I know a great method t fix your sleeping pattern.
First, you'll have to free up a couple of days, for example, a weekend.
Friday night, do not sleep at all. Do an all nighter, and stay awake during the next day as well.
Now, that alone won't fix it. What you also have to do is a little trick. Starting the next day (saturday if you're doing it over the weekend), do not eat anything.
Now, on Saturday night, go to bed at the time you wish to start sleeping. You still shouldn't have eaten anything since Friday night. Also set an alarm for the time you want to wake up.
When you wake up, have the biggest breakfast you have ever had. 6 sausages, 8 eggs and a whole pig if you have. Just eat till you can't eat any more, then eat a bit more. Then when you go to bed Sunday night, you should fall asleep fairly soon.
It has varying results, but I'd say on the whole, it works fairly well. It's worth a shot, and if it doesn't work, all you've missed out on a couple of meals and some sleep.

As other people said, you should start regularly excercising and go to bed early, even if you can't sleep you're trying and you will eventually get there until it is routine. You NEED to do it, your school is going to be severely affected, mine was but everything is good now (finished school and did well thankfully). School is important, sleep is important. Get them both into order.
Avoid the stimulation of the internet. In an age of information overloading it is easy to get caught in the fast paced loop of contemporary life. Before bed you should spend at least 30 minutes engaging in an activity which does not require excessive concentration or thought. Playing an SC2 game is a bad idea, as is cramming for an exam etc. You should read a book, a novel, nothing which is overly complicated. If you don't like reading, watch television - anything to really slow down the pace of what is ordinarily a packed day.
Sleep is critical to functionality so you really want to make sure you are getting a reasonable amount, coffee can only do so much.
i pulled an all nighter for two exams... Ended up very very badly as i kept yawning and writing with my eyes closed oh as well as laughing and giggling like a little girl...
I've been sleeping ~4 hours per night with a big crash every weekend for about 5-6 years in a row now. It's not healthy. Trust me, you wanna nip that shit in the bud asap, don't let it become a habit.

I've been wide awake for a whole night and really pushed myself to stay awake through the day aswell. I eventually crashed at a proper time of sorts (8pm) and woke up at 6am. It works and got my body clock back together. Not sure about the no eating thing.. sounds like torture - i think the guy racks disciprine.
Breakfast is the most important meal, because you're "breaking a fast". If you trick your body into thinking 2 days is just 1 hectik day, then it's going to be a lot easier to settle into that pattern.

i thank you all for your help.
these are the things i have gathered from reading this thread while half asleep in my first class.
1 i need to exercise more. i know i should do a bit more but i dont have the time to Exercise , Do shit for my youtube, and do school work all in the hours of 3pm - 10.
to answer thgat thing about the 24 hour gym i wish i could do this but the closest gym is like a 1 hr ride from where i live. it takes 30 mins to get to town and it would by estimation be another 30 mins to get to that side of town. some mornings i use to walk around the block (4 am - 430 am) but as in the winter months getting out of bed is very regretable.so this inst a viable option.
2nd thing i got from this is a healthy diet and trust me i have a awesome diet with my mum as a awesome chef and step dad who can make some awesome Asian Style foods, plus having lots of home grown veges and fruit is epic.
also about the doctor
we went last week and still waiting for the results. (this was for falling unconcius 3 times of 6 months . they are looking into all the things that may have caused it. i believe it is because of major sleep deprivation. but ive had some ex rays , blood tests, and some heart shit .
so conclusively i think it is as some say for they a anxiety thing. i generaly hate school because im not doing well. but every day i make the full day i go home sleep from 3 - 4 then am up all night.
and end up not going to school the next day.
i know this might be weird to some me just opening up like this but seriously i want to find out what the problem is and this thread has helped me thanks
oh and some of the stress comes from me failing at tasks given to me eg i did a terrable cast for a Esport team. this made me angry at my self . yet i could do the HSL ones with ease. also same thing happened with school i failed at making a english (australian story like program ) some shit about adolescence . sorry this is going on but when i get sick i think i go down mentaly as well .....
You say you have no time to exercise. Exercise can take as little as 15 minutes a day. When I was really inactive and had a terrible sleep schedule staying up until 9am some nights I eventually got sick of it and started doing short exercise routines most nights.
2x20 pushups, if you can't do this many do as many as possible properly then the rest on your knees.
2x50 situps.
2x20 bicep curls - If you don't have dumbells just do something like squats or lunges (youtube them if not sure how to)
That can be done in 15 minutes easily and would burn enough energy and use enough muscles to untense my eyes and brain and relax me so I could sleep much easier.
As for diet absolutely agree with Neko's post it has great advice about no snacking in the evenings. However it sounds like you have a great diet and am envious I wish I ate more fresh fruit and vegies!
As you said it sounds like it's anxiety related and doing a bit of exercise will help somewhat but I doubt it will remove the root of the problem. I'm no expert in this stuff except but once again from my experiences I always found 23Nemesis' "write it all down on a piece of paper" each night to be great once i finally managed to motivate myself to do it. I would write out my whole dilemma and categorise and organise it into what I could do about it, and plan what I had to simply forget about, and what I had to get done on what days. Once it's on the paper and I know when I have to do it all I would then push it from my mind and find sleep somewhat easier.
Another thing is what Zain and some others have said about overstimulating yourself. I've personally known people who say "I can't sleep" and yet only try for 5 minutes and then hop back onto the internet, play games or eat junk food/soda. Now obviously your situation is more intense then this but be aware that the internet, games and such are all the opposite of what you should be doing. In late adolescence I had serious problems sleeping and I taught myself 'meditation' techniques where I would force myself to lie flat on my back in the same position and then basically speak to myself in my head. I would run through a scene where my voice was telling me that I was on a warm beach, lieing in the sand and would describe the warmth of the sand and how comfortable it was and describe little pleasurable things about my surroundings. I think beaches have always been one of my favourite place and to me it's like my happy place being alone on a deserted warm beach. I would then tell myself to focus on one part of my body at a time and to feel it melt like liquid into a state of relaxation. I've always looked up to myself and taken what I've said very seriously. So I would listen to my own voice talk myself to sleep... all in my head.
Hmm... that actually sounds a lot more crazy then it actually was! But the idea is you control your mind and your body. And if you learn the right methods you can manipulate and steer it through certain methods.
P.S. Get a massage, they rock. If too pricey get one from a massage school for free or 1/10 the price

