Short Description of your stream: Streaming high masters level ladder games, custom games for practice and mess around team ladder games with TA members. ^_^
Hi guyz, im Cosmic (not to be confused with Cosmos)
I'm Grandmaster SEA, High Master NA, Zerg streaming now that I am practicing a bit more.
Trying to get into GM on NA, will probably take a while. Will stream tourneys, customs, and other random stuff.
Our Stream status on the right is now fully functional courtesy of veteris. This thread will serve as a place to add your stream to our widget, as well as to discuss all things streamer related.
How to be a successful streamer
1. Commit to your stream by being regular, active:
This is the most important part which many people fail to realise. Simply listing your stream won't get you viewers because theres so much more to watch out there. Viewers want familiarity, and to know every time they click your stream they can expect the same good stuff they are used to instead of a guy who just streams once a week - he will have no following! Be a regular, active streamer that people will be familiar with - MaFia and PiG are excellent examples of this.
2. Offer a pleasurable experience for the viewer:
You are in competition with 100s of streamers at any point of time. Why would they end up watching YOUR stream instead of someone else, like HuK, Idra, Sheth, etc. You have to offer something cool, unique to SEA or basically find a way to make your stream enjoyable in its own way.
The first step would be to spend time learning how to fine tune your stream so its the best quality possible and the viewer will enjoy the quality. The second step would be to either add commentary / interact with your viewers while playing (destiny/sheth,etc) or offer something different be it a high level gamer whom people would be interested to watch (idra/huk) or something new (playing on SEA, sc2 beta, etc).
If you are in the middle ground in terms of skill and have no intention of viewer interaction then I hate to break it to you but your stream will probably not succeed. People will just not be interested and will not watch your stream Please don't take it personally its just that there are more entertaining stuff to watch out there. Streaming has become a pretty tough and competitive market already, so don't get you expectations up and hope to become a popular streamer once your stream is added.
Summary:
To be a successful streamer it takes time and hard work (Rule 1) and that something extra too (Rule 2). However if you just wan to stream and have your friends / clan watch as well as a few random visitors who happen to click on your stream then yea, you won't be disappointed.
Q: How to be featured?
The easiest way would be to met the above two criteria. So would any "Top Player" or sc2sea caster who is proven and helps regularly in our events.
Some examples of our featured Streamers are: MaFia, Light, PiG (Top players + Regular Streamers) and Benji, HuT, System, kelly (sc2sea Casters)
