Well you guys this has been coming for a long time, as some of you guys may have known (:. Its time for ToR to shape up more as a Clan and really sharpen that edge to us as a Team and as a Clan.
And so on that happy note now onto the estblishment of....
ToR Weekly Training Sessions:
These training sessions of course won't be compulsory or anything like that, but I have been basing ideas around this for the last few months and I have spoken to many members of the Clan. I asked many members of the Clan
"What do they want from ToR and what are your goals and ambitions in Starcraft?"
And in all honesty I was very happy with what I heard. Each member has their own individual dreams and goals in achieving more in the game and establishing themselves as players and also casters. I was truly inspired by what the guys have said and I came to realise, yeah I am going to be there to support you lot ^^.
So this is how I thought this should run. For as we are advancing more as a team with each and every player developing more (Obviously not, being not laddering and getting demoted to ) we should run our practices as different levels and tiers. With a Coach(s) (Predominately ToR Members to really promote a good sense of community ) of a higher Calibre able to offer advice and feedback and really open our eyes to what we need to do to advance in our play.
Essentially these will be the players themselves (: since theres no one higher. (Spartaz) I will be around just to supervise and run the sessions for these level players.

Format of the Session:
Well when properly thinking about it I decided that not to be too excessive just to make these practice sessions, just like your any ordinary practice sessions. Just a few games with some of your Clan mates to help you aim to improve in your style of play.
So I figured to make the sessions two times a week per tier to get in a good decent amount of practice amongst Clan mates to get a few decent games going per player. On the day the coachs will be in charge of setting up matches and getting some games underway. So for the dates:
For our Bronze, Silver and Gold Tier: :
Monday 7pm AEST
Wednesday 8pm AEST
Our Platinum and Diamond Tier :
Tuesday 7 pm AEST
Saturday 6 PM or later AEST
And finally our Masters/Grandmaster Lineup (Our Developing Pro Team):
Thursday 7pm AEST
Friday night 7pm or Sunday some time depends on the commitment.
Im not fully finished with this thread, but ill do the last of the formatting in the morning guys. Just for now to get you all thinking and those members who want to be Coaches to help those members of our clan let me know (: just post down below or PM me.
This is a good step in the right direction for the development of .
I guess it has been happening on a more casual level anyway but gives us a good platform to develope in an organised / formal set up. I myself would be super keen to join in with constructive critacism of my matches that can be acheived in this enviroment.
I do belive there are pros / cons to spliting the group into tiers but we will see how it goes I guess....
My only drama is I wont be avalible on Monday nights. Any other night during the week would be fine but Monday are my squash nights so bad luck for me
And finally our Masters/Grandmaster Lineup (Our Developing Pro Team):
Thursday 7pm AEST
Sunday afternoon or sometime Saturday night xD
my only and main issue with this is the platinum and diamond tier practice on sunday. 3 weeks of every month on sunday around this time is the GPD tournament.
that is all, good work though!

I think that was to be meant to be either Saturday or Friday actually ^^

It has been a while since last competed in one because of my daughter but it had always been in Sunday. Are you sure it won't revert back to Sunday after Christmas/new years?

This guy is amazing. I went from hating seeing zerg as an opponent to actually wanting to see them after playing one game with him.
ily zula!!
So now that it comes down to it. I am going to do a small bit of tweaking to the Schedules and update the coaches.
But i figured we would kick this idea off starting Monday next week. So we can get some practice (not as though we haven't been already ^^) before the SEACL really takes off on January 19th.
Hopefully, this will develop our plays and hopefully get some promotions going that sorta thing. But overall help us improve as players I certainly need it -.- after mass demotions and mass losses.
Great news, I'm well out of practice atm from moving house, being sick and christmas, got promoted on new season but that was leftover from before i moved i reckon and will lose a great deal and possibly go back to diamond if i don't practice before laddering again. Happy to help coach if you want, but Don't know if i'll be any good at that.
This is a pro idea and I'm onboard. Can you clarify the time please - it really is AEST, not AEDT? So many people just look at what the time is for Sydney and say that's AEST -.-

I dont even know myself the difference braaaah xDDDDDD Whatever time it is in New Zealand its 2 hours before in Aussie time
So I may have missed the info somewhere but when does this start?
Also as I will miss out on the Mon session can lower league players join in on other sessions? Would love to try step my game up as much as possible and the more eyes on it the better.
I didn't catch that last post, but fortunately I noticed Spartaz talking about it in the chat so I wasn't *too* late.
Anyway, great run tonight guys (albeit a bit short for me, but as I said I was late) I'd love to continue tomorrow with people, even if it IS PD night.
My thoughts on the format:
- It was odd and I let myself get distracted by chatting too much instead of playing, and so I made a few dumb mistakes. However, I really do like the on-the-fly chat as it gives me pointed direction when I watch the replay - when Spartaz makes a comment about something, I can rewind 30 seconds and see what it was if I missed it. It gives your analysis a whole other perspective. The trick is to learn not to be distracted by it - I think for me personally, I need to ignore all chat and then read it afterwards.
Also, as a side note I'm looking for some protoss and zerg to practice micro skills with so hit me up if you can give me a hand :P

