Hi there, would like to find out if any of you have ever encountered really bad mannered Clan/Team members in particular.
I was recently flamed by TASalvation by giving me the finger recently in ladder just because i defended his banshee and won him from there.
Not flaming the clan itself because 1 member does not mean that the entire clan is the same but to what extend do clans actually manage their team mates? is there certain guidelines or good manners that one has to follow to get accepted into a clan/team. One clear cut example is CombatEX who is famously known for his Bad manners. Despite being in grand masters and a good win/loss ratio. He can't get any sponsors or teams because of his notorious behaviour online.

Terrible advice... I have no particular beef with TA, but saying you should ignore BM because it's from a TA member, when you wouldn't ignore it if it's not is just silly.

I mean seriously. Putting on the clan tag doesn't give you free reign to BM anyone and they'll just ignore it. A lot of the BM/Trolling we see on the forums is one thing, cause we all sort of know each other, and can brush it off.

Very different to abusing opponents in random ladder games and saying they should brush it off 'cause the guys from TA, you should just know he be trollin' yo!'.

People might be having a bad day then again no reason to be BM! But people who BM others are everywhere! Think idra, think zanooku, even jinro getsfrustrated and lashes out sometimes! Just let such moments of BM pass and let them go! Even better if you know the guy is famous for being BM! Just block communications ( I did it to zanooku! ) And live life like normal! Don't fret over BMs And no, I don't think most clans have any rules on BM, probably accepts mild BM from time to time due to frustrations!

I've been bm'd on ladder by TA guys before. But then again I'm bm myself sometimes if I'm having a bad day. In general just try to ignore it and enjoy the win. Some people are terrible trolls but most of the time bm is nothing personal, just someone getting frustrated on ladder (sc2 brings out the worst in people sometimes )

Love the positive rep from pickleweasle in there.... considering how i got about 3 pages of BM him from saying how noob I am for being in TA / I would be bronze if i wasnt protoss and i didnt even speak to him besides the gl hf but he kept going even after the game lol.

Similar experiences with pickleweasel.

Anyway I am against these threads bringing what is said between two players in a private game into a public forum without any purpose other than to take things out of context and humiliate people. If you make a thread with well-known bad manner/reputation players to keep an eye on (for clans considering recruiting them, etc.) such as ZanooKu that's fine but this doesn't really contribute anything.

yeah bad experiences in CW with Nerve, they had a player Manner mules and Manner CCs in multiple games. When we request the player to stop, his clanmates blatantly supported him and said its to "ask" the opponent to leave the game.

You can't request a player to stop building CCs where they want when they want, who knows, the cockiness could one day bring you back into a game and that player will be shamed to oblivion. If he was BMing like in chat I can understand and would take action, but not this.

Well ain't this the productive thread?... most people commenting in here are adults.. and learnt to deal with petty name calling many years ago (I hope -_-).. If someone manner mules you, proxy nexus or what ever.. deal with it. its not a big deal... if someone says, you so noob.. learn to play.. etc.. deal with it.. BM is an aspect of the game to some aspect - some people use it to get a mental edge against their opposition (ala CombatEX)...

While the SC2 community upholds manner and all that good stuff - those that BM don't deserve your time.. just ignore them and build a bridge. Bringing it up in forums is just a form of finger pointing from one persons perspective... if I get 6pooled or cannon rushed and the guy doing it says they are too good for me.. and I should learn to play.. i'll bm them for awhile.. just to let them know that what they are doing does not infact take much skill. But if they then go posting saying "OHHH ChadMann told me I need to learn to play and he was really BM - what a ***" then the whole story isn't understood. And the poster themselves is being BM overall in the community by trying to denigrate my name in the community... Which takes the BM (imo) further than just 1 to 1..

HOWEVER, if someone really is a (see-you-next-tuesday) and starts racial BM or physical threats over and above what is expected when someone just rages cause they lost a stupid game... then yeah.. perhaps there is reason to say - Hey, this guy is a bit of a douche bag. (ie Zanooku/Ziek).

Anyway, this thread really doesn't solve anything and should just go quietly into oblivion.

I know, but the first two times positive rep was used to counteract it was fine, it was pretty creative, but now that guy has a bunch of positive rep for no reason with people that have an ill feeling towards something TA and express it through rep, rather than confrontation.

Oh well, this is pretty silly overall and i've been a contributor. You guys need to know what it feels like to be branded to your clan rather than seen as your own person one time though . Yes i do know shortizz

Well BM here and there is normal, I mean I'm pretty sure if you lose a game you aren't happy. But I don't like TA's response to what the thread poster said, he has a valid point and I don't see what's wrong with him posting it, there's no reason to "Minus Rep" someone just because they caught one of your teamates bming! I'm sure we all know that our teamates BM, and we should acknowledge that saying swear words when your pissed off about a game is normal LOL! I say it all the time let alone my rage quits >.>

Turns out conveying tone in text is difficult.

What is funny banter to your clan mate might be BM to some random. There's never a need to be a dick, if you're going to muck around when you lose then expect some people to be offended.

Some people have pretty specific definitions of BM depending on their community and background. Personally I don't see a problem with manner mules/nexuses etc. You choose when you're going to leave, anything before the game finishes it for you is good manner - if the 'winner' is so confident then go ahead.

On the other hand, if you offensive gg me, you're going to be wasting your time killing all my buildings. If someone said gg to me in a waterpolo game halfway through the 4th quarter, he'd probably cop a punch to the kidney.

General flaming just gets a 'lol'.

If you have a problem with someone BMing you, report them for abuse. If they're a serial offender, they're eventually going to be supporting Blizzard financially if they want to keep playing. We had a member get a 3 day ban recently for BM, and he probably deserved it.

I've never taken bad manner to heart, and it's ridiculous to pigeon-hole a whole clan because of the (not even serious) actions of one player. Even if he was serious, so what? It's the internet. If you take things personally on the internet you need to either cancel your contract with your ISP or learn to not take things personally.

This post for instance, intended as constructive. Don't take it personally. I suppose this has already essentially been said already, but I see this attitude from a lot of people and really wish it didn't exist. Besides, people bm'ing you after you win is the most hilariously face palm thing since that "women in eSports thread." Which was my first closed thread!
