This is an official announcement regarding the latest smurfing incident on the BSG Open #16.
Do note that:
Anyone caught smurfing (signing up with multiple accounts/playing in a compeition meant for lower leage players when youre overqualified) will be instantly banned. For god's sake grow a pair and learn to compete at your own level.
All banned players will have their bnet accounts blacklisted and will never be allowed to join a tournament held on sc2sea again.
All warned players are one step away from being permernantly banned.
Verdict:
There will be a permanent ban given to TkShadow from sc2sea.com.
There will be a final warning given to WonTon and HairyRussian. If they were to cause any more trouble in SC2SEA tournaments in the future all their achievement badges will be stripped and they will be permanently banned from the site as well.
Any attempt to make new accounts and repeat the same will result in a IP address ban which will not let you even view the site in the future.
The verdict was reached after consultation with various Admins including BakaInu, Zergtastic, cure and nirvAnA.
1. TkShadow had smurfed in BSG Open #11 and was disqualified in the past with a ban disqualifying him from joining any future BSG. He first arose suspicion and was caught during the game with VinLikeCow by me, having roughly 180 apm in a zvz game utilizing the apm without much spam. He also had a good macro by keeping his minerals below 300 during the duration of the game and his micro is well above BSG level, verging into master level micro by microing each zergling in his arsenal of roughly more than 20 zergling to receive minimal losses while keeping up with his apm and macro. Although the actual replay was not saved the witness includes Zergtastic who is the co-host of BSG alongside me. And more importantly, the next point has the conclusive evidence.
2. He then returned to smurf in BSG Open #16 (Link to bracket below) after winning the GPD (Link to bracket below) disregarding his past ban from joining any future BSG. He made a new sc2sea account but used the same Battle.net accounts that were used in BSG Open #11, #16 and in GPD Open #05. In view of this, I had immediately disqualified him from the tournament.
3. After his disqualification, he along with HairyRussian and WonTon would later cause more trouble and disrupt the BSG tournament by spamming and confusing the BSG players by giving false instructions in the chat. The battlenet chat is included below.
It is sad that higher league players who are unable to win anything at their level have to stoop so low and try to ruin everyones experience just so they can have a chance to win something.
We at sc2sea want the BSGs to remain a smurf free environment where lower league players can have fun playing with players of simlilar skill levels in a competitive environment. We will continue to try our best to provide the best experience for all our site members, and would also appreciate assistance from the BSG communinty to keep our community a safe and fair one.
You are welcome to send me PMs if you have any proof or suspect smurfers.
Regards,
BakaInu

The second announcement will be for another person that has been using multiple accounts to play in the BSG. We have confirmed through various methods that its the same person playing on the following accounts: MrNayNay, deniAble, MKP, BoxeR.
Verdict:
All his accounts have been permanently banned from SC2SEA.com.
How we came to this conclusion:
-All his replays were checked and we found that hotkeys, APM, and playstyle were the same.
-We have more than 2 people that can prove that all those accounts are indeed played by the same person.
-IP logs on the site from these users are identical.
He has been caught smurfing before, and has been warned for it. Hence, we have decided to perma-ban him from SC2SEA.
Mrnaynay/Boxer was first noticed for starting a series of poor topics on the forums and one line replies with no effort. We sent him PMs telling him how he could improve and were pretty lenient and gave him a chance to grow. However, he took our kindness for granted and even went on to do such immoral things like smurfing in lower league tournaments, even entering them with multiple accounts just so he could have more chances and an easier bracket, and at the same time making other players needless wait for no-shows.
We definitely do not welcome such a person in our community.
EDIT: Confirmed that he's been smurfing for 3 accounts.
We are still working on whether deniAble is a smurf, but he will remain banned for now.
EDIT: KingLeonidas is also the same person.

I think that these punishments were definitely justified. It is important that these disrespectful players be made into an example to prevent further smurfing issues, especially in such small, community based tournaments like the BSG.
He actually isnt naynay. But naynay said hes his friend. So I think naynay was actually smurfing on that account. I remember coaching deniAble a few weeks ago, but he was a zerg. I think he then played terran, but I cannot recall him being THAT good.
Basically we'd be unsure forever apart for the fact naynay said he was his friend, so we can assume naynay was playing on the account.
I hope some people can finally realise that not only is it an extremely low thing to do, but what would you be trying to prove by smurfing? I hope the amount of smurfing will drop significantly in the future.

