Got drama? It's be established that some players are just too expensive. Others are thought to be too cheap. Others have unexpectedly high values. All of this is covered in the fantasy blog here - http://www.sc2sea.com/blogs/showentry.php?e=953. Please direct any questions, concerns etc there or to me in a PM, to keep this thread as free for signups as possible.
What is fantasy SC2?
Basically, you pick a team roster of any 6 players and an anti-team roster of any 3 players in the league. As the players on your team perform well in the SEACL, you earn points. As the players on your anti-team perform well, you lose points. The person with the most points at the end of the season wins.
Why should I sign up?
Because it's free, and adds a whole other dimension of fun to spectating. It gives you a reason to care about results that you might otherwise stand neutral on, and really helps you to get to know your league. All of these things make supporting the SEA scene even more fun!
What are the prizes?
Winner gets a forum achievement. Last place gets their money back
Which tiers will have fantasy leagues running?
Only tier 1 - "S Class" (aka the pro team tier).
I'm playing in Tier 1, can I participate in the fantasy league?
Yes. I toyed with the idea that you must pick yourself if you are playing, but with the points restrictions and lack of real cash money prizes, I feel it's not really a problem for you to pick whoever the hell you want to.
How do I pick my team?
Players are assigned a preliminary fantasy score. When selecting your team, you must total the score. Your score may not exceed a value 14. When selecting your anti-team, the total may not be less than a value of 6. You must select one player on your team to serve as captain, who will serve as a tie-breaker. Captains may never be traded, even in the finals.
The list of players and their scores is below in this post, along with the entry form.
How are the preliminary scores allocated?
Players are scored based on their performance last season, down to a threshold minimum score. After the cutoff for signups, when the league begins and fantasy rosters are locked, all points will be reset for the season - all players will have 0 points and will earn points based on this season of SEACL only. Any players who did not participate last season, as well as players whose score was below the threshold, will all be given the baseline score of 1.75.
So what's different from the TL fantasy league?
First, there are some modified rules regarding trading. Read them below. At this stage there are no finals planned. If finals do happen for T1, there will be a trade period beforehand, at the end of the regular season as well. That'd be your chance to dump your players whose teams didn't make the finals and pick up players who did. There'll only be one trade window, so bad luck if all your players' teams are knocked out early!
Second, no team pick. This is about player performance only, not tipping winners.
When selecting your team, you must total all players' fantasy score. The total score may not exceed a value 14.
When selecting your anti-team, the total may not be less than a value of 6.
You must select one player on your team to serve as captain, who will serve as a tie-breaker.
Captains may never be traded, even in the finals.
You must include at least 1 player from each race in your team. A random player may count as a wild card for one race only (so you could pick 3 zerg, 2 protoss,1 random, but not 5 zerg, 1 random).
You can include any combination of races in your anti-team.
Trades
The two trade periods are planned to take place from the conclusion of the final game in week 3 until the day of the first game in week 4, and from the conclusion of the final game in week 6 until the day of the first game in week 7.
You will be allowed to trade a maximum of 2 players from your team and 1 from your anti-team per trade period. You can only trade players from your team for those with less points earned than them on the season. Trade values are cumulative - e.g. you can trade 2 players worth 3.00 each (total value 6.00), and pick up a player worth 1.00 and another worth 4.99, total value 5.99).
You cannot add a player to your anti-team who has not played a game yet. If no players in your anti-team have played a game up to the trade period, you must make an anti-team trade. If you do not make a trade, one will be made for you, and you will be assigned the highest scoring player available.

Entry Form

Player 3: Name
Player 4: Name
Player 5: Name
Player 6: Name
Indicate who you choose as captain with a (C)
Anti-Team:

Player 3: Name
Group Name:(Optional)
You can give your team a name. Since it covers your team and anti-team, I've called it a group. Best name wins a duck head. See PiG.
A scoreboard will be posted an updated regularly throughout the season. It's actually a way for me to practice my SQL databasing skills, because I'm very rusty. Please note that for this reason, mistakes may occur in the way points are calculated and displayed, and that the final standings will be confirmed at the end of the league.
Happy playing!
P.S. WTF happened to KingKong and Petraeus?!
These players are just too strong at a value of 1.75 each. The average score of SEA Power Ranked players was determined (2.98), and Pet and KingKong were adjusted to be at that average. The point of the points system isn't to determine an exact player ranking or anything - it's designed to force people to make choices between certain players, and to not be able to stack players of a certain calibre. Any difference creates interesting mixtures, which is why it's perfectly fine for the likes of glade to be further down the list than you might expect. When picks are no-brainers, fantasy isn't fun or interesting.

