Edit: didn't know what scoot was, looked it up, $462 return from Sydney. With transfers from Adelaide it will be $733. Wow
I found from Adelaide much cheaper, about $500 ish through webjet all up.
Edit: I take that back, must have done a typo in the searcher im getting similar results as well
EDIT AGAIN:
Looking at some for the results, and by using scoot so flying out from Sydney, from Adelaide its about $770 ish without using tiger, I sorta stay away from them :P

IMPORTANT POST
just to manage expectations for those who are planning to come.
iem will be sharing grounds with sitex (an annual electronics and IT fair) sitex isn't like gamescon and it have minimum relevance to esports except maybe for a few small booths here and there reselling peripherals. you will see more of exhibitors selling computer, laptops, broadband, printers, etc.
the location held is in singapore expo which is a good 30 minute from the city area. it will be hella close to get to from the airport or for people staying in the eastern region of singapore. if you are staying in a hotel (usually located closer to the city areas), you should take note of this.
thats all i could say about the event until i receive more info on sitex.
And there isn't much food for sale around that place (only a few restaurants and one food court), parking is a premium due to Sitex and it is going to be extremely crowded due to the fact that it is an IT Fair in Singapore.

Drop hacks, gotta watch out for dem Drop hacks.
If the open bracket is similar to the IEM Cologne, i believe there is a limited amount of spots(i think cologne was 4 groups X 8) So there is ONLY 32 spots for the open brackets and famous pros would be prioritized over unknown players. And its pretty near korea so i think maybe some korean players MAY fly down so dont keep your hopes too high that you can get in the open bracket. Just saying. MAY NOT BE TRUE

8 slots will be reserved for local attendance. Korean players will definitely fly down though.
The crowds is going to be nuts though =/
Will there be any more information soon? It seems rather threadbare for the moment. Things like spectators sitting area size, tough estimation of event time (9am to 10pm?), etc etc

Qualification details is nice and all for potential competitors.
From a spectator stand point though, I'd like to hear details of venue setup, seating (if any), screens, casting, ticketed etc.
In line with managing expectations, I think it's fair that we are provided with these details. Especially for people who are thinking of flying in. We don't want people booking tickets only to be disappointed.

My thoughts exactly. The longer it takes the more we will be paying to get over there so I hope we can get some of this information soon
