Really looking forward to this event, definitely think as many players should play as possible as there are so many match ups there that I want to watch
Such a good idea, I will definitely follow that if available !
For the format I would not prefer the GSTL system where a single star could overcome a lot of opponents. That's underlining the star more than the race itself.
A more classic frontal battle with 8 1c1 for example would fit more to the spirit of this clash IMO. For the fun one 2c2 or 4c4 could be made. It's probably not balanced, but as it's a fun tournament and only to sort draws (9th game), it could be entertaining.
We have a system in team 40k battles where you have the 2 captains of team A and B that select alternatively the players pairings :
Roll a dice to know if team A or B will begin selecting player. Let's say A will go first.
Each captain select secretly a member of the team that will be the secret champion
Captain A select his first defender
Captain B select one of his still available players to attack the first defender
Captain A (or the defender he chose), chose a map still available in the map pool
Captain B select his first defender
Captain A select one of his still available players to attack the first defender of B
Captain B (or the defender he chose), chose a map still available in the map pool
Proceed like that for the 6 remaining players of each team (beginning again by captain A)
At last the 2 champions are revealed and play on the last map of the Map pool
This is the system used For ETC40K and ETCFantasy (more or less world championship yearly tournament). It is the most balanced pairing system that was found after different try.
