Calling all ToR-ians! After a long time, it is finally here. The moment you all have been waiting for. I give you

ToR In-House Tournament

The prize? Bragging rights as the unltimate ‘ Bossman’ as well as a sc2sea shirt with the EXACT same title printed on it!

Here is what the Event Managers (well, Liam and I. Zac, Y U NO FB ) have thought up to combat skill differences,

Handicap Levels

Each league has been reviewed and we have decided the amount of Handicap Percentage of the HIGHER league players will have to play at. The table below explains better, I hope.

We will be open to suggestions on the modification of the handicap levels (cause I tried playing with a Hard AI on 50% handicap and it was a massacre). Players of the lower leagues are encouraged to play with no handicaps, especially if they are confident of their skills.

We also have not released a date and time as well as the map pool (most likely a list of current 1v1 maps as well as smome MLG and GSL maps) yet as we want to see the number of ToR-ians playing before we decide a format and how long we will need to run the tournament.

RULES:

• ABSOLUTELY no 6-10pool, Worker Rushes or some other weird crap that once reviewed is considered an exploitation of the handicap system.

  • Bunker, cannon or spine crawler rush
  • Worker rush
  • Allins involving workers
  • Proxies of anything
  • Anything else and the organisers will have to look through it
• In regards of the above, a player found doing the above will be given a warning and a replay will occur,
• Once a player has received THREE warnings, said player will have to be regrettably removed from the tournament.
• Do not BM, QQ or rage as this is all in fun and laughter (with some pride at stake :P)
• Organisers have full right to tell players how much handicap they must play at

BAM things being organised.

Persoanlly I think it will read easier if you do it from left to right. That is people look at their race on the left and follow it across and at each point it tells them what THEY need to handicap THEMSELVES. So you would need to clear all bronze/silver/gold to 0, and change plat/dia vs masters/gm to 0.

That is just my 0.02.

Handicaps are always a challenge because they skew the match so much, it not only affects units but buildings too I hear.. and even if you are terribad, if you have a GM trying to fight you when you have 1 tank up and it is 1 shotting gateway units.. just lol. It's probably something you would need to do some customs with people or varying leagues and play around with handicaps until both players feel it is appropriate level if this is the model you want to run with!

yea baldie thats why we are going to try it more, the whole idea of that is that a silver league player atleast has a chance of winning not just a top gm in the clan smashes everyone, if you get what i mean

Yeah mate no worries I totally understand what the intentions of this are and as an in-clan tourny you have the added benefit people are all mates and in theory there shouldn't be much, if any, T_T about something being unfair given it is a new idea

It would be a headf**k trying to balance it for a competitive external comp ha!

I believe the handicap changes the HP on units and most likely buildings, I'm ok with a 50% reduction to play a GM.

I could play or stream/cast it? Or I guess I could do both and just PoV my gosu play when it's my turn.
