It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Power overwhelming.... a SEA of zergs... the first to take up the challenge is none other than a familiar name who needs no further introduction from me... it is ...
Thanks for the invitation! I've just recently resumed playing and practising starcraft (now that i have a bit of free time post study), but my competitive drive is definitely back! So this tournament should be a good early measure of where i'm at, and what i need to improve on.
All the guys invited so far are the top of diamond, if not solid Masters, so it should be a tough challenge. Looking forward to the games, great to see GPD events still going strong

Yes this edition of the GPD cup is interesting with many of the participants having been promoted to . This is of course, a happy outcome but having this many at one go is also providing us an unique experience for this edition with the most discussion ongoing amongst the admins with regards to the wildcards.
Stay tuned to the announcement of the next 2 wildcards

This player has been participating actively and doing pretty well in the GPDs BUT never quite enough to make it to the finals. Will he be able to take out the heavy weights and show the potential that lies within...
Hi everyone nice to meet you I'm from India and really grateful to the tournament staff to have been given a chance to participate in this. While my other opponents may be more favored, I hope you guys will cheer for me and I'll try my best to win this and show you guys some awesome protoss bullshit >_> in it to win it . And to my opponents, you guys better pray I'm not in form on Sunday hahahahahaha

The GPD Cup is double elimination of BO3s except for the lower brackets. I cannot guarantee how long it will take. Previously it has taken as long as any other GPD opens.

Fair enough. I'll probably try prioritise playing in this so it shouldn't be a problem for you guys.
I'm sure i'll still have enough time to play in both anyway.
Sorry for the delay for announcing #3. It was a long search for a which failed. Apparently all the has gone missing or have busy schedules (or maybe the s scared them off ) It took some 3 days of discussions and asking around etc, but we are now ready to introduce...
Well thanks for the invite and I look forward to participating in this, will be fun and a cool experience. Hopefully I do decent considering my lack of practice lately but we'll see I guess. Great to see ongoing tournaments the community can play in!

Feedback as a player - given it's such a small bracket, i think lower bracket bo3 would be fairer/easily achievable.
Time is one of the bigger concerns. From other GPD cups as well, even with a relatively small bracket we would take up to 4-5 hours. And being a Sunday evening (work/school the next day), I don't want to hold people up for longer than 10-11pm AEST (11-12 am NZT) as much as possible. Will have a think about it but yeah, time is the major factor here.

walkovers in 10 minutes but since u mentioned the delay we can extend to another 10 minutes.
If you can hop on by 6.25pm AEST u can still play in the upper brackets, otherwise it will be lower brackets for u ok?

I think everyone except Kite is Master now. Future GPDs will have basically a whole new generation of superstar. Maybe Ravenflames can finally bag his 5th GPD win? Can Djvillian rise?

Thanks Swarmstika for helping me out at the end ^_^
I'll be tying up the loose ends within the few days.

GPD Opens will resume on 21st June for our 3rd season this year.
Edit : sR.Kite has been randomly picked to receive the random participant prize (please pm nem asap thxs)

As a player I think it's much more fair to do bo3's throughout the whole tournament if possible. I'm willing to sit around for that extra bit longer if it means we all as fair conditions as possible.
Though I know that having it all series played out as bo3 will take longer than usual, I believe it will be a more "exciting?" cup to be played? I mean like, it's also a bit unfair for those who get knocked out early coz they have 1 game left to play, when later in the Cup, the dude who lost will have a bo3 to play.
Just my own opinion on the bo1 lower bracket thingo
