Tournament Eligibility:

You must be legitimately in the Bronze, Silver or Gold league (1v1 - SEA license) and you must be active on ladder.
For those who were PLATINUM or DIAMOND last season and are now placed in BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD, you are not allowed to participate for the next TWO to THREE weeks and are required to ladder VERY ACTIVELY. And by VERY ACTIVELY, I mean 30 THIRTY games per week (this is a standard set after some discussion with some prominent members of the community. Problem? Then it's only you who has a problem). In TWO to THREE weeks, you are required to have a MINIMUM of SIXTY games played LEGITIMATELY for consideration to play. CONSIDERATION. Playing is NOT GUARANTEED.
Winners of back to back BSG Opens are respectfully asked to not participate.
Everyone will be checked for typical smurf activity designed to keep them in a lower league.
Anyone found to be smurfing will be added to the BSG Hall of Shame so everyone can be aware of their shameful acts.

Rules

You must contact your opponent on Battle.net preferably by being in chat channel "sc2seaBSG" to play your match
You have ~15 minutes to start your Round 1 match; anybody that is not contactable after 10 minutes will be disqualified. This 10 minute timeout rule applies throughout the tournament.
You must play your main 1v1 ladder race throughout tournament.
Observers: Tournament admins or official streamers are always allowed and the only ones to observe your game
Problems/Questions: When in doubt about anything, contact an admin
Reporting Results: After the match has been played, you must report the result by pm to an admin
Disconnects: If a player disconnects, use the 'Resume from Replay' feature to continue the game. If the player has gone offline completely, inform an admin and wait 10 minutes for them to return.
Pauses: You must notify your opponent in game if you wish to pause. This pause should not exceed 5 minutes. Excessive pausing in game may lead to disqualification.
Bad Manner will not be tolerated. Anyone caught BMing will be warned. Further offenses will lead to disqualification. Any racist, hateful or excessively derogatory language may lead to removal without warning. We are a friendly group and we'd like to see it stay that way.
Replays: Should be saved at least until the following tournament. Anyone asked by admins to provide a replay who cannot do so will be disqualified.
Anyone suspected of smurfing (playing another person's account, manipulating ladder to be in a lower league) will be thoroughly investigated and if found guilty, prizes will be stripped and they will be reported to Blizzard and added to the Hall of Shame.
RANDOM players are not allowed to race pick unless an Admin has been informed a WEEK before for SELECTED matchups.

EXAMPLE 1 - Player A vs Player B - Player A did not inform an Admin and race picks. DISQUALIFIED
EXAMPLE 2 - Player A vs Player B - Player A informed an Admin and race picks. PLAY ON

If you ladder a specific race but because of Unranked 1v1s and Ranked/Unranked Teams you are now placed as RANDOM, inform an Admin at once. Having you sc2sea account filled with the correct information will make this process easier..

Round of 32 bo1 on Whirlwind LE
Round of 16 bo1 on Frost LE
Quarter Finals bo3 on Derelict Watcher TE
Semi Finals bo3 on Polar Night LE
Finals bo5/3 on Bel’Shir Vestige LE

For finals rounds that are best of 3 or 5, loser of previous game may pick any map from the following list. Maps may be repeated as many times as players wish.

Hi I'm new to the community, so sorry if some1 asked this before... do I need to be in a clan/house clan to be qualified to join the tourney? Thx.

You dont have to be in any house/clan the only requirement is ,if you havent already is to play your placement matches and if you have you and place in bronze,silver or gold you will be able to join this.
But if last season you where in plat or higher you wont be able to join.

It's also up to the discretion of the admins as well... they will have the final rulings.

New to this community - just wondering if I sign up, do the admins/hosts just invite each player into the appropriate game or do we have to figure it out ourselves somehow?

You have to set up your own games, but it's easy to find your opponent; Log in to SC2 and join group "sc2seaBSG". When the brackets go live you have to find your opponent in the chat for that group, and either you or your opponent has to set up the game and make sure all settings are right (right map, speed, etc.)

If you're not in the sc2seaBSG group chat to find your opponent you're DQd after ~10-15 minutes, so log on a bit before 8 and get in the group is safest option.

The full 32man bracket will get published on the sign up page (where it says "Join Tournament Here" at the top of this page) at about 8pm. GLHF

Awesome. Thanks. Silver is best I've done at Zerg (gold terran in WOL), so hopefully the goldies play nice lol Great idea having skill restricted events so us casual gamers dont miss out on the fun! Cheers
