Why would it affect ACL? It's out of our control and doesn't affect any of our players. Our tournaments will always run for as long as they need to.
It wouldnt be the first time a tournament has changed dates because a bigger event/s has double booked the date.
couple that with the fact theres been no update from ACL for about a month now (im sure you guys have been busy with OCS3 etc) and we're about 17 days out from the event with no details on schedule or open bracket registration, it isnt farfetched for some doubts to creep in.

iirc scheduling conflicts are only prohibited if the prize pool is over $10k
I'd imagine wcs only affects ACL in terms of twitch numbers. the Hong Kong tournament should affect some players on the second day of ACL if they qualify for the semis/ finals

Chris you of all people I would of thought would realise the impact and challenges of changing an event date for an event as large as ACL, let alone realise Starcraft 2 is only part of the picture.

The entire core ACL team have been working flat out the last few months on producing and delivering on the OCS3 qualifiers and finals. You need not be concerned if ACL Melbourne is going ahead or not. Expect a lot of updates in the next few days.

I have already confirmed with PJ there is no conflict.
Just a quick question, when will registrations be open for ACL melbourne? I've been checking every few days and was just wondering if there was a confirmed date
Baldie, don't need to rip into anyone or remind us that ACL is more than just SC2.. Don't need that broken record. You should try and focus on replying to the questions raised. The lack of info, hype and build up for ACL over the past few events has been a bit disappointing :-(
What are the groups? When will we find out groups? When wil info on open bracket be available? How are pc numbers set up this time? Considering LoL is now in the mix? And any other question people might want to know. Just answer, no need for 'we have more important things to worry about ya know, think of the big picture'.. The answer is good, but just replying with 'we are working on it and expect details over this week' would be a great response if you do t have the info yet.
Yeah I've booked flights to go down - and I'm sure I'm not the only one in the same boat.. But more details are always appreciated.. But we as a community have to also be patient
+1 to chaddyface

We probably all realise and understand this, but Chad raises some valid points regarding the build up to this event - despite the other tournaments being organised along with SC2, the fact remains we should be kept relatively informed regarding any plans being made for the StarCraft community.
Please let us know what's happening >< for what is going to be my first major LAN I would like to know what's going to be happening well in advance regarding registration etc
