BSG Clan League All Stars Invitational 1
SEE SEASON 1 THREAD AND RESULTS HERE

With Season 1 of the SC2SEA BSGCL having drawn to a close, its come to the attention of the admins that the tournament has failed to weed out the single strongest player in the competition.

To that end the BSGCL All Stars Invitational was born!

Information

Ro8 1v1 Tournament, Bo3 until final (Bo5)
Participation by invite only, only the top 8 players of the BSGCL Season 1 will be invited
To be played on 29/09/2011 (Thursday), starting 8:30pm AEST.
Prize: A cash prize sponsored by yours-truly will be up for grabs!

Format & Maps
On the play day players will meet up in chat channel BSGCL on Battle.net SEA to advise admins they are online and ready to play.

Quick note, players who were promoted outside of Bronze, Silver or Gold since Season 1 started will unfortunately be unable to participate.

Admins will invite the players based on their stats in the BSGCL Season 1. We will also only be inviting players that are Bronze, Silver or Gold ONLY. Players that were Plat at the end of the BSGCL Season 1 (regardless of stats) won't be invited, and are obviously not going to be in BSGCL Season 2 either.

Hey man, the list isn't final. Check the "not finalised" part. And if you're talking about Nuisance or FantasyBoy, they're DEFINITELY invited so keep checking to see the list changes.

Also, so many people that have taken wins in the BSGCL have been Plat. Kind of annoying, but this is a BSG invitational not a BSGP one.

will the lovely frogmite and his as lovely co-caster maynarde stream the games? I for one would love to see the games of these players, as I have played with some of them and would want to see them perform as good or even better than before!

I spoke to Formina a couple days ago, he mentioned something about being able to reschedule a tennis game but if he really can't make it then that's ok.

Sigh, wish I had been hinted to this before the day it was actually on. Sucks to be a New Zealander when the game starts at 10:30pm over here, with exams early the next day. If there were other people that you wanted to invite / could sub in, message me some how or another some time tonight. I may show, if you don't sub me out, but at this point I'd rather not just cause of my situation

other wise I'd love to be in this.

Wish I knew earlier, would have tried arranging a different day or something. Sorry guys.

Quite annoyed actually, Olivia knew about this a week ago, yet I wasn't even hinted. From what I can tell from Interdictions forum post (at btd) today, he didn't know this was on today nor that Olivia had already announced herself unable to attend.

I might be tempted to hang in if it was made 8pm AEST, but wouldn't be phased if that wasn't possible.
Is the format Bo3 or Bo1?

Still many cheers for organising this for us BSG newbs

Hey there, from what i remember of the skype convosation Edarus, Maynarde and I were having last night, i do believe it's a bo3. Also, not sure if it'd be possible to change it to 8AEST (im not admin for this one, Edarus is), since it'd be effectively a last minute change.

Hey, sorry about all that man but it was rediculously hard to get a hold of players lol. There was some bad assumption on my behalf as well. When Edarus came up with this idea, we were (and still are) really excited about it and also assumed that the players that were in the BSGCL had SC2sea accounts. This wasn't the case, hardly any of the players we invited did in fact. You had an account but your last account activity was back in April so I assumed you were inactive on this site so didn't PM you. I have a few clan managers on my Skype including Interdiction and assumed he used it and I could chase him up for his players that were invited.

I added everyone that was invited to my Bnet friends list and tried to catch players while they were online, but only managed to catch a couple. The ones I caught online said "maybe" or "no". You hadn't logged on for over week so it was hard to get a hold of you as well. When we made this tournament and thread 2 WEEKS AGO we assumed players and managers would see it and get in contact with us / confirm. This wasn't the case either. We even kept bumping it regularly.

TL;DR We're sorry we couldn't get a hold of all the players!

Next time we run one of these I personally will have less assumptions, and I will try harder to get in contact with players (even apparently inactive ones) immediately instead of being slack and waiting until a week before the tourney to catch people.

Yes, the format is Bo3 until finals which will be Bo5. And we would have been happy to discuss time / date changes but apparently players didn't know this existed until recently lol >_<; We will just have to continue with whoever arrives and organize a bracket ASAP.

The entire event, given its 8 players, I can't see going beyond 2 hours unless theres some insane macro games lol.

I reckon it'd be at least 2 hours judging by my experience in the clan league. Remembering that that for me quickly racks up to midnight on a weekday. That is of course presuming I get to the final

Hey mate, I think the initial reason it was gonna be 8:30 AEST was because of Frogmite (the caster) needing to rush home from work to make the 8pm AEST usual start time of BSGCL. I'll get in touch with him later this evening and see if we can't change up the time, as I agree it would run a bit late for the NZ boys and girls.

As I said, as long as people are online we'll start it up regardless of time.
If everyones online at 7PM then we shall start then.

The 8:30PM timeslot was simply to alleviate pressure on people who work later hours / have to drive a fair bit to get home / have other commitments (ie, kids, a ball-and-chain, etc).

So yeah, don't panic, just be online when you can and when everyones ready we'll fire it up! =)

Yeah we were checking to see if she would be however due to the night being pushed back a week and due to Formina (her replacement) being unavailable.

Not looking good for a full bracket... hmm, if we don't have all 8 we could do a 6-man tournament, or fill the gaps with any BSGers who are online haha.
