraft 2 would have run out and i would not have met all these amazing peeps !!

In my opinion, this site is not very user friendly. There are better StarCraft sites in terms of design. Here you can find Turkish Community page: http://www.starcraftturkiye.com .

So you utilise the website that is given to you and its services as a privilege, and then continue to say bad things about it while advertising other 'better' websites. I can almost guarantee that this other website doesn't have a community like ours.

Next time you have a negative opinion about something, I personally think you should turn it into constructive criticism rather than slander. You could have done this far better by making suggestions for the improvement of the site, aiming to help make this community a better place to participate in.

I've basically posted my reply to yigit and the reason for me hitting him with an infraction, something which I rarely do on this site. It's quite abit on negativity on this highly positive and feel good thread, but I guess I'm just saying the nasty stuff that perhaps no one else has ever told him right to his face. So apologies in advance, and no matter what anyone says this site and everyone who has contributed anything at all to it is awesome, and no way in hell anyone who thinks otherwise can take that away from you guys.

I've given you an infraction and directed you directly to read my post immediately after this because I'd like a chance to explain why.

True, as much as you may have good intentions in trying to advise the site admins to improve on the GUI of this site to make it more user friendly, but it could have been done with more taste and more importantly in a totally separate thread.

This thread was made by someone who was happy with his time here and as a result, posted a thread to his gratitude and acknowledging the hard work everyone has put into this site for the enjoyment of the community.

All you have done in your first post, was to come shit on this parade.

Secondly, what truly ticked me off was you downright stupid comment towards Paroxysm with the words "Lol" and assuming he had a bad laddering day and that as I see it, is absolutely disrespectful.

Also, Paroxysm is a much better respected member of our community than you are, and if you can't already take a hint from 2 people telling you otherwise, and a ton of negative rep after your first post, let this infraction be your last and final warning.

Because honestly, I'm sure crappy GUI or not, this site will survive the lack of someone like you, but I'm not sure if you'd gain anything by pissing off more people on this site.

Credit where its due, admins have done an amazing job of bringing the SEA community together to one place, which is the hardest thing to do about a site like this. I have nothing but props to them and this site alone is pretty much directly thankful for the huge growth of the SEA scene in the past year.

From a design point of view though, I've never particularly found it that appealing. The front page and general design has always struck me as kinda, 'blurgh', and the forums having giant avatars and a rep system that is begging to be abused (Fully aware of the irony that im at the forefront of that abuse) make it kinda crap.

Basically I agree with Yigit, the site itself, is not that fantastic, however to post ONLY that is nitpicking dramatically, because what this site has done for the SEA community was a complete necessity in terms of growth and progress of our scene. And it's gotten much, MUCH better as the site has continued to grow as well.

News on the front pages, easy to spot calendar, and you can read forums that is basically all you need.

As Paroxysm said, we have a huge community around and that is what this site is trying to bring, rather than a user friendly experience when your bored at work

Oh, sc2sea site is very nice.
The community is nice, unless you srsly piss off TA and get e-molested daily by many many pigTerrans, imbaToss and a few peaceful-playful Zergs.

The main thing about sc2sea is that it gets everyone in touch outside of the game client itself. When people are in-game they're generally in a more competitive mood so meeting people outside of that environment allows people to discuss things freely and without interrupting a gaming session.
Good site in my opinion, does heaps for the community.

Yeah I agree with Badger. It's a good site because there is a huge community of players and regular activity and tournaments going on. It is well organized too. It takes a while to get used to for new players though.

Never liked the cartoony stuff from the first day it was introduced, and as for the layout, I don't think it's that hard to handle unless you're above 50 , after a few days it should become intuitive. (I'm not saying it's not ugly or badly designed I wont fall into that debate, I'm just saying it's not THAT bad)

But yea the main reason I'm still here is the community, I love doing stuff for and interacting with the community, and it is the community that propels me to keep contributing in whatever way I can. Go sc2sea!

when i first saw this thread i was like "oh no not again" thinking it was some pple protesting because i just 3-day temp banned a few who posted benji memes which was starting to chain (that crosses the line yo dont wish to encourage that behaviour on this site) but phew it was actually an appreciation thread!

yeap its the other admins as well who do an amazing job from dox whos everywhere at once to the consistent tournament hosters eddie/paroxysm/baka that help make this place so enjoyable. also the help of members of the community at random times some that come to mind are doctor, welshy, derpy (images), meatex(video) and paperclip (coding) really help

As said, don't underestimate the support of the silent majority. The thread of Doctor might have been pure coincidence with those events, or not ...

This site is probably the better in the world for SC2 (with TL), except maybe in Turkey. It has a "community" and friendly aspect Team Liquid Forum has not.

You're the reason N°1 of the quality of this place, then the management and the active coaches, then us all, then Targa.

Edit: Targa left at the end to make some humor. From all the people here, he is the least to think it is serious coming from me.

I've got to say, this website, for a website that is purely done by people who aren't getting paid for it has to be as good as it gets. I mean yes of course there are better sites that are more updated, have larger audiences, and maybe better organization than sc2sea.com. But so what? These great guys took initiative to even start this community site for the whole of SEA!!! Of course it isn't as big as teamliquid or stuff, but its definitely getting there! More players from other regions are starting to recognize the power of SEA players all because those SEA players got to climb up and work on something that was purely built off this one place.

Thanks for everything! I can say behalf on myself as a caster that this place has given me great support, it was through here that I got all my friends, my clan, and my hobby for casting. Kudos to the people who are in here, who contribute here, and most of all who created this place!

I do like the site, its been very good at keeping what I think quite a tight-knit community in regards to everyone knowing eachother

To be honest, I dont mind the current layout too much at all.
Theres shit like the calendar on the right that doesnt need to be there.
The stuff at the bottom part of the left hand collum could be cleaned up a little.

But I like how a lot of stuff is now summarised in +/- boxes under the chat - way easier to see everything that is going on now

Really, the only thing that actually bothers me about the site is that it loads a bit slowly - but I know this problem is well known and was previously (albiet unsuccessfully) addressed, and really I have become used to it regardless :P
