So my friend needs money to go to Japan (this is the first time he gets to go on holiday due to family stuff)

And he would really like any donations

at the moment he is offering leveling service, and coaching out to anyone who wants it.

If you don't know who he is he was a former rank 16 GM protoss who took down pretty good players like idra and destiny.

He stopped playing ladder because he was bored of it, so he decided to give out FREE coaching sessions back then.
He has done it for over a year and a half.
And coached a lot of people into masters etc.

Actually you can legitimately stay in GM even if youre like mid-high diamond mmr by just burning the bonus pool.

What's the point in getting into GM if you don't have the level to get there by your own means ? Look Gosu ? But as soon as you play one game, your "trick" will be discovered and you will look ridiculous.

I honestly just don't see the point of getting someone to get you into GM.

You will obviously need to practice to get there yourself, what makes you think someone getting you there will speed up the process? What will probably happen is you will get him to do that for the bragging rights and looking cool and never touch ladder cause you can't win stuff. So you probably won't get any better. And thanks to the inactivity thing, you will get kicked out.

I only see this being of any use is if the person is already a GM player without time on his hands. Then maybe he might consider using it. But yeah, coaching is definitely a better way to go in my opinion.

EDIT: Also if this is money, coaching is by far a better means of doing so. You can get money in a legit way, and you won't have to waste soooo much time getting to GM. Of course you will be getting practice in the process and I don't think getting to GM will take too long but still. Just try charging a bit more for coaching.

EDIT2: AND I don't see how this is any different from selling your account, which is not allowed here. So yeah...

I doubt it, he's been coaching for over a year and a half
Still hasn't been featured on TL even after NagaSeaWitch and Rainbow and VileYong streamed on his channel

I know a lot of Korean pros do this for Koreans and I cannot understand why.

Why would you want to pay money to have your account ranked? Your account is a reflection of how good you are (well.......... sort of) and you don't get anything out of having it higher then before other then wasting peoples time when you start laddering on it again and it's vs people who should be destroying you.

heh, lol. Yeah anyway, get him to get himself out there more and eventually try charging for coaching. Or you could try to get him to get a part-time job. I'm fairly sure he'd get more than coaching haha.

he doesnt have a good full time job because he has to take care of his mom.

im not going to say because you should know what im saying
this is his first vacation i think (if im not mistaken)

he has had to deny multiple job offers outside of his home town just to take care of his mom
