Time of Rising Fun-Cup #1
Mixed League 2v2 Cup

Fun-Cup? wtf?
To promote clan activity, I'm starting off a series that I've labelled 'Fun Cups' (Name heavily open for discussion ).
Basically it's designed that each Fun-Cup will be some kind of 'different' type of Tournament. Think of Day 9's Funday Mondays, but in a tournament for ToR & friends~!

Time of Rising members and friends. Not a member of ToR? Sign up here and get to know us

Mixed league 2v2 Cup doesn't sound very "Fun"...
You're right! But I'm kicking this off with a simple concept, to see how we go.

Explain it, noob!
Mixed League 2v2 Cup is just what it you think it is, a 2v2 Tournament!
Except I'm adding a twist: players are randomly grouped together. Basically, players sign up as individuals, and then we group them by their divisions e.g:
A SEAL Tier 3 Player can only play with a SEAL Tier 5 Player, vice versa.
People in the middle (Tier 4) can play with other Tier 4.

But me n my friend want to play together!!!
ok ok, chill brah. Sign up in one post, with both players information. We'll see if it's viable. If you're both high rated, we may have to enforce some handicaps (50% units anyone ?)

You're using SEAL divisions? What If I'm not in SEAL?
It's just an example, once I've seen the sign ups I can better assess how to group players

OMG BUT I WANT TO WIN.
It's just for fun yo, there is no prize money. We'll keep a record of who wins each Fun-Cup though. This will allow us to retro-actively add "prizes" of some kind later.

We can probably spread the games over several days, so that people don't have to dedicate a huge chunk of time.

A set date would help but to expand on not being able to work that weekend from the 2nd to the 8th I'm working 1pm aedt till 10:30pm aedt.

Well it's exactly the same - New Zealand have daylight time at the moment, right?

So currently it is 2:48pm NSDST which is 1:48pm NZST

It's still important to know if we need to convert based off what you tell us

but heres a simple idea with timezones, look at the top right of the web page, i think thats AEST (or w/e it is) and most people can convert it to their time from there.

Well, no that wouldn't help at all. Anyway, it's all sorted now. But that NZ time is NZDST (and the Australian time is AEDT). So I can work backwards from that time, sure, but if he uses NZST then everyone is still an hour out, because the times at the top right are not the ones being used.

Yeah sorry my fault. I just have always associated 'NZST' as 'current time in NZ' - which is always the same for everyone in NZ, since we're only 1 time zone.
