Sounds like your on track with where you should be at really your speed will pick up so long as your always doing things right. Distractions are distractions will always upset macro as you trade it off for micro. Practice is what will increase that to a point where you are macroing enough and still have time to micro. If you want to get better at that you probably need a trainning partner you can ask to do harass well you macro to see what happens. Repetition is the key to learning and ladder games wont always give you what your looking to learn.
The major boost I've noticed to my apm is comfortability with what I'm doing. If you know what you have to do, then things become second nature and you start to do them in the middle of a battle.
A month or two ago I would've had difficulty injecting during a fight, but now that I make sure to do that and build units I can bounce back from a so-so engagement and maintain apm via macro and micro.
All you should be focusing on is understanding what the vital points of your gameplay are (supply depots, mules, barracks/factory/starport queues and army control) and ensure that you're paying attention to all of them as much as possible.
Over time you will become more and more comfortable with it and tada, your apm increases as a result.
However, as PiG was saying, spamming helps with muscle memory which can also help your micro hugely due to your hands knowing what to do without thought.
TL;DR: The more of your gameplay you assosciate with muscle memory and subconcious thought, the faster you will play.
