With me being a complete noob at html, I was wondering if someone could post all the ways different htmls here.

I did some forum searching and couldn't find any prior forums on this. Just thought to start one in case some people, like me, don't know how to use html (I'm not even sure if its html).

Btw I'm, talkking about stuff like links, embedding, images. spoilers etc.

I'm pretty sure html is disabled, which is the case on most forums, as things can get awfully messy if people are embedding html in their posts. But really, you can use the bbcode that LennX posted to do nearly everything that you would want to with html

Hence why I made this thread. Hopefully this will make all the article that little bit better.

Yeap cute is correct, html is exploitable and dangerous to allow on forums. That's why we use BBCode which is essentially filtered HTML that the site allows which gets called upon when using the BBCode [] tags.

Two very cool tricks for would-be writers.

1) If you ever wonder what code another writer is using, just click on the "quote" button in their post. It will show all the BB code used in the post, that's all you need to do! It can also very useful to copy templates for regular series. Click quote, copy n paste, update the new details then remove the quote tags and you're done and can make your new post.

2) When copy n pasting from somewhere else or making formatting changes which may require alot of similar repetition, the best and fastest way to do this is to use Notepad and their replace feature (CRTL+H).

For example you copy/paste a 30 name list from another site which says Canada (protoss) (HuK) and want them all to have the sc2sea icons next to their name instead. You would copy the text into notepad then use the feature to replace (protoss) with

iProtoss

same goes for canada. then to get rid of stuff you don't want, for e.g the brackets - replace "(" with "" (i.e nothing just leave it blank to get rid of it)

which gives you HuK

Its done in like 1 min and it saves you a massive amount of time this way. Oh and a list of smilies can be found here
