Went through something similar at the end of last year, albeit wasn't living with my EX. Similar story: She has outgrown you, is earning money, wants to go on holidays, wants to think about the future. She does not see you as the Captain to lead the ship into the future with her to provide her with everything she wants in life going ahead, especially at the 20ish age. Personally, I didn't want to win my EX back, but wanted to show her up about how great I could be, and cutting back on gaming time was definitely necessary. So I cut out StarCraft almost completely for a few months, but then realised what great friends I have met through StarCraft and came back to the community purely because of these guys.

I definitely can understand your motivation now for cutting back sitting infront of the computer, especially if your gonna play that pointless LOL game. But don't forget all the great friends that you are still "social" with from sitting infront of a computer!

Iv'e been in a circumstance where I told my ex that it was starting to become a friendship. Couple of weeks later he was begging, I gave him a second chance and ended up making me feel 1000x worse than before, because he dumped me.

Working helps for sure, but it might be difficult to start fresh and you , might leave a crappy impression on your employees, just rely on your mates, and you'll do fine, Light has got some pretty good points too

If you think it's going to make you happier then go for it brah. Cutting down game time substantially to get back on track is fine I think. You'll realise sooner or later just how much game time you need for a perfect balance, so just work out the big issues first. Gonna miss you not being around as much though!

Me and my GF had a similar problem for a while, I've been with her for over 4 years, bought a house to live with her) and after a while she just managed to just accept it for what it is. I live in a small town where no one at all has any idea esports even exist. Now after a few years of seeing how passionate i am over it she's gone to the other side and become supportive.

She's a pretty smart girl though and i'm lucky to have her, but you cant sacrifice yourself for other people because you'll end up resenting them.
