Attention: This is an important message to all ToR and TCP players and witnesses of the BSGCL tournamnent on thursday please read.

Alright, technically Ceephyr is our first "smurfer" if ToR are going to call him that, I'll explain... FYRE wasn't a smurfer, he was simply just a portrait collector eg. collecting solo random wins where he could <---- I did this on NA and Masters and GMs said it was fine due to achievement purposes.

However the FYRE and Ceephyr incident was quite similar and because Clan Clanless has good sportsmanship It was a rematch instead of a very unsportsman like 4-0 favoring ToR.

Keep in mind Ceephyr was 3rd meaning that 4-0 doesnt work logically because 1 person hasn't participated. Making a game an automatic score of 4-0 is just as bad as a smurfer really.

At the end of the day if you don't believe me, I can asure you that anyone could be a smurfer but they could just be trying out new builds etc in the touranaments and seem genuine while in game.

I totally agree with you - about how its harsh to punish the rest of the team because of 1 persons bad doing..
however - Maynarde asked all captains to check their roster for smurfs and said if any were caught there would be punishments for both the player, and the team... The punishment for the team is a 0-4 loss.

While this result is really disheartening for the TCP team and players - please continue your practice and deliver good games for the rest of the league! - you can still make it to the Playoffs!!

Also, FYRE was a smurfer.. Portrait farming is the act of tanking losses to keep you in a lower league so you can get quick and easy wins in order to portrait farm..(time effectiveness - quick losses to stay in low leagues for easy wins.. so every proper game is a win - with 3 second losses) That keeps you in a lower league and thus his skill is well above BSG level...

If I were you I'd be concerned more about other players that were caught for smurfing (but not by their captains so - Syn taking Antanis was the right thing to do) - and no penalty applied - even though the player had played games for their team as a smurfer...
Just sayin.

EDIT- just to clarify, I pointed out Antanis(sp?) as a incident that is NOT smurfing and WAS handled in the correct manner.. By the team captain... unlike other events

Im offended that we're apperently unsportsman like. i had ZERO Imput in the descion.
I brang up the tanked games with Frogmite, and told him exactly what i saw and such, he saw the replays, which i sent him.

He left Maynarde a message about it, i heard back today that Ceephyr was banned from BSGCL and that ToR were given the 4-0, so that either means that was a descion made by Frogmite or Maynarde, because i had NO imput in that result.

Tanking games is CONSIDERED smurfing, Maynarde put in mesaures that would affect players and teams more then start of the season, because of the influx of smurfs. If teams were caught with a player smurfing. regardless if they knew.

Maynarde ALSO gave a chance for players to go through players and let anyone with a suspcious match history and inform admins and remove players BEFORE they played a game, WITHOUT suffering consquences.

Sorry you feel that way, but we've had a MASSIVE increase of smurfs, we HAVE to be strict on any player caught playing whos a smurf (Or who the admins consider a smurf from the evidence we have seen), Examples NEED to be made of anyone who smurfs and teams caught with a smurf, to evenutally rid BSGCL of them.

Oh, on that, if one MY players was counted as a smurf after games, i would give the other team the 4-0, because it would be technically cheating.

On the Artanis situation i'd like to point out, the only games he played were played BEFORE he tanked games, as soon as i saw the tanked games from 2 days ago, i told him he's not allowed to play and instantly removed him off of the team.

As I said above, the 4-0 was not what ToR was asking for. Once something was noticed the games were viewed by a large number of people (within both clans and out of clan) to see if a conclusion could be found. Whether it was known this player was smurfing or not, the entire outcome of the series was ruined because of the unfair play.

1. If you want to speak to the admin no need to write a thread to the whole world.
2. It is the second time in 4 games that TCP have an irregular player, smurf or whatever.
3. The decision has been taken by the admins, not by ToR.
4. It is better to keep low profile when his team has a smurf in it.

Instead of whinning i would have apologized to ToR and bsgcl admins that spend a lot of their free time to organize a competition, that some players are trying to ruin the spirit.
So now we grow up, we go back to training and try to win the remaining of our games.

Can we close this thread as the issue must be discussed between team TCP and the bsgcl admins only.

closed as requested. happy to see bsgcl is in such great hands with maynarde and frogmite

i hope this is a lesson to all team managers/captains to ensure your player is legit, if not your team will be the one who ends up suffering. we can't be lenient to smurfs because it spoils the whole spirit of the event as well as the other teams fun who did absolutely nothing wrong. having a rematch just penalises them for nothing when they made the effort to show up etc, so do your part and make sure your players are legit!
