So rather than clog up the format discussions with suggestions for what to call the competition where any SEA Clan can enter, I decided to make a new thread here.

So list your suggestions and I'll comply a list, then take the most popular ones and make add a poll so that people can vote on their favourites.

Personally I want to call it the SC2SEA Open.

That's exactly what it is... Except for Tier 1 which are pro teams. Maybe SEATL? SEA Team League.

Though the L in SEACL stands for League, so it'd probably best be named like SEACC (see see see LOL).

All the other suggestions that involve a redundant word should not be considered imo. (e.g. SEA Community League Cup -_- )

I think we should have the entire sc2sea moniker in the name. afterall, it will be hosted and supported by this website - why not simply the <sponsor name> Sc2sea Clan League?

Yeah it doesnt really have that fantastic ring about it, but it has a greater probability of getting the site the exposure it deserves.

There's no sponsor atm, just include something at the end about Fritz. SC2SEA Clan Championship or Clan Cup or something, and use SEACC for short cos you don't wanna be saying SC2SEA CC all the time.

Yea like what most people have said.

The EPL is currently called

Tier 1: "Barclays Premier League"
Tier 2: "Npower championship League" (These used to be called coca cola championship leagues)
Tier 3: Npower League 1
Tier 4: Npower League 2

FA cup, "The FA Cup with Budweiser"

We could adopt a similar name structure having the sponsors name infront. I like their format as it promotes the sponsor and at the same time makes all the leagues sound prestigious. For e.g

Tier 1: "JoFritzMD SEA Premier League"
Tier 2: "sc2sea SEA Championship League"
Tier 3: "frogmite SEA League 1"
Tier 4: "maynarde SEA League 2"

Or for short,

Tier 1: SPL
Tier 2: SCL
Tier 3: SL1
Tier 4: SL2

FA cup, "JoFritzMD SEA Championship Cup" or SEACC isnt that catchy when you say it out!

It may seem weird for season 1 but season 2 could look something like this if sponsors step in.

TteSports SEA Premier League (SPL)
mWave SEA Championship League (CPL)
ACL SEA Championship League (CPL)

For those of you who wrote SEACL X, what is the L suppose to stand for (unless you meant CL to mean clan)?
Cause if it's league it seems a bit redundant to call something the SEA Clan League Cup.

I agree with Nirv on naming the tier names something like that.

Lastly I'd rather not call it a league as it isn't really a league like the other tournament is.

SEACC sounds silly when you say it out loud.

SEACO makes me think of the community open.

I don't really like any of them

JoFritzMD is a baller for making things happen, but your name is kinda tough to put next to any of those suggestions haha. I still believe "SEACL" is the best.

Maybe "JoFritz SEACL"? Is JoFritzMD a single sponsor or does he represent a larger company? That company name could go in front ez pz.

haha yeah, I don't really want my name on it because it's a terrible name for this type of thing. I'll be happy as long as this goes ahead.

However for future SEACL's with proper sponsors it should have the above suggestions of <sponsor name> <tournament name> imo.

Actually, there are two different competition, a clan league and a clan cup.
I suppose that SEACL is the best name for the clan league.
For clan cup, as many of you don't like the word "Cup", we can call it Clan Trophy/Challenge/Rumble

Also, I don't think the word Clan is necessary, as it's a side-tourney of the actual Clan League. The word Clan ruins a heap of the names imo, like SEA Cup > SEA Clan Cup.
