Wtf they took Metalopolis out? It was a good map, i don't see the need to take it out. I'd rather switch it for Backwater which i never really liked but nonetheless Slag and Delta gone ^_^ WOOHOO

From the other post , the reasons from blizzard :
Still, there are reasons why we decided to retire Metalopolis for now:
Metalopolis has been around for quite a long time, over a year including beta. We felt that taking it out of the rotation would make some room for variety in the map pool.
Metalopolis suffers balance issues when close spawn positions occur, but becomes too predictable when they are simply disabled. Close positions have been under a lot of discussion lately, and we’re definitely examining better options to allow for random spawn positions across the map pool without also creating too much predictability and vulnerability to proxy rushes.
Overall balance has also proven to be an issue on Metalopolis -- even factoring in close position spawn issues. It’s among the least balanced maps currently in the ladder pool, and along with Scrap Station (also being removed) and Tal’darim Altar, has a heavy (60%+) bias toward zerg at the highest levels of play.
If Metalopolis makes a return to the ladder pool in the future, it will likely receive some balance tinkering, much like that administered to Lost Temple which resulted in the creation of Shattered Temple. In the meantime, we hope that you enjoy the fresh maps that have been added to the ladder pool in Season 3.
I've talked to several people in the hours after S3 started and we have all been getting over 1 second delay. I have no idea why but we're all complaining about how laggy it got. I have no idea what Blizzard did but now my ping is much worse on SEA server compared to NA. Wtf...?

Sucks that Xelanga is the only 1v1 map left in the pool (and we all know it's going at the next map rotation). If it's so hard to balance certain spawn positions and bliz doesn't want to just block close spawns, why not make some sweet 1v1 maps (they can be big!)
Or hell, 1v1v1 would be new and interesting too. I'm sure they could find somewhere to put rocks.
Got placed in Plat again, made my run for Diamond too late, but moved from 30ish up to 14th. not to bad after taking several weeks break, could of been top 8 if not for that.
Goals for season 3 : To get to diamond league
- To enter a few GPD tournies and play well for me
- Execute build orders better
- Watch more of my own replays as well as others
- Learn the other to races builds etc to better prepare for whats coming
Well actually I've no idea if I'm even still Masters after going inactive once I hit Masters, but atm I'm busy with WoW and school so definitely won't have time to play SC2 much, just the occasional game, which I want to play for fun. As such, I don't want the pressure of facing strong Masters players, and won't be able to keep my skills current.
Playing in mid-diamondish would suit the casual play for me, just hover around there ideally to get my average level games. Heck, my skill may even drop so much I may fall to plat! haha.
- Help most of Team HT get to Masters/GM/Diamond
- Masters Top 3 ranked.
- Win an SC2SEA tournament
- Make sure HT win at least 5 SC2SEA tournaments
- Win 5 more clan wars
- Re-evaluate my approach to ladder (see my blog post if you haven't already :P)
- Hit Masters
- Continue to play a couple of games per week throughout the Uni semester
- Win a GPD during the period that I'm not in Masters
well my realistic goal is to get my MMR to masters level so that when S4 comes i go up a rank even though i lose my placement
So far I got moved up to plat in S2 and Diamond S3 lets keep the trend
Season 3 goals:
1) Learn to tap properly
2) Marco better
3) Play more aggressively
4) Get to masters.
I think these are realistic goals for me. I would be so pumped to get to masters.
Placing Diamond this season was an awesome feeling. I finished season1 in bronze. Placed silver season 2, worked my way up to plat and then placed diamond season 3.
Funny, because so did I. I managed to buy sc2 2 days before season 2 started, and after not playing sc2 for a year since beta, I placed in bronze, and next day technically finished s1 in bronze Took me only 2 weeks or so to get to diamond where I belong, but still was funny.
1/. Learn to comfortably play 3+ base macro.
2/. Improve my multi-tasking and battle techniques (i.e. continuing to reinforce, build structures, etc., while engaging).
3/. Hopefully get into the diamond level.
Relearn Zerg and go from Platinum --> Masters. It can be done! I was pretty close to going from Diamond --> Masters before I got sick, and started losing almost every game because of it =(
-Top 16 Grand Master as Random
-Top 3 Control
-More special tactics
-Get 1000+ stream viewers daily
-Justin.tv sponsorship
-Be an iconic figure in the Starcraft II scene
-Win GSL
-Bonjwa 3-10 years
I moved from Gold to Platinum after my placement match, so this season I'm going to set my sights on Diamond. I think I can do it, just need to conquer my orange button anxiety and play more games.
Nice thread-title change Nirv, definitely great for discussion!
As for my S3 goals, a few of them (just briefly, I'll be going more in-depth in a weekly-blog):
Become confident in my own play, thus eliminating the "anxiety" attached to 1v1.
Play & maintain a minimum of 5-10 games per day (when I'm under the pump with RL commitments) and 15-25 on the days where I'm commitment-free.
As a result of point one; improve with each game and climb to high-diamond by the end of S3.
Begin looking at potential clan options & begin flying interstate representing the aforementioned clan in tournaments!
Participate in a tonne of the SC2SEA tournaments!
Continue moderating/loving SC2SEA
That's about it for this season, anything more than the above would be exceptional but I don't want to set unrealistic goals. Hope you all achieve what you set out for yourselves!
Hopefully hit High plat or diamond by the end of the season.
Get used to the layout of my new keyboard...its so... WEIRD.
Join a "clan" or something so i have more practise buddies ^_^
Start casting some stuff with my mate, that said, we're only gold/silver at the moment, but we could cast low level play yeah?

