mana loves the fast robo into collosi and a quick 2nd expansion for a macro game, and this style might be really strong against glades mass roach / infestor combi. from the reps ive seen vs stephano, you cannot stop him from taking his third with roach/infestor and if you do you just lose
better to macro up and take your 4th base quick while feigning pressure (like how stephano won game 1). maybe tricky roach into mass muta play will work too off of 4 fast bases, since he always has little stalkers to go along with his collosi tech rush at the start. I think another counter to it is ling/roach + a few infestors into broodlord roach. or maybe that infestor / roach / baneling drop play.. not sure tho my zerg is like silver league and im just theory crafting!
I don't think the games between MG and HuK were bad at all... remembering that this is the first time they have met, plus one of the first games. First game sure they were summing each other up and MG had opportunities but there were still unknowns that may have made him hold back. Either way he was playing solid and in a commanding fashion. Game 3 - the dt rush wasnt failed at all, the DS was cancelled and the TC was used for blink... MG did damage anyway in delaying the expo. There was a solid protoss defence and they were playing cross locations so that game made total sense imo.

my predictions:
MC 2-1
Glade 2-1
Socke 2-0
Nechio 2-1
Not expanding or droning up with total map control, delaying tech to do nothing in the middle of the map (50 drones and getting hive 20 minutes in when unable to pressure?) - yeah, that was bad and pretty ugly ZvP. However, it is fortunate that Huk played equally bad, spending more effort trash-talking and writing EG than playing Starcraft. Game 1 was a battle of who could float more money.
The general response from TL was wondering if random people were smurfing for it and I agree.
What do you mean by this? I didn't see that on TL. So much to read on TL these days.... 213 pages from an OP of 2 days ago.... damn!
I do agree with your other comment tho, I just didnt think it was as terrible as... say.. cheesing.
The LR thread was treating the games as a joke. I don't expect you to sift 213 pages looking for that part of the thread, though, but if you're reaaaaaaaaally bored...
Hey rather than having to scroll through the chatbox to see the MG discussion, I thought why not start a thread! Keeps everything organized and people can check out info easier and the chatbox may receive less stress than it's getting now haha.
If you have replay/stream links and comments just leave it here! I'm on my smartphone so it's difficult to retrieve info, I'll update this post when I reach home!
Anyway, Game 3 yday Vs Huk was nailbiting! I only tuned in to catch that - how MG seemed to have the game won then Huk suddenly fights back with that brilliant FF engagement.. Then suddeny out pops a dozen roaches . Then Huk snipes his infestors.. Etcetc
BACK AND FORTH.
And when finally MG made that brilliant final main engagement which he spread his army up oh so perfectly and halved Huk's army.. I was pumpin my fist for him haha.
The MG v HuK games definitely weren't the best in the world, but oh my god. MG vs Tarson was my favourite series of the night. MG's ZvT is gorgeous (I'm comfortable enough with myself to use that word).
I strongly recommend watching game 2 on Terminus. I had a big cheeky grin on my face the whole time.
It was a great game... and I can't believe he rolled over Tarson. MrMouz.Mana will be a tough opponent to face though since his ZvP has improved a lot despite it being his weakest matchup. His training with Stephano really showed in Assembly so I feel that MG wins 2-1.
I think what made his games better for me is that.. He is Glade! Our very own SEA talent! This pride made me enjoy (and maybe imagine?) the games to be more exciting
Thanks for the link! I'll be watching them when I get home for sure
Watched the first two games vs huk on stream and just watched the replay for the 3rd - crazy game. Being a protoss player I loved how relentlessly huk was harassing glade with his stalkers, but the roaches regenerating health whilst burrowed didn't make it a huge impact for glade.
Rewatching the Glade V Huk games I think the commentary skewed my perceptions quite a bit. The third game was of a much higher standard than most are giving it credit for, game was on a knife's edge the whole way through.
What I thought was timidity on the stream now seems like patience and good game sense.
Game 1 against Tarson was interesting - no idea what Tarson was thinking with that weird reaper expand. It's countered so effectively by Glade's textbook bling bust style. Game 2 was awesome, Tarson was so well prepared for Glade's muta harrass but nowhere near prepared for the inevitable brood lords!
Whenever I 2 rax fast expand vs. a good zerg I feel behind the whole game (unless I seriously luck out and do more damage than I should), and I think the same was true for Tarson in that game.
Glade handled his predictable follow up very well nad took map control. Glade sealed the deal with his mid game counter attack that was very cost efficient and bought him all the time he needed.
Lets start with the WOOT MOONGLADE FIGHTING!
I didnt get to see all the matches but like many said Huk was not at his best. How ever I get the feeling Moonglade actually did a good job at pushing Huk to not play at his best. I think the loss to Moonglade actually was a significant factor in Huk's other losses. Like I said in the stream Chat box Moonglade is a world class player if you dont bring your A game thats not his fault he beats you.
Watching his play last night was like watching a born again zerg. His play was so similar to what we know and love yet so much more powerful. Good to see him playing well. Even his ZvZ looked strong not perfect but a lot stronger than it has in the past.
Will be cheering again for Moonglade! Really hope he wins the tournament. The games between him and Huk had my heart at my mouth and I thought huk had it but moonglade pulled through and took the win.
