I'm seriously sorry about the long, stupid delay for our next SC2 tournament. The last 6 months have been pretty good for the LoL and fighting games stuff at Arena, so SC2 took a bit of a back seat when we planned to do one near the end of the year... but noone was playing. Now HotS is back and looking pretty good so we're happy to do one again.
For real, if we get like 30+ players this will be a huge success and I can promise more in the future.
Date: Saturday, April 27, tournament will start at midday, doors should be open from ~10am
Location: Arena Internet Cafe, 264-268 Rundle Street, Adelaide SA 5000 (in between Al Fresco and Piatto)
Entry fee: $15 (spectating is free of course)
There are no league restrictions, players of any skill can join.
The tournament will be played on the South East Asian server.
Tournament format: Double Elimination, all Best of 3 (2x Bo3 for grand final)
The map pool will be: Akilon Wastes, Bel'Shir Vestige LE, Neo Planet S LE, Newkirk Precinct, Whirlwind LE
If you can find a good argument for having 7 maps (Daybreak and Star Station) we can think about it.
Each player will veto one map from the map pool and then flip a coin/rock paper scissor/decide amongst themselves for first map choice. Loser of each game picks the next map.
Other prizes will be hardware, and possibly random giveaways, etc
Other information
Players will be allowed to bring their own equipment (mouse, mousepad, keyboard, headset etc). The computers are more than capable of running StarCraft II at it's highest settings. For those that have been before, this time we will only be using the back room.
There will be at least 20 PCs dedicated to running the tournament, players will need to report their results immediately once they are finished and they will be told to either pack up for someone else to use the PC or to stay to play another game. We are aiming for as little downtime as possible, so this is imperative to the smooth running of the tournament.
If you have any inquiries please post in this thread, email me at marconofrio1@gmail.com, or message me in game at FXOfrequency.299 (NA, SEA) or 마크.954 on Korea.

I will be in Adelaide between 25th-29th. Chances are we will have at least one iM representation.
If Ash, Jak, Cam and Leigh will be there then the chances will be very high to convince the missus the let me play StarCraft instead of climbing a mountain or something.
I'll be over in Europe for these dates as i fly out on the 21st,
How ever frequency with regards to the next tournament at Arena i would like to offer some prize money for 1st place to make the stakes a little higher I wouldn't want to step on your toes or anything. just a thought.
more than happy to come out of retirement to cast spooks games

I urge you all to play. It's getting harder and harder to justify using resources to the SC2 tournaments when we can just host a LoL one and have 5x the players and money.
Don't just say "Oh, I'll play the next one", because unless this goes well, the "next one" might be a while away.

This. I've heard way too many people who are skeptical of playing. I cant personally imagine going to these and not playing, even when Im out of practice. Its too good of an experience to miss out on, especially if future SC2 lans in Adelaide are dependent on the success of this one. Arena lans have always been the most fun for me out of all the Adelaide lans, it'd suck to have less of them!
Rally your IRL friends, lads. Arena LANs are too much fun to become a rarity!

Due to changes of STFA Cup times and no longer needing to cast tomorrow night I will now be able to come to the LAN I will arrive shortly after 3pm from soccer!
I suggest getting there at 10-11ish and practicing on the monitors for a few ladder games before actually playing. It helps you adjust all your settings so you'll be good to go when the tournament actually starts. I'll be there at 10 ^_^
Anyway, it depends on when I get there. If I make it on time hell yeah I'm up for playing but otherwise I wouldn't be able to due to lateness. I'll try to make it on time, would be really fun to play and I haven't been motivated to play in a while so this LAN should get that motivation kicking back in.

Well I didn't set up a dedicated streaming thing, so if the demand is there (any Maynarde/Flamga can provide a channel that has some popularity) we can probably move one PC up stairs and do everything from there.

hi was wondering if we can get any replays/vods/casts of any of the games from this tourney?
All replays that get saved are wiped as soon as the the computers are reset, so unless someone saved theirs onto a USB, you're out of luck :P
