I'm not a social guy nor do I have many friends, but I do have 1-3 really close friends and I love them dearly. For a good valentines day all I need to know is that they're still alive + healthy and then my heart is warmed. I love them.

I did build many many spines in their natural cos I did a proxy hatch, it was very funny. Also, they were AI and stupid.

Valentines day is a trumped up corporate creation designed to suck even more money out of the average person. It has devolved into nothing but a giant competition for girls to flaunt their presents and the "strength" of their relationship. The trap is you either look like an inconsiderate jerk, or you bite the bullet and buy (literally) into the ridiculously fake celebration.

I choose to ignore it and instead of one day a year where I am strong armed into a show affection for my girlfriend, I choose to show my affection in my own way at my own time.

I call them Megaline days, where I just randomly buy her a present or 3 and spend time with her. It's far more enjoyable than a cliché celebration where businesses mark their products up 300% to make a quick buck, and other girls flaunt their presents etc. in some ritualistic show of "success." When love becomes a competition it's time to pull the plug.

Valentines day is almost as inflated as rings...

Hello all. I am a woman who can understand both sides of the argument.
But you should ask yourself: why need there be 2 opposing sides to this at all?

Valentine's Day doesn't mean you have to "look like an inconsiderate jerk, or you bite the bullet and buy (literally) into the ridiculously fake celebration" at all. I feel sorry for people who overthink it and rage against such a day that is dedicated to love. Sure, the shops may bump up the prices for their items. But who says you need to buy that crap anyway?

Say pooie to the materialism that other people fall for and use Valentine's Day as an excuse to spend (even) more quality time with your loved ones!!!

I hope everyone had a great time with their better halves yesterday.... or failing that, their right hands ;P
