In today's ZvT meta-game, most Zerg are content with their fast hatchery opening. Generally speaking, after this, there are two approaches: 2 base with a macro-hatch, made famous by personalities like Stephano, or more eclectic styles like Nerchio's roach ling infestor composition, which employs roaches to get a third up earlier, instead of a macro hatchery.

Essentially, the Zerg meta-game in this match-up is defensive, and revolves around Hellions, working under the assumption that due to supply depot walls, bunkers, and OP marines, Zerg is not in a position to apply pressure early on. Not only that, but the assumption is, it's not beneficial to apply pressure early on -- afterall, those units are drones not made.

On this episode of Meta-Game Magic, vGAlkresh will be joining your host to discuss why this assumption is flawed, and explain how Zerg can apply pressure to the Terran based solely on his opener (rather than, say, a counter-attack that is dependant upon the Terran moving out), and why it is beneficial.

). He has a lot of other achievements under his belt, but this hardly seems the place. Personally, I'm a educational caster and coach. While NA is a far cry from SEA as far as logistics, we're both playing the same game. I study players from all realms in order to approach the meta-game from all sides.

If you're not aware of what's going on in the Starcraft scene, that's one thing, but showing your ignorance in such a distasteful way.... please be nice Regardless, we're not discussing anything. I'm bringing on some of the best EU/NA players to test him out after a game (or replay) to discuss/explain/defend his style and reasoning, so we'll let the gameplay do all of the talking.

However, ad hominem attacks aside, looking at the nuts and bolts of the topic itself -- ZvT aggression -- I can cite several Korean players, even specific tournaments and matches, where Zerg players have used techniques like a mass ling style to overwhelm 1 rax hellion openers and the like. So again, please discuss the topic, not the people casting. I'd hate to turn this thread into a list of Shaft's achievements just to make my epenis feel more secure. And nobody wants to read that.

Ive never heard of vG and the only reason I know of vVv is because they were renowned for cheating and bad manners in wc3. Also I am probably one of the least ignorant players on this forum. You are ignorant for saying Im ignorant, oh and top 25 masters is basically like a top 57 diamond player on SEA.

Nice troll. Actually, I joined this site to say "thanks" originally for someone posting a review of some of my content. I then proceeded not to post for six months, then came back because I realized the people were really friendly here.

Shaft, we get a lot of spam by one hit wonders just registering an account to advertise their stuff and never posting again. So theres kinda this homegrown anti-spam protection force that has been built up, where spammers get shot down humorously by everyone (to various degrees) before the mods inevitably close the thread. You unfortunately looked to fit that mold as you had a low post count and none of the initial posters could remember your old posts. So we aren't actually mean to outsiders at all, its just that you got viewed as a spammer and I hope you still view us as a friendly community, I would like to think we are.

As for your show, i agree exactly with what Eddie said. I'm sure players below Masters could get a lot of useful tips from this, given that only 0.02% of players are GM. It takes lots of effort and time to do and it helps players improve so it certainty doesn't deserve this amount of negativity.

I'd love to feature an SEA player. Unfortunately, I only have an NA account, and playing cross-realm is quite difficult. This means more than likely a replay-based episode, rather than my general format. I also am not familiar with very many SEA players, regretfully -- another reason I lurk here

Kelly is about the only SEA personality I was aware of for quite some time, but through her I found a couple of others. Still on the search for players that fit what I look for in either Meta-Game Magic or Zergling Round-Up. If anyone has suggestions, though, or even contact information, I'm always open to networking

I've honestly been a bit hesitant to post -- not to mention I'm the type of person who, when he has nothing to say, feels like he brought a snickers to a potluck, and thereby says nothing, so my posts are naturally few and far between -- as I wasn't sure a random guy from NA would be welcome. I actually have some history with Singaporean, Malaysian, Aussie and Kiwi gaming groups, but that's a legacy from Warcraft 3.
