There's no terran unit that really pisses me off. Not because they're all kinda good, but in TvT no one unit really angers me. The closest would be Reapers and Banshees, but I also hate the Raven because it's nowhere near as cool as the Science vessel. TvT is a good matchup.
Against Zerg there's no unit that frustrates me by itself, though in general aggressive zergs piss me off. Playing on Korea a lot does not help this.
And for Protoss all of them. Except the carrier and mothership. They all piss me off to some extent.
I used to really hate the gimmicky units such as reapers, banshees, hellions, dark templars, voidrays and pheonixes back when I didn't know how to defend against them.
The only unit I really hate is Mothership + Archon toilet. Like, what the **** do you do? Broodlords? Ultras? Roaches? Neural Parasite?
Simple. Mutalisks. And this is why I feel like screaming as loud as hell every time I either see a Spire or a Mutalisk. Mutalisk harass requires you to leave a couple of marines at every expansion, and that causes your Marines to be spread out quite thin, and because of that, a large flock of mutas could take out those small groups of marines one at the time, either that or the zerg sends in a wave of Lings to your base.
Screw Mutalisks.
For Terran, the unit would be Siege Tanks. But they, along with Vikings, are the things that makes TvT the best matchup IMO.
For Protoss, simple, HIGH TEMPLARS and CHARGELOTS. Sure, you can kite the Zealots and you can EMP the HTs, but my laggy computer can't handle 2 200/200 supply worth armies battle while maintaining FPS around 10-20. Thus, I can't micro effectively. Sigh.
Marauders, make terran bio too good (not in a broken way, just in comparison to mech), completely switching terrans racial identity from broodwar to sc2. Immortals for a somewhat similar reason, boring unit that counters mech a little to hard.
Before anyone says the obvious, flat out taking these units out would obviously break the game pretty significantly right now, but more the fact they were in the game in the first place force the game to be balanced around them making it kinda lame.
Stalkers...I feel they have a crucial purpose and obviously can't be taken out but they're so boring and really bad. 125/50 for a unit that does 10 damage a shot? Against Terran its sole purpose (aside from early defense) is to shoot air, you can blink forward and pick off a medivac or two marines...the micro is kinda fun but there's nothing very intuitive about it. Zerg doesn't have Marauders so Stalkers sit there and tank damage while something else kills things.
It's my least favourite unit for that reason. I'd like to see some change, maybe slower but far more powerful attack, remove bonus to armored or whatever, even remove blink. Dragoons did damage...Stalkers don't. And it's dumb.
You wanna know how bad Stalkers are? Try going nexus first or 1gate expand against a Terran on Tal'darim who goes reactor hellion...you can make that wall of pylons, but those things have 90 hitpoints...
The thing about Marauders is that they're part of Blizzards plan to encourage terrans to have a lot of variety in their mech and bio strategies so we need a unit that doesn't just die to everything and comes out of the barracks. I think when they designed SC2 they looked at SC1 TvP and TvT and thought "you know, the way everyone only does mech in these matchups feels sort of limiting from a unit variety standpoint" Obviously it's not limiting at all from a matchup theory perspective, TvP and TvT are ******* crazy indepth! Just that they're all variations of the same 3-5 units; vultures, tanks, goliaths and a few of their buddies. What would be much better is for all matchups to be like BW TvZ, where there's tremendous variety in Terran strategies and unit choices.
When they design SC2 their aim is to make each unit useful and promote a large unit variety in matchups, and I like how the marauder sort of enables that in Terran, even if it is basically a boring a-mover. What I don't like about TvP is that I cannot go pure mech. Hopefully HotS fixes that!
I can understand that from that Broodwar elitist point of view that the Marauder is an ugly unit because BW Terran had to play this awesome positioning game with tanks and mines and yea, it does suck that it's pretty much gone now >< At least we have ghost vs templar wars!
definitely the Marauders on the Terrans I feel like a turtle after getting shot by concussive shells.
fProtoss I'd say...well DT . (especially when I don't see it coming haha.)
and as for zerg I'd have to say 2 units Mutas(starts panicking) and Infestors with their fungal growth and parasite.(Why U take useful units!?) XD
Both mass muta and marine.... prob account for a large portion of my losses. Even when scouted I just curl up into the fetal position and start shaking.
