Brisbane Elysium Starcraft 2 Tournament 2011

Hey guys, I know it's a little late and it probably took me longer than it needed to but I've finally gotten around to doing my post tourney round-up for my first ever SC2 Lan event. I took along my digital camera and tried to get a couple of photo's. So without further adieu;

I'll take a second here to point out one of the most awesome things (IMO) about Elysium. It has TWO yeah that's right...TWO sound proof booths with about 8 computers in each one. This lent a very professional feel to the final matches as players were separated to prevent screen cheating, noise, etc from interfering with the games.

The players were divided into groups for day one, where the top two players from each group advanced to the Ro16.

The first four groups went ahead and started playing their games, unfortunately the second four groups had to wait a few hours before their matches could begin. I was ok with this since it gave me some time to practice before my matches started. (not that it helped any...) Eventually though the group stages/Ro16 were finished and everyone who made it to the Ro8 was asked to come back the following day.

A little unfortunate to have a WO in the Ro8, but in the famous words of Ned Kelly, "Such is Life"

Overall I would say that the day was an awesome success with a really good turn out. Personally, I had the time of my life, even though I got smashed by Shuffle in the group stages. I made some new Starcraft 2 friends and even discovered that LzHsAint and I went to high school together... So if they decide to hold more of these, and you happen to be in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, drop in and have a game.
