I dont think so (it may have been the date they intended originally) Ive heard its March 20something (I cant remember the exact date but march 28th seems to stick for some reason) Its from a pretty reliable source (cant name them theyd get boned). These dates are tentative at the most the reason why they dont set a release date is because they arent sure they can stick to it lol

No store has put a date out (that I know of) they merely say "early 2012" which is all Blizzard has ever said, he mentioned that many people are speculating a bunch of dates ranging from January to May but none are correct as there isnt a date, keeping in mind being from City Hunter id be among the first of the "stores" that would be given a release date if had become private info

I work at EB games, and we don't have a price point OR release date in our system yet. If we did it would be all over Facebook/Eb Website/Store Merchandising. In previous years we've gotten an 8am email from Blizzard or whoever saying THIS IS THE RELEASE DATE GUYS TELL EVERYONE and then everyone goes apes***. Even as an employee I wouldn't get a collectors at a standard price, just whatever store employee discount is. SO whoever you're talking to is talking rubbish (or just wanted to get the preorder off you and resorted to dirty tactics... or really didn't know what theyr'e talking about lol)

** edit: I checked work yesterday, we DO have RRP - its $89.95 for standard, $139.95 for collectors!

I dont think this is true. 2 reasons.

1. I was JB hifis release date as late Febuary, cant remember exactly what say it said.

2 but more importantly... They are still running Beta key sweepstake and that is going until end of january http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3790198992 Simly put, they wont be running a Beta when they release the game. There will also be a couple of weeks between Beta ends and game releases, and they will mostly likely run the beta at least a week to 2 weeks minimum from the end of the sweepstakes... Logical I know... So late febuary is most likely for this game, but dont be suprised if its mid to late march either. (it is blizzard remember)

Oh and yes I have the Beta, and its pretty good, and considering I never played Diablo b4 its kinda adictive. I still not sure I like hte theme, I have never been one for Zombie movies or otherworldly things, (hate Left 4 dead etc...) But Blizzard just make impecible gameplay. And I like my Female Monk & Hunter ^^, Sexy babes

The claim says 1st Feb yet the store says 2nd. All incredibly false imo, surprised so many ppl are believers.

Some of you might have seen some headlines or a certain (obviously sarcastic) blue post that implies that we're unsteady about where Diablo III stands, and that you should temper your expectations when it comes to the next installment in the Diablo series.

As those of you in the beta have seen, the game is in good shape. Actually, I should say that the beta version of the game is in good shape. The latest full build we've been testing here in the office is in great shape.

We get a lot of sympathy from the other teams because of the long hours of crunch our design team is putting in, but the secret is that playing through the game as we do final tuning, bug fixes, and optimizations is a real joy. We always know a Blizzard game is almost ready when we have to ask members of the team to stop playing so they can get their work done. That’s definitely been the case around here.

There's a chance you can if you didn't create a new battle.net account along with the beta key, but all those, like me, who created a new account and activated it with any recent beta keys are all blocked until blizzard does their job.. Last update about the current situation was about half a day back!

Assuming that EB and other shops will have it that day, so barring the time it takes you to get to the shop and install the game, you'll have it just as fast... though the preordered downloaded one will prob unlock as soon as the clock ticks over to May 15. Then there's the issue of timezones like with the patch... is that May 15 US time??
