Razer mice look good, but they are actually not as good as other mice like Steelseries... I want a Tt mouse but I can't get any in Hong Kong
Never heard this complaint about razer before... I know their keyboards have had build quality/driver issues, but the deathadder has been incredibly popular mouse for a long time? What's 'bad' about it?
@Maverick: won't make you play better as such. A better mouse will probably help with your mouse speed/accuracy though, and possibly help you feel less fatigued from playing for long times. But it won't just straight up make you play better.
So in essence it doesnt matter if your mouse has 600dpi or 4000dpi, doesnt really matter if it is a laser or optical / infrared mouse etc.
What about wireless vs USB? Is there actualy much lag with wireless???
there is a little lag with the bluetooth vs it plugged in. but for my gaming level (gold)i feel it makes little difference. Also my blue tooth has an annoying powersave thing so if i don't move my mouse for 10 seconds t needs a second to get back into action XD.
Also there is a huge difference in the was laser and optical read the ground, so depending on the surface you are playing on it can make a radical difference.
I have heard such good things about all the razor / steel series gear that I am doubting my good old hp keyboard and mouse.
All the pros please tell me is it worth the money to upgrade. What difference do you actually get out of them? I had a play with the deathadder in EB and yeah it felt nice and had like 3800dpi and all that jazz but will it improve my game?
Can someone tell me what it was like when they upgraded for the first time to a gaming mouse?
I think keyboard isn't as important until you start double-tapping your hotkeys and zooming around alot. A proper mouse is soooo important though! I used to play with my $5 mouse for ages and when my friends bought me a proper gaming mouse for my birthday I couldn't believe the difference! I managed to win a small cityhunter LAN not too long after this and do well in online tournies!
I admit though I can still remember how tired my left hand would get bashing away at my $10 keyboard to maintain just 160apm and when i upgraded to mechanical gaming keyboards I realised just how much easier the game was when my hand could just tap away without having to wait so long and press so hard for the messages to go through.
So yeah, you can win stuff with horribad gear like I did. Also I think Elfi uses an ancient piece of crap keyboard and took 2nd at IEM Guangzhou (he does play protoss and have 30apm though..) but if you can spare the cash the gaming gear brings a much more pleasurable experience.

My Imperator will randomly die from time to time which is annoying as shit during games... when someone pays $625 HKD for a mouse the very least thing it should do is be ON when plugged in!
I think I saw some Tt keyboards in the Wan Chai computer center on the 2nd floor, in that shop that sells the Razer gear in a display window. Inside the shop at the back was the Tt stuff but I'm not sure if they had a mouse. Surely if they stock the keyboards then they might?
Basically having a mouse that's jet black with blue neon lighting just gives you more nerd bragging points/e-penis length. (If anyone would like to hear a discussion on the concept of what an "e-penis" is, please msg me in private)
Here's an analogy, do you need a Ferrari 599 GTO to get you to and from work? Nope. A Mazda 3, or hell, even a Cherry QQ will do. But the Ferrari 599 GTO gets you to places faster, and in more style, and much more comfort. So the Razer/TT/Steelseries stuff is your Ferrari 599 GTO in the mouse world, and the Cherry QQ is your 5 dollar HP mouse. Both let you get to places, but hell, driving a Ferrari 599 GTO probably makes you feel like you've got the biggest dong in a mile radius plus some.
Ultimately if you're not a competitive player, it won't bring you from bronze league to master. It may improve your gameplay slightly, or just give you more comfort while you do what you do, but it's definitely not the most major factor in gaining you league promotions.
But if you have spare cash, or friends who are willing and generous to get you a nice present, hell, why not. Everyone could use a couple more nerd bragging points/inches.
