if you have played lots of games already, even 30 straight games might not be enough.
what i notice is that once i regularly start playing people of a certain league, promotion comes soon into that league.

and no, i have never won 30 straight. not good enough.

Any memory what your win:loss ratio is when you get promoted? Ive just got up to 55% wins

i don't think the win/loss ratio matters much. once you regularly play silver players, your promotion to silver is going to come.

I was regulary playing the league above me, seemed like forever i would get a nice win streak, lose a few and so on. then i wnt on a bigger losing streak playing both people above and at my level about 8-10 games then i logged in one day played 1 game and won it, then came my promotion...very weird!

this thread reminds me of when i played WoW, people laughed at the idea of paying 100g to get someone a pvp item. pretty soon we were selling them for 1000g each which took 10 games a week.

maybe if after a reset you screwed your placements and you ended up in silver when you wer in diamond previously(and deserved to be there)?
but even then you would probably skyrocket back to diamond i guess...

It's possible but quite impractical. It ruins the experience of "climbing the ladder" and the guy will "fall off the ladder" eventually (if he plays) as a diamond if he really isn't diamond level.
