Hi Delling, this is likely a problem with the relocalisr, i know that 2) is definitely because of it.

Please try downloading the TW client as specified in the guide, you will 100% be able to log in.

Use a relocaliser mentioned in the OP that changes the client language to english. Support for that is not offered though but that would be a step in the right direction.

I get the same window, but neither button does anything useful. One button makes the window go away, the other pops up another window that says something else, with only one button, which then goes away if I click it, and it won't continue patching.

More or less says "this is going to take a long time (15-60 mins), once it starts don't cancel it". Left button to continue, right button to close.

If you get another window with only one button after it's probably the one which says not enough free disk space; you need ~8/9 GB free for it to install the patch (just for the optimising process, you get it back afterward).

Doh! Now I have the "Language Pack Issue" with the Taiwan client. I can log on to US and SEA but not Taiwan. I changed the variables to:

localeidassets=zhTW
localeiddata=zhTW

But I still get the error.
I'll just give blizzard some time for a fix

Weird, it seems to work magically now. Might have been a system reboot that did it.

Updated the OP slightly.

The renowned R1ch from teamliquid has created a simple app that automates some of the manual renaming of variables.txt files issue caused by patch 1.5. This application allows you to switch between clients easily and also allows you to use Korean sounds on your client. You can download it from the TL link here.

Also note that the old method will no longer work as patch 1.5 has removed the Repair.exe file from your folders.