Hey Guys! i apologise for my reckless behaviour, but my opinion of tkshadow still stands, as i am his teacher.
Hm, so you apologize then make an excuse for your behaviour? Im confused, I didnt read anything about your opinion of tkshadow, only that you didnt want him DQ'd. ;S
hi guys. a new person here.from my bronze view i think deniable is a platinum player. and i haved checked his profile and he is on a win streak. funny thing is... he plays zerg on ladder but competes using terran?!
I hope... Fingers crossed in many many ways that deniable is NOT boxer... Because that would mean that I lost to him in the finals of my FIRST BSG and then later in the semis of my most recent BSG. :'( That's the saddest 2 BSGs of my life. HAHA! The 2 times I got past the second round I end up losing to Boxer? That's just embarrassing on my part.

how many BSGs do u plan on playing ?
until u finally win one and then u start laddering?
until u finally win one and then u start laddering?
lol jokes
I've been laddering. I'm just a more active 2v2 'ladderer'. Also, I go on these extremely long breaks from starcraft which sets me back a lot. You'd see me disappear for a month and coming back all rusty... I've only been in 5 BSGs despite participating in my first AGES ago.
hmmm... i think tht deniable isnt mrnaynay. cos he plays zerg. i asked deniable and he told me tht it was indeed him himself playing in the bsg and not naynay. he said he trained in kr serer and hit silver there using terran. and now he gets accused of smurfing. plus he showed me his kr acc. which is true. plus he said at the day of bsg he was at naynay house and he wants to apologize to spartaz for telling him he doesnt know naynay cos he was afraid tht spartaz would kick him out of the team. damn... if his explanation was true... then naynay and deniable seems to be innocent parties.

Not as innocent it seems. The thought of being together with a smurfer. 'Birds of the same feather flock together' heard of that? And if he was at naynay's house, more the possibility of naynay playing than him. Excuses, spartaz should be sad that he got someone like him to join the team. But it's not spartaz fault so deniAble the thought itself is bad.

This was the reason that i heard previously from BoxeR, oGs, MKP, and now deniable. So, do 4 people live together in the same house, with the same internet and the same ip with the same hotkey and pretty similar apm? Shocking, I know! They must be clones of the same person! Ban hammer for cloning himself!!

Nice try, but because of this screenshot, whatever you've said just became invalid.
EDIT: Adding this screenshot to post on page one.

Sounds like a pretty lame attempt at covering his tracks. Playing bronze league in Korea isn't going to improve your game any more than playing bronze league in SEA.

You'd be surprised, when i was doing my placements on KR i encountered some well refined cheese builds, very strong, but still thats all they do.
So TLO, a Grandmaster, copied Deniable's 7 rax build?
Wow, I have lost so much respect for TLO at NASL now.
Did I say he invented it? Maybe I should have been more careful with my words so somebody wouldn't seek an opportunity to wave their engorged starcraft 2 dick in my face. Stay classy cruxis for you too
Should make an SC2SEA hall of shame with known cheaters or douchebags so new clans forming can educate themselves instead of picking up a player that may ruin their team in the long run.

Pretty sure you wouldn't want that, because you'd be Rank 1.
I really don't get why someone would try to win BSG again having won it already.... :S It should be time to move on to higher honours and compete with the better players out there. So what if you get smashed badly? That's expected but at the same time, you're in the same league (having only been one league below previously) so the difference in skills should not be that massive and isn't insurmountable given time. It's not like blizzard is throwing you straight into the cauldron to face off against masters and grandmasters alike.
As for prize money, pokerface. THere is the BSG cup now and that involves prize money. I haven't checked who the sponsors are but the next 6 BSG finalists will get the opportunity to compete in the BSG cup for the chance to win some cash.
May I also suggest Aeropunk to be the one who replaces deniAble in the BSG Cup seeing that Aero was the winner of BSG #15 and apparently isn't allowed to compete in future BSGs having been a winner. Just thought that it wouldn't be fair on him having JUST missed out on the BSGs that would count towards qualification for the BSG Cup.

