it would be fun if we have a custom maphack vs maphack game. where everyone has complete information. wonder how the game would turn out. haha. last time in warcraft you could turn off the fog but u cant in sc2.

does the maphack only come with the build more supply depots function or the drop function? i mean if a player just uses that function and not the rest, u definitely cant tell if he's maphacking or not.
Yes it seems he can toggle on and off all features. Someone could use only messages helps without any possibility to be spotted in the replay.
You can also use only production tab whitch is incredibly usefull even alone. I remember some of the replays of possible hackers where the guy clearly had no vision of opponent units and structures but might have been knowing what he was building. Those were left as "not enough evidence".
But remember for every would-be hackers that ultimately Blizard catch you on and you get your account banned. Plus you will be a cheater even if you only use even one of this feature as the "build more supply" or Force Field timer.
I heard somewhere that people in BW used to play customs with hacks on so that they could learn all the timings and where drops/pushes/anything occurs with them being able to see it as practice, and where/how the opponents army responds. Factor in the alerts cleaning up your macro and its actually a pretty good practice tool to use with a friend i think, provided you use it sparingly as you'll begin to rely on it
Anyway, regarding about how maphack works, I never expected the maphack software can also make the production tab appear on your game screen. If you add that up with maphack, then you would only need to look at the minimap to see the enemy's movements, and you only need to glare at the production tab to see what the enemy is making. You wouldn't even need to scroll your screen to see what's going on on your enemy's base.
...And for some reason even with maphack some people STILL can't get past Diamond. I guess you truly need to understand and master the game if you want to get to masters, huh :P

As impressive as this visionhack is with all its details, it's cheating and I hope people will get banned rapidly if using this.
The stream is imo advertising his product or a customer wants to show off.
<downloads the maphack> Just joking It seems someone did a nice work with that program, I wonder how much time would it take to remake on from 0. I bet its a lot of time there
I've always had this theory with people creating hacks. The people who do code/make them clearly have some skill in the art of programming or maybe it's just memory tweaking I'm not too sure. But things like forcefield timers and shit like that is rather impressive in an unimpressive way. I just find it a shame that people use their talents to make hacks for onlpine games, especially games as competitive as SC2.
Always blew my mind back in the day with CS how sophisticated some of the hacks were that people got caught using and the 3000 features they had. Oh well, I found the original post disgusting but interesting nether the less.
I think these things are disgusting. What a waste of time and effort by the programmer.
The biggest surprise for me was the production tab. That enables you to know what your opponent it building without looking at their base and giving away that you are using a map hack when viewed on the replay.
I really hope that blizzard can identify these kind of hacks and permanently bans accounts that use them.
SC is a beautiful game that truly tests your skills. Tools like this ruin the competitive nature of the game and take the fun out of it.
Wow, I never knew that maphacks held so much power. I always imagined that it would purely grant a "no-fog" like vision over the whole map so you can tell what they are doing. That's pretty OP, but even as is, you can't use this to replace the need for solid macro and mechanics. Would still make the game a lot easier...o.O
