The Australian Cyber League is proud to announce it is teaming up with powerhouses Nvidia and Gigabyte to produce a six week online StarCraft II tournament (#ACLSOS) with a $1000 prize pool - and growing! This wont be your everyday online tournament as we push to take it to the next level with live commentary and production from our Sydney studio.

The tournament will run four separate qualifiers which will each reward 1st place with a seed into the Round of 8. At the completion of the four qualifiers, the top 4 overall points earners who have not already received a seed will advance to the Round of 8. Over the course of two more weeks the top 8 will be reduced to just four and then an overall champion will be crowned. Further details below.

The prize pool will be a minimum of $300. Money earned through ad revenue and donations will be contributed back into the prize pool. If you would like to make a donation to the prize pool the easiest way to do so is to PayPal "accounts@vimme.com.au". If you put a note in your transaction we will read it out on stream (assuming it's appropriate).

The prize pool will be a split between the top 4 in the following weighting:
1st: 50%
2nd: 30%
3rd/4th: 10% each

Heyyyy.. Just a suggestion.. Have you thought about mixing up the start times to accommodate for everyone out there? Like, different days, different start times. etc...? Just to give an open playing field for everyone to sign up. Rather than them all being the same time, same day etc??

Exactly. I would love to participate but I am busy on Thursday evenings. If you could switch the times up a bit, more people can sign up

In regards to changing the date. Monday's will be taken up in the studio most likely with "All In eSports", Tuesday we stream CoD League, Wednesday is GSL, Thursday is the event and Friday is GSL.

I am happy to look into having one or multiple weeks on different days it's just you will be playing on a GSL night and I know a lot of people want to watch the Ro8 onwards and not miss that not to mention any online stream viewers.

Playing an important tournament > GSL matches. There are always VODs. I know a few people that have said they can't make Thursdays or that time is a bit early for them etc.. So if you can mix it up, It would be appreciated by a lot (Though I'm sure everyone will understand if you can't). Perhaps poll the community and see what response you get?

Also, and excuse me if its already been stated (I haven't read through everything on this) but are ACL Points awarded for this tournament? Or is it just seeding points for the online finals.

Seeding will be ACLSOS #1 > ACL 2014 Yearly. Tournament is unique so ACLSOS points do not count towards ACL Yearly points and vice versa.

2nd - 80
3/4th - 40 each
5/6th - 15 each
7/8th - 7.5 each

Stream will be on the ACLSC2 twitch account (http://www.twitch.tv/aclprosc2)
Bracket will be published at the start of the Tournament.
For Best of 1 matches, a pre determined map will be chosen for players to compete on and communicated in the bracket.
For Best of 3 matches, regular ACL veto process will occur (each player veto 2 maps and then pick a losing map)
Full rules will be put in the bracket but regular ACL rules (SEA server unless both players accept an alternative location and notify the admin etc.)
If you get asked to be streamed you do not have to accept but we appreciate your cooperation.
There will be one dedicated admin (HvGtRoy) who you will need to report scores to. While I may be online tonight I will not be recording results.

OP has been updated will all information I am explaining below.

Based on feedback we are going to bump all remaining ACLSOS rounds to a 6PM AEST start. This will now mean first round walkovers will occur at 6:15PM while second round walkovers will occur at 6:30PM. Apologies to those who are impacted by an earlier start - if you want to compete but may be a little later than 6:15PM I'll consider keeping your set alive to a certain point would just need prior communication an an ETA.

In terms of Qualifier dates they are as follows:

Qualifier 2: Thursday 11th September
Qualifier 3: Friday 19th September
Qualifier 4: Tuesday 23rd September
Round of 8: Thursday 9th October
Round of 4: Tuesday 14th October

In other exciting news the prize pool has been increased from $300 to $1,000 due to a mixture of community donations and support from Blizzard directly. We still are open to take donations throughout the remainder of the series - remembering donations go 100% into the prize pool for players.

While I do agree, I put the start time to a poll and at the time of decision it was 60% wanting a 6pm start time and 40% wanting a 7pm. So I went with the larger percentage. The remainder of qualifiers will stay at 6pm but if the Top 8/4 decide they want to play later we can maybe accommodate.

Given the big jump in prizepool, OSC points shall increase to reflect this as well

1st 260 OSC points
2nd 160 OSC points
3rd /4th 80 OSC points each
5/6th - 25 points each
7/8th - 15 points each
9-16th 10 OSC points each

This will be a major advantage to SEA players pushing or trying to maintain a spot in top 32 or top 8. So be sure to sign up!

Just to update you all. Due to a variety of reasons we will not be able to utilise our ACL Studio for the Round of 8 and Finals nights. As a result we will have Insano providing the stream with Maynarde and Zepph casting.

It has it in the Ro4 details on main thread but it is 50% for 1st 30% for 2nd and 10% for 3rd and 4th each.

Pool is finalised at end of tournament for any additional donations during finals.