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.
* Set a routine of getting up in the morning - force yourself awake no matter how tired you are.
* Drink LOTS of water when you wake up - you feel tired when you are dehydrated
* Breaky - eat it, it does give you the energy to start the day
* Lots of sunshine - it seems strange but a lack of sunshine can mess with your body clock.
* Don't nap during the day - it will keep you awake longer later in the evening
* Small meals at night - no snacking afterwards & definately no coffee or soda
* De-stress yourself
We've tried hard over the years to get her sleeping right - but in the end she gave up as it was a lot of work for her. I still catch her napping when I get homes from work in the arvie.
In terms of stress and anxiety, i just want to repeat something i said because it took people annoying me for me to do this so i'll do the same to you.
Go talk to someone. No one needs to know you're doing it, it's all confidential. I know that I definitely wouldn't want to go talk to a school counsellor when I was in school, but just try it once man. They'll help you set goals that are achievable, they'll help you confront things in your life that you're avoiding, and they're just an unbiased person to talk to. You can't even imagine the difference it makes.

I would just like to put in my personal experience.
A few years ago i had alot of trouble sleeping this led to failing a few years off school and dropping out and depression, i am sure there are more but they are the important ones, now in my case i refused to ask for help and nor would i accept help if it was offered please dont make the same mistakes i did ask for help and accept it no matter where it comes from. Make sure you see the doctor speak with someone anyone friend, parent school counselor because it will help and they will help you get through. Try to do it as soon as possible to avoid as much damage as possible depression sucks and so does uncertainty in life. Even now i work 4 days a week with a day off in between every work day some months i sleep on my day off and pull an all nighter before work horrible habbits.... sleep is very important!!! do not neglect it!
There's a lot of good advice already about routine, exercise and diet, and good work by sc2sea for that.
But your last point really concerns me, the one about depression. If you are sure that you are only in a low mood because of your lack of sleep, then fine. Focus on all the excellent advice already presented. However one of the major symptoms of depression is difficulty sleeping, so your lack of sleep might be caused by clinical depression.
Depression is super common, everyone will experience it once during their life. However this can range from just feeling down after a negative event, to consistent self harm and attempted suicide. If you've experienced loss of diet or overeating, loss of interest in activities/social events, difficulty concentrating, feelings of guilt/worthlessness/helplessness, irritability, persistent sad/anxious feelings or thoughts of suicide I would strongly recommend seeing a professional such as a counsellor at school or your doctor. Depression can get worse if left untreated, leading to you being physically unable to get out of bed and just breaking down.
The reason I'm getting worried is that I have depression and am currently repeating year 12 because of it. I pretty much crashed last year and missed a good 2 months of school, leaving me too far behind my classmates. I really hope that you are just having a hard time sleeping, and nothing more. If so, I find that routine and exercise was the most helpful things for me. Just going to bed at the same time after winding down for an hour (usually watching a sc2 stream) was useful, especially if I had been for a walk that day.
I wish you good luck with your sleep, and please feel free to talk to me if you have any questions
