My little 2 bedroom pad down in Kogarah (south of Sydney, 20-30 min trip by train to CBD, 20 min by car and 5-10 min walk from shops, buses and trains) is losing a housemate in the next month.

So I need to find a replacement. Place is clean, everything works, I've got a dryer and washing machine, fridge, there's a dishwasher, plenty of room - just needs someone to fill it!

Rent's 200/pw, internet costs 40/PER MONTH - if you know someone that's looking for a place to stay, let me know!

This is off-topic, but wow your Internet costs 160$ a month?? I'm only paying about 80-90$ for Singapore internet and it's inclusive of cable TV. And from what I hear the aus internet isn't v good either?

that would be about $320 a month, dippa. split between two, obviously...

so you do mean internet is $60 a month. I've never heard of a phone line costing $20 per week.

$40x4 weeks per month x2 people paying it = $320 per month. Im sure you've worked this out incorrectly...

Line rental is $30 p/m (just line rental), normal internet should be $50-$90 per month, meaning their fair share would be $25-$45 p/m, meaning between $6 - $11 per week.

Don't mean to harp on it but you sure you don't mean per month instead of per week your quoting? (you said you don't know how he got 160).

If it really means 60 per week and 20 per week for phone rental, it would come out to 80 per week combined, multiplied by about 4 weeks in a month making it 320 per month (or 160 each)

On the other hand if you had 20 line rental and 60 per month net it would make it 80 combined per month, about 40 per month each, or about 10/pw, which would make a lot more sense.

Otherwise - you're paying an insane rate for your internet and line rental.

so to clarify

rent = 200/pw
internet = 40/per month (30 for internet + 10 for line rental)
electricity = quarterly bill, split in halves
water = free
location = kogarah, 5-10 min from shops, trains, buses, gyms, 15 minutes from beach @ brighton-le-sands, 20-30 min train ride from central CBD, 20 min by car

I see alot of signs in the city which says things like:

"$100/wk rent roommate, free net free rice etc etc".

PS I have a studio in the city which i rent out for $350. So for anyone who is looking for a deal $200/wk is damn good.

of course gf's can stay over, whoever lives in the room - it's their house too. i'm only asking that they be respectful (don't trash the place) and keep it clean to a point where we don't have an infestation of mice or some shit. (the room itself doesn't have to be pristine - i'm not going in there - just enough so it doesn't cause any issues like smells or attracting rodents etc).

there's no free rice, although if i use the rice cooker and make a big batch i'll offer some to my housemate, i'm not a grinch.

the bedroom is also a master bedroom, huge warddrobe, room for a tv, desk and computer if that's what you want (can also rearrange the living room to put like a PC in there if people want). it's really quite nice.

Sounds pretty sweet man. I'll keep that in the back of my mind. Cos i'm deciding whether i move into my place or rent (tax reasons).

Just location is abit far. I like city and close proximity to city (walking distance).