Plus more than 2 Terrans :P Hehe xD
Nah it was a decent night, thanks to all the coaches you guys were amazing Hopefully we can have another successful night tonight guys ^^
Given the amount of time and the days that we have the Practice sessions on. Im giving it a serious consideration as to what format I should change it up to guys ^^
BSG training really need some work Spart! If you want me to run it then just say but we need people to show up.
Sorry mate, the last nights one didnt run very well cause I was quite busy. You should of asked the guys about the first one we ran, was very good man.
I can help some protoss players - I used to do coaching session on stream via skype.
If you have a team vent/mumble/teamspeak, then it can make it quite a lot easier to coach group of players at a time.
It can also be successful in group situations - grab all the protoss together, and work on one particular build as a group.
Also, if you have all the Protoss working on a specific build, then at the same time, you could grab all the Zergs, with a zerg coach, to pair off and train.
The P's learn the build, the Z's get experience holding the build, etc.
Also, a good training/practice map, is the ICJUG (or PeepMode) maps. Great way to avoid having to remake games etc etc.
Can you give any advice for Terran in TvP, Kringe?
Im sure there's plenty we can help with :P
If there's a toss that needs some help next time we're all on, Kringe and I can probably go through it from both perspectives.
It's definitely the matchup I feel like I understand the best, too.
And breadfan tonnes, firstly the games i lost to terrans were because they read my play so well, scaning my army and base to see tech, next army comps eg my norm army comp is zeal archon, so u go marine few marauder ghost, next biggest thing u have to choose good engagements, protoss rely on good positions to win battles and finally pressuere do multi drops and when u push do a drop so if u lpse u still do damage
Sounds sweet Kringe... I will see you in chat! Problem is my fingers cant keep up with what my minds is telling them to do. The cons of getting old.. :P
Guys in this next coming week, I want to pay particular focus to the BSG/PD teams of the SEACL. Tonight im editing the format for the training sessions, to make it easier for me because last weeks I was like on every night at every training session :P.
But key point we have for improvement at the moment:
MACRO!!!!!
So whenever you guys are on, I should be on most nights and we can go through some games and shape up and form new systems to improve ourselves as players.
Just ask people for customs any time in the chat. At the very least you can just observe some of the higher level practice games and ask some questions. If you want to watch some TvZ come on friday night...
Well over the last week or so, our Clan Training Sessions haven't been as effective as I've wanted them to be :P Due to over commitments and SEA tournaments I have decided to change up the format of the official training sessions guys.
I would also like to add before making this announcement....
Seriously guys I have seen how hard you guys have been working towards shaping up and improving in all order to compete in the SEACL, you guys are awesome, such dedication so to all you guys and I know that we are going to be a dominant force this SEACL ;D ToR Wiiiiiniiiiing
Okay guys now to the Format, which will be implemented over this current week.
As both Tuesday and Thursday is out due to the SEACL Match Days: So I thought the current format would be appropriate.
Monday Nights: Tier 5 Practice
So I figured since its the night before the Match Day for you guys. To get some practice in would be really good. Additionally some of the Higher Tier players wouldn't mind helping out im sure with pointing out a few tips and helping out those members who ask for it (: they all good guys (Except Dan ).
Sorry its such short notice for tonight guys, but regardless there has been a decent turnout and number of players who have been actively participating with others who practice and want to improve.
Wednesday Night: Tier 4 Team "Dem Drop Bears"
Similar to the Tier 5 team. We will just spend the night dedicated to practicing with others and hopefully getting some help out from the ballers (Not to mention everyone in ToR who is a baller to me anyway ^^)
Friday Nights: Tier 3 Team "ToR A Team"
Now for you guys who are in the A Team Line up, I figured that to practice amongst your selves would be really good, getting a few games going and then commenting on each others builds. Also it would be good if you guys would allow some of those who want to observe and watch your play from the Clan, if you guys could do so that would be Saaaaawwweeeeeet . I should be here and there, around places but the organising should be on you guys as I should be a bit precoccupied with the NZ Cup.
Saturday Nights: Clan Wide Practice
Yes I know those of us who have a life (MUAHAHHAHA ) Would be out SAturday nights and enjoying time with friends and that, which im completely cool with ^_^ I on occasion leave the confines of my room (Not too often) but this is an open invitation to come along and practice with each other and so we can all help each other, despite of league race and whatever and really just shape up as a Team and as a Community.
Because we are in it to help each other out after all
The standard times apply to the practice sessions 7pm AEDT or 9pm NZST whatever its called.
Anyways guys, thank you all for all your effort your putting in, it really shows your commitment to the Clan and the ToR Community. For that guys I sincerely thank you
P.S keep sending through those emails to mine as well all.
crux won't be doing this we just practice all the time when people are online the setting up on time things for us is more when some1 wants a match gone over and we have say a 4 hour session on pvt tvp ^_^ its cool to see though defferent styles work for different people
Haha we do all the time as well mate ^^, but this is a better more effective way to develop and build on our community already. (: develops relationships between members and forms connections ^_^
I'm going to be setting up a crux session on tvp / pvt if the masters + players of ToR want to join us more than welcome spartaz itl be on the little things that are getting terrans killed atm which is why im saying masters + as the diamond - players may struggle but they are welcome to watch if wanted. It'll also help protoss get better as listed below.
From Terran point of view the outline will be going over
- Battle position (pre and what to micro in battle)
- Unit composition
- Timings (when to take a 3rd when to scout the toss, when to missile turret up)
- Map aggression (take those ******* towers)
From Protoss
- Unit composition (colos or templar?)
- How to counter the 1/1/1 (and variations)
- Scout timings (original and when to bring him back)
- Safe expanding (whats the timing on cloak banshees)
- Battle micro (before and during)
- Chronoboost (what to do with it on 2 base/3 base)
I'll be looking at doing this on a sunday/monday night most likely
