An hour into the Swiftsure queue I bailed and joined Wound in the Force, the (apparent) 2nd unofficial aussie pvp server. at least until swiftsure is a little less hectic.

Reason: its pvp server.
The game WILLBe released down here (It was always gunna happen, but theres a date now! ), with Official servers (Not sure if they'll physically be here or just named for us, either way is better than what we currently have)
"Right now we are targeting March 1st, but that could change as our number one priority is making sure that customers have a great service to play on,
"For those of you who may have already imported the game, we will be investigating solutions to allow you to continue to play on a local server once they come online in March."
^^ I'm hoping that means free Character transfers to our servers when they're up.
I needed to take the Black Talon to Dromund Kaas. So I found a guy to do it with. Cool cool. Give him the "hey sup" cause I'm super manner like that. No response, but that's cool. Whatever.
So we progress through the dungeon, and end up dying to one of the bosses. I politely told him that standing in the fire means that he's going to die. Still no response. We proceed to die to the same boss three or four times. He still kept standing in it. Somehow we eventually get through it.
His PC must have been old or something because every time we died or had to make a decision I had to wait a full sixty seconds or so for him to respawn.
We wiped on the second boss like five times. I reminded him not to stand to close when she does her super move thing. He responds!
"o"
After two or three more shots, he got it down, and was running away like a pro. We'd been there for like two hours now, so I was glad to just be done.
The last boss drops a nice weapon for him t.t
At the end we decided where we wanted to get off. I selected Drumand Kaas.
He selected back to the fleet. We went back to the fleet t.t
A nice welcome back to MMO's for me ^-^
(I'm not nearly as mad as I sound bro)

hahaha I know how ya feel, when a clothy rolls on your medium gear and then proceeds to pull almost every mob in the instance :-O
Haha, I haven't had a bad experience with any groups yet.. but there was one guy who accused us of 'ninjaring' a chest from him when we killed the elites that belonged to it.. so we got blacklisted from some ultimately unimportant Republic guild because of a kid who got mad that he couldn't kill anything.
Anyway, I rolled Jekk Jekk Tar primarily because of the queue being so huge on Swiftsure and especially Harbinger.
My details
Handle: Solis
Class: Jedi Sage
Role: Healer
Level Rage: 20+
Alignment: Light-side (Will romance when given the chance though -.- I'm a sucker for a Jedi love story)
If you're ever on.. feel free to add me!

Yeah I've been waiting for swiftsure for over an hour now and I'm still only 200th in the queue.....I think I'll jump on Jek Jek Tar....means a new char tho.
I'm gunna stick it out with swiftsure, for now atleast. i like the guild idea, Would it be worth doing it now or would we be better off waiting for aus servers to open up?

Let's make a guild then! Why wait for Aus release? :P
It'd be fun playing with some of you guys
Im currently lvl 28 having fun, i was cockblocked for 4-5 hours at lvl 24 cuz of mass pvp and not upgrading gear (marauders are stupidly gear dependant) but so far so good. the daily space/pvp quests are a good way to push out XP in an hour
Question for all you playing SW:TOR, how many of you have played WoW? And of the people that have played it how would you compare the two? Do you find it does things better/worse or the same as WoW and would the transition be tough.
Trying to decide if I want to switch but I always end up comparing MMORPG's to WoW and most are lacking.

I played WoW for like five years or something, so I'm pretty familiar with it. I'm only like level 12 or something in ToR right now, so take this with a grain of salt.
Out of all the MMO's I've played, this is probably the most similar to WoW. If you don't enjoy WoW, you probably won't enjoy this game. It's very very very similar. There is very little transition if you've played WoW, you can pretty much predict what you need to do. The combat system and quests are almost identical.
The main difference is a very strong focus on story. All quests are fully voiced with cutscenes, so you find yourself much more immersed in the game. Different choices in the game change how things happen. Even in instances, the party makes choices as they go, and depending on the choices, different things happen in the instance (for example in one dungeon, the first time I did it we let a person lived and then went on to a boss. The next time we did it, we killed him, and ended up going a completely different way after and fighting a different boss.
In my opinion, out of all the WoW clones, this is the strongest that I've played. Compared to WoW, the main story and quest progression is a lot stronger. I haven't pvp'd or done endgame dungeons though, so I can't really comment on them.
But now I'm rambling, do you have any other specific questions? What did you find lacking in other titles?
Essentially the questing and dungeoning were what I had a problem with in other MMO's. Levelling is levelling, it's always going to be a grind eventually, I can handle that. I'm not a huge one for lore, I mostly skip all quest text but that could be because I have so many WoW characters. I honestly don't remember if I paid any attention to the story the first time I played through.
I suppose it would just be small differences, if it is similar as you say I think I should be safe getting it. ^_^ My main aim in WoW and subsequently all MMO's I play would be endgame raiding/dungeoning. I guess I either have to bite the bullet and buy it or wait til some of you guys hit level cap and start doing it. :P

Ah okay, if you aren't really into lore, I don't know if I'd recommend this game then. I don't know if I'd enjoy it if it wasn't for the dialogue and cutscenes. It's essentially doing what WoW has been doing for the last seven years. I find that I'm pretty much driven to play to find out what happens next.
As for endgame raiding, I doubt that right now the game has a system as fleshed out and developed as WoW, which I feel still has the strongest endgame pve stuff. If all you're looking for is endgame content, perhaps stick with WoW for now at least
Thing is I don't know if the reason I'm not interested in WoW lore is because they do it somewhat poorly or if it's repetitive. Fingers crossed I get it for Christmas and I don't have to make the choice, then I can just choose whether or not to continue subscription.
Thanks for the info

I think I want to play on Swiftsure too. Yes queue times are bad now, but when everything settles down, I'd like to be playing on the most populated server.