If you had read the post, you would see that theres a part that states 'ALL PREVIOUS WINNERS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THE NEXT 4 BSG'S TO QUALIFY FOR THE BSG CUP'

Hey! I liked Pikk0n's idea lol! Hopefully I can win another BSG anyway, or just get my finger out and get promoted to Platinum in the mean time.
Reminds me of those people that play wow only to camp the corpses of much lower level players and repetitively kill them to try and feel cool. Usually the kid who got pushed around at school and figures pushing people around on the internet will make him feel better.
I dun get it. I know smurfers r bad but shudnt they be given 3 chances? I dunno but thats what i think. Still for the case of deniable, after chatting wif him i really do feel its really him playing.

i believe the only person we have IP banned was Zan because he delibretly started making new accounts with zan in them and there was no improvement in his behaviour, so it was much easier to just IP ban him then to keep banning his new accounts.
Its sad because there seems to be some good in BoxeR, signing up to give free coaching and all but his smurfing actions cannot be ignored. And if he follows the same path as zan we will IP ban him as well and he wont be able to view the site anymore.

When I read Zan I was like "Oh crap what have I done?"
You must be really desperate to smurf the BSG. There is no cash prize and when you win the coach you get will know that you are in a higher league. Hardly the perfect crime.

Ummmm, I'm not sure a simple IP check should be that all that is required to prove someone guilty. 99% of users have Dynamic IPs, so several users can have the same IP at different times. This also makes IP banning impossible, as they can just turn their router on and off and get a new one. Unless you ban a whole group of them, but then you'll be preventing innocent potential members from joining.
Here's a screenshot I took from a forum I moderate on. I searched my own IP address (As I have no reason to have fake accounts when I'm a mod), and these users have also had that same IP at one time or another.

We didn't ban him just because of IP alone.
Trust us, we do have our ways of finding out who are smurfs. We can't really release everything here or the future offenders would know how we catch them right ? (:
we already highly suspected boxer was using those accounts from the replay analysis
and the identical ip address which i made sure wasnt shared by any other users was just the final confirmation of evidence.
Interesting to see the responses, yes a 0 chance policy is the best to use here, smurfing is so low and can only hinder the progress of the community. Keep all the ways to keep people banned silent too, I think a guilty before innocent thing can work here because with IT the way it is there are always loop holes to get around ban implementation methods.
I'm just glad that I didnt play this latest bsg then, knowing my luck I would have got the smurfer in the 1st round but not been able to work his smurfing out.
imagine a GSL champion smurfing a SEA account for fun lol. Not that i approve. Gotta say though, sponsors would be glad that such strict action was taken. No one would sponsor a tournament that have smurfettes.
Mini... I doubt they'd remember ALL the past smurfers but from the looks of it, TKShadow has been in quite a number of BSGs as well as the most recent BSG. Oh... he was also the first DQ in the most recent BSG... :S
Good old Kringe, he was raging in the clan chat for aaaaages about it xDDD Haha and whats with DeniAble? Because ive seen him play once or twice same level of skill each time =/
Spartaz. I think it's more him being Boxer who has won the tournament and is thus not allowed to participate in future BSGs. Also that he was using 4 accounts just to compete in the BSG. :S I'm not too sure about him smurfing because I sure as hell CAN beat him! Gimme 100 goes at him! RAWR! Oh well, you'd have to ask Baka about the full story.
Even if it's not the same IP doesn't mean it's not him. If I was being as persistent as him in his situation I would be posting from another IP. The writing style was pretty similar to KingLeonidas though, which is why I suspect that.

He has deleted his post. Now it just looks like you're laughing at my post...
No matter how i look at it, that guy is still naynay :/ And i think he's in masters because he paid huntress or someone for it, i saw a thread somewhere in sc2sea about it ages ago.

Glad to see naynay/boxer/mkp get banned (I've had him admit to being the same guy in chat rooms before). The funny thing is he's not even that good, I seem to remember hearing that he had his account levelled for him to get it to masters too. I also remember back when he actually did play like a silver, he was streaming the tourney and during a zvz that he was just about to die in, the stream conveniently turned off and he dc'ed and had to rematch. Looked very suspicous
