On the subject of walkovers, maybe you could set a certain date sometime during the first group stage that each player has to be active in the group/played some games, otherwise they are replaced by those on the standby list? Would hate to see Eddie and others not get a chance to play

I'm pretty sure I've covered this part in the OP. As long as not Masters in current or last season he's good to go.
