NEED HELP PLEASE. im having trouble installing the tw client. This is what happens. When i click the setup file for the tw version it doesn't say install or anything but the play button comes. When i click this play button, the game starts loading and it leads to my current version of starcraft which is sea. So how do i get past this? so that i can install the tw version.
Its likely you forgot to specify a new folder during the TW install and ended up installing it over your SEA client. I would recommend un-installing and reinstalling both clients again.
If you still have issues add me on skype i'll walk you through it.
From EU am i supposed to have like a 1 second delay on TW/KR server?
I have fiber optic internet and its realy fast.. All other server doesn't lag for me but korea i get this 1 second delay.. Can i fix it somehow? Im willing to try out theese proxy application u pay for per month to make it work.. Just give me some advice.
it says "there is an error reading a required file. please close all other programs and deactivate your antivirus and try again."
The cause is unknown and it affects only a minority of computers. Thankfully, the English equivalent and various solutions can be found in this thread. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/6607191971
1. Close any Blizzard programs (Agent, game launcher, and game installer).
2. Configure Windows to Show Hidden Files and Folders.
3. Navigate to the folder containing the cache directory:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
Windows Vista/7: C:\ProgramData\
4. If a Battle.net folder exists in the directory, right-click it and choose Delete.
5. If a Blizzard Entertainment folder exists in the directory, right-click it and choose Delete.
6. Relaunch the game using its normal shortcut or launcher.
Thanks for the fast reply, but it still isnt working. For my TW client I now get an error that says the same thing as the picture posted previously, and for my NA client I now get something along the line of "An internal error occured. please restart", which I looked up on battle.net on how to resolve it, which I attempted to do but the problem still remains the same.
And trying the various solutions one by one, as these are people who had the same problem as you and managed to solve them. One of them definitely will be the solution to your problem. You should be able to resolve your NA issue too after the launcher starts downloading stuff once you delete certain files. Let me know how it goes.
Hey nirvAnA I have been getting this error since the 1.5.0 patch and I just gave up until now. I've tried clean installing the client without SEA/NA on my computer. I've tried redownloading the client. The version I have now is a friends folder I copied over so I had up to patch 1.5.3. I've tried changing the variables.txt, I've tried deleting the cache as well.
Some guys who could read a little chinese said that the error said something about a network connection error?
The error message is "failure to download patch and asks you to check your internet connection".
This usually happens when you have not granted the program access through your firewall. When patches are, a pop up appears and you usually have to tick off the boxes and you may have missed this step. If you did, you usually end up getting that error.
"allow this program to connect from your home network (private)"
"allow this program to connect from your work and other networks (public)"
To manually activate the program through your firewall, go here.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall and click "Allow a program or feature through windows firewall"
And click the home/work (private) for everything that looks like SC2 / battle.net and "allow another program" and point to your TW client.
I've allowed, didn't work. I turned off my firewall (well it was off the first time) and that didn't work. I also disabled my antivirus and it still didn't work. Same error still :S
This is really strange but as its not a Taiwan account registration error but an error with the Starcraft 2 client and your computer, so you should submit a Blizzard customer support. They have more expertise and would surely be able to help you. Do let us know the solution too once they fix it!
You should include all the information such as
The error you are getting is "failure to download patch please check your internet connection". It only happens for your Taiwan client, but your SEA client works fine.
You have already
1) Deleted the Battle.net Cache Folder - You tried this already.
2) Download New Setup Files - You reintalled.
3) Temporarily Disable Security Software - You disabled it.
4) Enabled access through firewall settings - You double confirmed its allowed (The Chinese characters)
I know of a work around solution, that is to copy n paste your folder and then apply the relocaliser to it but in the long run that is not a healthy method. So I do recommend you follow it up with Blizzard support.
Also, one last solution. I doubt it will work but hey you never know because it worked for somebody who had this problem before.
Internet Explorer -> File, then make sure Work Offline isn't checked. Also check Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connection -> LAN Settings and make sure your proxy information is correct. If you don't use a proxy, make sure that everything is unchecked and hit OK. If that doesn't work, go back there and try toggling your Automatically detect settings box, then hit OK. Try the game again. If you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7, you may have to right-click the game and start it up as an administrator to get write access.
