Was referring to the win rates for each region etc. The combined win rate count I thought was interesting. But having specific win rates published for each and every region is probs unnecessary. So abstract doesn't have to crack his head to think how to make that a reality

Even then abstract has already made it an option for players to choose to make that stats public or not. So it's already pretty good.

Win percentage helps keep you focused on the fact that its not about playing games but about playing your best in those games.I think having the win % reminds people that you actually need to be trying your hardest in your #dedication games. I understand what you're saying, if your only goal is to get your number of games up. But I don't think winrate does a good job of reflecting that, your mmr will just even out so you have 50% anyway even if you are playing like trash/cheesin every game

I will try to explain why it is not redundant data with some scenarios that are quite common.

Person A usually ladders on KR but sometimes the connection to those servers is laggy for them, during these times they ladder on NA.

Person B plays on SEA most of the time but after a string of losses to smurfs they decide to play on NA for a bit.

Person C plays on NA most of the time but needs to have a number of games on SEA to enter a BSG so this week they have switched to that ladder.

In all these circumstances playing on the other account is showing #dedication and therefore should be counted.

Vortex I'm confused how you're getting to this conclusion? One person using multiple accounts is tallied together into one number next to that one player's name. There is no "false advertising" in this situation?

ah ok I think you are maybe misunderstood something and that is the source of all this.

A real person has only one spot in the table, regardless of the number of accounts. I aggregate all of the data for each of there accounts under one name. So every player listed is a person to beat.

Each person listed in the table are different people. So there isn't any false advertisement.

So under myself for example, Nemesis. The number of games listed there played or total career games, is the total of all the accounts I have played on. Why do players play more than one account?

Some reasons could be : lagging on EU or NA today, so playing on SEA or KR (as an example) OR I've been active on NA but I got heaps of bp on SEA so it's SEA today OR I want to practice vs more cheese today so I'm going to do KR for the day etc... OR NA is down for maintenance... time to ladder on SEA/KR for now OR (whatever other reasons players might choose to ladder on various servers)

I have several features to add to the thread but based on some of the comments lately I thought I should check whether people would want them, or worse yet feel negatively about them.

There seems to be 2 camps, one feeling that the win % based data is counter productive to the #dedication thread, or at least doesn't have any meaning, and the other who feel that it is a useful stat for driving improvement.

The main point of this thread is to get everyone laddering more, have some friendly competition, and hopefully improve along the way. I try to keep these things in mind when planning features but perhaps I am getting off track a bit.

So without further ado here is a more detailed list of what I am adding, separated into game number / % win based features. If anyone feels this isn't the direction you want this thread to go please make a comment and perhaps I can look at running a poll.


Based on game number:

• Adding numbered positions to the table + position change

• Show position change up/down per week like the actual ladder has

• Number of games played this week / last week (added as columns in the table)

• Number of games played yesterday (added as column in the table)

Based on win %

• win % this week / last week (added as columns in the table)
  I feel this is a good indicator on how your laddering is going, although the ladder should push you towards 50% in the long term, short term increase in win % should be an indicator of improvement

• Map Masters (This will be a seperate section to the table)
  For a bit of fun I am going to put up who has the highest % win rate on each ladder map across all your games. To be included the player has to have at least 20 games on the map.
  (won't include games from the first week or so of the season as I don't have the stats for then)

General:

• League promotion congratulations (This will be a seperate section to the table)
  Will have a seperate sections and different flair for:
  GM / Masters / Highest League achieved / Making back to an already achieved league
  for GM / Masters I will also note the server it was achieved on

• Clan Override
  Allows people to add a clan tag even if it is not on there account (some people seemed to want to do this before)

One of the things I was considering was removing overall win % and just having this / last week. How would you feel about that? Or would it be the same

Was discussing with some clanmates.. the %win can also be inflated cos some players might be masters on one account but silver/gold on others. Obviously when they are laddering on the lower accounts, their win rates goes up. So when it is added to the overall, it looks high.

Another suggestion someone else made was perhaps instead of %wins, to replace with maybe ladder points. But even then that might be controversial but at least it might not make players as conscious as compared to %wins.

100% support this. No comments on the others though. Don't need to make it more complicated for yourself already as the main point, THE ULTRA MAIN POINT, is to see games played. And oh, I don't really think win% is much needed in the table.