I want to improve enough to get to high diamond and beat a few masters players. Maybe get into masters if the season is long enough!
Learn ZvZ
Use hotkeys for EVERYTHING
And stop making stupid mistakes which make me lose games when Im "ahead"
i.e. dont run my ALL of my infestors into a siege tank line
and remember to put queens on hold position on ramp in ZvZ,

1-Get many wins as each race option as i have 'accidentally' gotten demoted and commenced my portrait farmi *COUGH* I mean transition to Random.
2-Get pikk0n to be my tutor in cheesing and all-ining
3-Beat Zergtastic/SatuSPR for the second time!
'nuff said for this season

Well started out in bronze in december, and managed to get into Diamond before end of S1, stayed in diamond in S2, being 5th in SEA before the ladder reset.
That said, my aims are probably to remain in Masters and push for top 50 Masters in SEA and get my NA account to Masters as well? That said, it will probably be a miracle cos the workload in Med School has been pushed up a notch, so my 2nd aim will be to maintain my skill level while improving my studies haha =) Oh and train more of Time of Rising to gold, platinum and diamond!! =D

Drop hacks, gotta watch out for dem Drop hacks.
For me I won't have any performance objectives. RL gives me enough for my taste.
So what I aim:
Have fun when playing and only fun. Getting better is fun too but that must be secondary. If I don't do that i will simply stop playing and I don't want.
Give quality contribution to SC2 SEA ;
Make 1 or 2 SC2 SEA online tournaments (and any SEA LAN organized in Paris ) ;
Be a participative fan for the streamers I will follow.
Get to atleast diamond by the end of s3, I've been languishing in bsg for far too long. and as I'm doing it, the side quest is to steal YOUR ladder points.
got replaced in sliver...plan to stay there for this season and maybe, just maybe get promo to gold but i'm setting that aside till im sure..oh, and win a CO and BSG tourn! :P
im kinda glad some of the maps are gone cause they were just plain hell for me (ie slag, delta, the 1v1 maps) kinda sad to see metal gone cause tht was a map i kinda enjoyed and if im not mistaken had seen my fair share of memorable wins and lose..backwater is not a bad map (if you pract on wit for 2-5 games) its a map i have most of my wins on :/
havent played on the new maps yet cause my placement match was an easy win over a new player :/ and i had 2/3 walkovers fr the same person ( lol )

NA - ThePandarine.180 :: SEA - ThePandarine.180
Proud to be Nunquam redono, nunquam deditionem
- Take two months holiday in South America - all booked!
- Get back mid-October and get promoted to Silver - yeah go me!
- Play more regularly and keep bonus pool low
- Make it into Gold by the end of the season
- Cast more games
Maybe go 100-0 in 2v2. Doubt that will happen since I haven't played in a month but I guess everyone needs goals. Otherwise I really don't have any reasons to play, I've accomplished everything I wanted to do.
1. Get to top 8 of silver league.
2. Get out of silver league.
3. Get to gold..
When I get to that, I will eat 1 whole friggin thick crust pizza from sbarro and hopefully not die from it.\
I agree with the players who put in scouting and be involved with the community more. Improving scouting is just all around helpful and being involved in this community makes playing all that much fun. Besides those two I have some other goals during S3:
1. Travel around SEA and see what these beautiful countries have to offer (I have Thailand, India, Vietnam and Korea lined up)
2. Get a game of SC2 in the countries I visit (I know we play online, but there's something about actually sitting in a PC cafe surrounded by the country's players)
3. Try and get an understanding of the gaming scene in these countries so I can get a sense of this global community.
4. Interview some gamers and hear what they have to say about SC2

Got alot better at ZvZ - Pass
Hotkeys for everything - Eh, Getting better. I remapped some Infestor control but havnt started using them.
Stop making stupid mistakes - Getting better. Made heaps of mistake last week tho.
Well my goal so far was that when Season 4 starts, I am in gold. Made up this goal when I was Silver just as Season 3 started and for now am in gold, but won't know whether I succeed or not until Season 4 starts =/
Well, I wanted to get masters this season before it started, but that didn't happen. Was inactive for a month or so just after it started. Still got to diamond from plat and am beating masters on ladder/in customs quite a bit more now at least...
So I'll make getting masters my goal for the end of the year. If I practice a bit, I'm confident I can make it happen, too. My TvZ has even been a fair bit better lately.
