Connecting before 15th May 3pm SGT / 5pm AEST will just give you an error.


You can choose from a variety of languages, and three servers - Asia, USA and Europe.

Update 2: The NA/EU servers are down till the launch time. Attempting to connect will just give you a "server maintenance" error. 15th May 3pm SGT / 5pm AEST is the designated NA server release time. Only Taiwan / Korean registered accounts can connect to the Asian server. Do NOT buy an account in that region because the languages for those specific clients are limited to Traditional Chinese and Korean.

We will be releasing Diablo 3 to everyone who has ordered from us on 15th May 5pm AEST and this will be in line with the official SEA/ANZ launch timings. This is also 15th May 12.01am UST.

So save yourself the rush and squeeze queuing up for hours and all the transportation time by buying it from SC2SEA! Play the game immediately from the comfort of your home when the game goes live.

Update 1: Blizzard has opened up D3 Client installation already worldwide. ANYONE can install the game. You do not need the key yet, just choose "activate later" when they prompt you for your key.

Your game-client version does not hinder your ability to select which regional game server you can play on. I believe the difference between the NA and and SG versions are the spelling, SG, AU, etc follow the British spelling i.e colour not color.[/spoiler]

Determining your home region: IMPORTANT

In general, players will create characters and play in their "home" region, which is determined by where they live (specifically, the country of residence registered to their Battle.net account). Source. So if you are for e.g a Norwegian studying in Griffith University in QLD and want to use the AUD currency, your best bet is to make sure your country of residence is set to Australia. And if you can't change it, make a new account and set the country of residence to the country you want.

You can download the client right now from the Battle.net website! However, you are unable to install the game until tomorrow, so you'll have all the data but not in an installed file.

Well you need access to Blizz servers to play Singleplayer so having a lock on the install until the 15th which will require an OK from Blizz isn't a big deal.. :P Not exactly sure why they have it locked in the first place though, maybe for the hype.

Yea 15th May 3pm SGT is the NA server release time. This is when we will be releasing it too to everyone who has ordered from us. So save yourself queuing up for hours and all the transportation time, play the game immediately from the comfort of your home when the game goes live.

The Asia server release time was at 12midnight SGT today. But both versions are intentionally language limited. i.e you can ONLY play in the Korean or Traditional Chinese language on your clients if you have your license activated from those regions.

Why does this sound so much more difficult then it should be?

I got school till 3:30, hoping to get my D3 Collectors Edition before I go, I was a part of the BETA so hopefully I don't have to DL the full client and I only have to update.

The beta is tiny compared to the full client. Beta was around 4GB, client it 7GB, and full game requires 15GB. You shouldnt have to dl much if you have the DVD though.....I started my install from the client this morning as I was able to. So when I get home I can get into it as soon as its open.

This is from the "Set up your D3 Account" article on the site:

Your inbox is found at the top left hand corner of the site. In addition, when your code gets send you will be notified of the message through your email as well.

This leads me to believe you'll get it at the email you signed up with when you made your SC2sea account
