Watching Sweden Idol and XfactorUK at the moment, some of these singers are so high level its crazy. If this were battle.net, these guys would be in the grand master league. world idol contestants would be in the pro league. american idol/au idol would be diamond. korean superstar would be silver and singapore idol wont even be copper they will be unranked and getting stomped by everyone in the practise league

anyway sharing this with you guys who love these type of talent shows but otherwise would not have known about them cause its pretty obscure i.e not televised anywhere in asia

Yuri Naumov, the pioneer of Russian blues. Not as classic as BB King, but he keeps things rolling for sure. Saw him live in Boston 3 years ago, was stunned, and I have a spanish acoustic guitar with his autograph. He is the man, he is pure awesomeness, I'm struggling to learn his style. Can play some of his songs, not as technical as him though, but getting there. Just thought I could share something interesting ^^

Probably my favourite song. If you want to listen to a great album, listen to 'Ghost' by devin townsend. You have to listen to the whole thing on non-shuffle to appreciate it though, but it's worth it. The genre of ghost is probably ambient with a hint of rock for the record.

Personally when i ladder, i prefer non-lyrical music. So yes i chose to listen to more techno oriented music. I like peaceful music still, so as many of you probably know these songs are quite good if you want that:

Terry Bozzio: One of my greatest inspirations as a drummer. Though this isn't his most difficult or technical works it highlights his very animated playstyle.

FZ: Straight from the sixties all the way through to 1993 where he died tragically from Prostate cancer. The guy is an absolute icon for any music listener. He incorporates comedy into his wide catalog of music. Here he plays straight out rock but has done many different genres over his career -
Jazz, Funk, Pop, Gospel, Classical, Gospel, Dance / Disco. Read up on this man if you don't know him already; very controversia, artistic man.

Dear SC2SEA Users,

If you truly care about what music I am currently listening to then I would be more then glad to share the links that are on youtube. I'd just like to say right here that I listen two different kinds of music for different reasons entirely. Due to me not being raised up in a house where korean nor japanese was spoken at all I do not have the luxury (yet!) to speak and understand those languages. So when I listen to K-Pop and J-Pop 95% of the time I go by the tempo and the beat of the song and how it feels. I do this because I really cannot understand the song which I think it very effective way when I am feeling peppy and awesome I put some K-Pop and J-Pop on. However that is not to say I discourage non-native fluent speakers not to listen with their own translation. I think lyrics have a very powerful meaning but I also believe the sound of a song is what gives the overall tone or mood of the song which is why music is different from poetry.

Just like I was saying above. I believe lyrics have a very powerful meaning. That is why the second kind of music is just American music in general. My English or American music likes are really alternative rock, pop and Jazz however Jazz is for the feeling of the song.

Okay if you read this entire two paragraph letter then I am sorry to make you read though this entire thing. The whole reason was because I wanted to lift and concerns of my music habits because I do indeed listen to lyrics and the sound and beat of the song. They are both very important to me!

My favorite J-Pop (Japanese Pop) song would be Sorashido(ソラシド) by GReeeeN

While on the subject of J-Pop songs I think it is important to show off two of the most popular GReeeeN songs. These songs are a bit slower then Sorashido (ソラシド)

There most famous song which was on the top of Japanese music charts for 2009 and 2010 is Kiseki (キセキ)

Alright; now that were are pretty much done with the J-Pop and GReeeeN I believe it is time to move two more artists: Kandy (糖妹) and SNSD (소녀시대). I guess we will start with the one C-Pop (Chinese Pop) artist.

Kandy (糖妹) all I can find on her is this one song. However because I can understand this song somewhat of my moderate understanding of Mandarin Chinese and my like for Jazz is a very good combo for me! Alright enough talking here it is; Pink Girl by Kandy (糖妹)

Now for SNSD (소녀시대) which most of everyone knows about. They were one of the first mainstream popular K-Pop internationally and still continues to be super popular. If you haven't seen them before well here is your chance. Now me being a devoted fan in the US I obviously have no idea what the lyrics mean but the peppiness, sweetness, kind, fun and playful style of many of their songs make a very big connection with me and my personality. Just to note if you don't like the style I just describe as, as of late they have been producing more hip and hop style songs that seems to be a more serious mood and is geared towards an older audience I believe. I could list out 30 or so songs by them but I will restrain myself to 3 songs.

The first song of SNSD (소녀시대) i'd like to share is 무조건 해피엔딩 (Stick Wit U). Again just repeating myself this song has a very peppy feeling to it which always puts me in a very pleasant mood

Yes I know it is the Japanese version however there is something when it is sung in Japanese it sounds so much better and smoother. Alright, all you South East Asians I don't know how the US music is looked upon or even listened to internationally. However with my expertise on Chinese pop culture much of the music listened to in Chinese is American Music. So I believe you must listen to artists to some American Artists.
