The games will be played at 9pm (Melbourne/Sydney, Australia) (6pm SGT).
Brackets will be generated at the start of the tournament and it is your own responsibility to find your opponent's character code, add them in-game and create a lobby on the map LISTED in the rules and regulations.
You must then report the win/loss to me in-game (SkyBreaker.895) and the winner must e-mail the replay(s) to bsg-tournament@live.com.au.
Unstable and myself will sit in on games along the way for casting and commentary purposes, the players of which games we will be sitting in on will be notified before the start of the tournament. Make sure you tune in if you're not playing, it will have a lot of useful information
So we have completed the first BSG tournament for SC2SEA.com and it all went according to plan and I hope all those who participated and tuned into Unstable's stream had a blast!
The winner is: D4rkFusion (Fusion 835)!
Big thanks to Unstable for his awesome casting and commentating, you can check the VoDs at http://www.youtube.com/unstabletv1. We will hopefully be running this tournament weekly so stay tuned in this forum!
Again, congratulations to Fusion for taking the win for the first BSG Open, furthermore congratulations for his recent promotion into Platinum!
A quick interview with the winner...
Quote:
Hi Fusion and on behalf of myself and sc2sea.com, congratulations on winning our first-ever BSG tournament! Just a few quick questions which will be uploaded to sc2sea.com...
Where abouts are you playing from?
I'm from singapore and am 16 turning 17.
Ah awesome! Young and competitive, they're both great traits to have! In regards to the tournament, what did you think of sc2sea.com's first-ever BSG tournament?
I think it's a great event for lower level players like us to be given a chance at going deep into tournaments without having to face powerhouses like Pinder, Glade etc.
That was definitely something we were aiming at, tournaments in SCII are one of the most fun aspects of the game and we wanted all players to be able to experience that! What would your three most important pieces of advice be to other BSG players?
I think for players at out level, we should focus on our macro and our openings. Perfect the timings of certain build orders and keeping the minerals and gas low. Also, another thing I feel low level players fail to do is to scout. Scout and be able to react properly.
Speaking more personally now in regards to SCII, what are your goals for the future?
Get into the diamond league (Almost there! Just got promoted to plat!) and hopefully go deep in a CO.
Congratulations! Good luck moving onwards up the leagues and ranks! One last question before we wrap this up, when did you start playing StarCraft?
Started playing Brood-War since i was a kid. Since I was 8 years old and waited forever for StarcCraft 2! As for StarCraft 2, i started playing it once it launched.
Very nice! Again thank you for participating in and being the victor in our first BSG tournament, all the best for the future!
Kind regards,
SkyBreaker of sc2sea.com
