Its way too late for a poll now, or for any "major" format changes to happen. Also if we polled every thing it would take alot of time. We will run a feedback thread at the end of the season and try to improve the more discussed topics at the end before SEAL #3

Yeah, Wednesday is 24hrs notice and for tier 4 they have 48 hours notice

I think he meant it says Tier 3,4,5 all say starting tuesday, even though its meant to be thursday

thanks for the clarification nirvana.

i think the timings for submission for lineups look great.

Would it be possible to publish the matchups for tier 2 on monday night itself? This will allow the players involved to have a proper night of practicing and preparations with their clan mates.. This should be better than having the matchups published on tuesday itself.

I do understand that this may be hard on the admins to do this. On behalf of the whole of sc2sea, thanks for putting in all the efforts so far!

Added some rules:

"Smurfing" which includes

1) The use of another players handle to hide your identity
2) Playing twice for your team by logging into a team mate's account
3) Not identifying yourself when you are a known player, etc

This is considered cheating and will result in a ban for the player and a ban or other punishment for the team. It is the team leader's responsibility to ensure all his members are legit and the team will be held responsible. Be smart guys, don't cheat / smurf.

Streamed matches:

Should your match be streamed, the games generally will not be played "concurrently", instead they will happen one by one so all games can be streamed. The team leaders are to mutually agree between themselves on the order of which player goes first, and try to accommodate their player's request (e.g if they need to go), etc whenever possible. Should an agreement not be reached, then all the people who MUST leave early will just play their matches concurrently right away.

Update of 4 minute disconnection rule:

Chadmann brought up this point and the other admins agreed. Disconnections after 4 minutes now follow this format - 1) Should the opponent agree to regame, they regame. 2) Should the opponent not agree to regame, the individual league / head admins will decide if there should be a regame or if the win is awarded to the player who did not disconnect, on a case by case basis.

Postponement of matches:

If the admin is informed before match time that a player couldn't make because of a rescheduled time then it is reasonable to allow a free sub (if the other team agrees) or postponement of the match. If the admin is only informed after the series started then it counts as a sub.

About this postponement, i think that it can/may not count as a sub if both teams agree to it. Sometimes the admin is not informed(due to mistakes of the managers only contacting the other team's manager). So i hope that this can apply in a case-by-case basis.

A little clarification on the rules for Tier 1 as many players asked me about playoffs.

The registration thread didn't state that there were playoffs. The leading team at the end of the season will get the prize.

The playoffs were "replaced" by the SEACC.

SEACUP replacing playoffs:

We followed the football league format for our league (even the naming was copied from the EPL) and this is a system that has worked to great success in the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Seria A, and all over Europe etc. This meant having a separate recognition for league champions and having cups as the "playoffs" that involve all divisions. This gives teams more chances and the ability to recognize two champions as well as teams who can dominate and do "the double". We plan to have the winner of the SEAL play the winner of TCL or the winner of SEAL play the winner of the SEACC, something like that for added hype later.

The problem i found with the playoff method was that it did not reward teams that have put in effort to play well the whole season, only to lose a single match (hey, this happens!) and therefore not win the league and get absolutely nothing at the end even though they played well the whole season.

Regardless, this format is debatable. We shouldn't change stuff halfway during the season as it will be unfair to those top teams ranked highly presently. But we can take a poll in our feedback thread at the end of the season for next seasons format, to let the players decide if they want to have the SEACup still or if they rather have individual playoffs for each league instead - in that case league champions are not determined by points but instead by the playoff champion and top 4 qualify for the playoffs.

As for the promotion rules that weren't clear before:

The bottom 2 teams of the higher division and the top 2 teams of the lower division play in the qualification matches up/down GSL style. The top 2 teams stay/get in the higher division next season.

Match 1: Top tier2 team vs Bottom tier1 team
Match 2: 2nd Bottom Tier 2 team vs 2nd Top tier 2 team.
Match 3: Winner of match 1 vs winner of match 2 (Winner of this match gets first spot in )
Match 4: Loser of match 1 vs loser of match 2 (Loser is eliminated)
Match 5: Winner of match 4 vs loser of match 3 (Winner gets final spot)

Note:

• This format prevents any round robin ties from happening and a maximum of 5 matches played.
• This will only apply for Tier 1 to Tier 3, (the competitive leagues) and a special format will be thought up soon for the casual players.
• Automated promotion is not going to happen because someone brought up the point that for e.g a team could auto get promoted to Tier 1 only to get demolished every week. We rather have the league more static but filled with better teams who deserve to be playing in the higher league, and hence the new teams have to go through the up/down match to prove themselves.
• The playoff match will have an extra game added to prevent ties from happening. So 5 matches worth 1 point and an ace match worth 2 points.