Myuu 4.0 behind Mafia 4.14 both over Glade at 2.67, seems legit :P
Can I just choose my team as my roster?
It goes by performance last season (with the same scoring applied). Like I said in the thread, it's not really important how the top players are split up, just so long as they are (you can still get 2-3 players from the "upper end" into your roster).
Also, quick tip: you're probably better off not stacking just the best players - you want players who will earn them bonus points (e.g. lots of ace appearances and wins, and in this format, ace won't always be played).

Can I put tgun 3 times on my Anti-Team? It's basically free points!

Too hard to pass up moonglade as a captain, such a cheap player relative to his skill (one of the reasons I couldn't pick tim, costing so much leaving me very little room for other players). Iaguz is definitely going to be played almost every week, if not every week, KingKong cost a lot but is a guaranteed win every week he isn't playing against team immunity, fenner and delete are both strong (especially for 1.75).
Anti-team was just sort of safe picks. West is simply in my anti-team to make up points -- he's going to cost me a lot :\. Edge has had no computer for an extended period of time and Dippa is terran.

As others have said, mOOnGLaDe is a bargain for his price, KingKong has been destroying people recently, delete was the best cheap Protoss, IMO. tgun is my favourite player and I think he's pretty decent at SC2 so he's my Captain. iaguz is training hard and is very good. deth to round it out, he's got a nice price.
Anti team is I don't feel Eddie can compete with the huge levels of talent here, if he's even played at all. dippa probably won't be played much and FlashToT apparently did well last time or something, but considering I don't know who he is, he's a good pick to get my anti-team over the 6 minimum.
EDIT: Okay Kez, I replaced Rossi with iaguz.

Glade is too cheap to pass up. Pets so solid atm, on his way to best in SEA. Crimson is seriously underrated, will be played every week, and I expect big things from him. Iaguz is playing 35 games a day atm, so he's going to be hard for anyone to beat. XzaM, best protoss for the amount of 'points' I can spend, apparently he has nerve issues but he's a bit of a ladder warrior and eventually that skill will transcend into tournaments.
JazBas is 2 points which was the perfect amount of me to spend to acquire such a solid player.
Team JAZBAS FIGHTING:
Player 1: Jazbas (c)
Player 2: mOOnGLaDe
Player 3: KingKong
Player 4: Delete
Player 5: Hut (from deth because I saw the light)
Player 6: tgun
I got KingKong because he is affordable and is destroying nerds left right and center right now. He is also likely to play for xG most of the time and can potentially be ace. Nv has a small lineup so jaz and glade will play every match. Glade is the ace for Nv and I think he can do better this season then the last one, especially considering hes practicing wings really hard for iem. The protoss has to be 1.75 because yang is out of practice and light is too expensive. I took delete because I know what he is capable of and have seen him in this format. tgun will be played every game for iM and is also the most expensive zerg I could afford. HuT because I realised that fray didn't have as many players as I thought. Lastly, jazbas is a beast and I want his babies (aka idc I'm a jazbas fan).
Anti-team:
Player 1: Jerry (because hes not actually in ToT's tier 1 team and everyone says West will be practicing so.)
Player 2: Edge
Player 3: Dippa
None of these players should get played or if they do I think they aren't the strongest of the bunch.
@Light Made the comment about you make more sense :P

NXZ lol no u r right Im out of practice... but last SEACL was when I came back into form so I'm hoping this can help me again...
Some guys are too cheap... -> Moonglade should cost 10 fantasy points
No what I said was meant to mean yang is out of practice and your too expensive. But I changed it so that was more clear. Also even if your out of practice, probably still the best protoss in sea.
NXZ lol no u r right Im out of practice... but last SEACL was when I came back into form so I'm hoping this can help me pick it up.

Just to clarify with the whole values thing...
If you have a team of 6 players, and you take 3 players valued at 1.75, that means your remaining 3 picks can average up to 2.91 to fit within the cap. Consider also that there is a limit to how many points can be earned in a single week, which means that realistically there can't be a 1-man team.
So if someone decides that they want to pick someone for say, 3.43, then the offset means that they can pick 1 other player at a cost of no greater than 2.39 (leaving 2.91 for the final pick) or that the other two players can both be worth up to 2.65 (glade is 2.67). I don't think it's really a concern whose name is attached where - you're still trying to build combinations of players based on an allowance. It is easier to get glade into your team than some other players, sure, but I don't think the effect is THAT big. I also think it's acceptable and makes the league interesting.
I personally don't consider glade an automatic pick because 1) his schedule might get in the way at some point throughout the season, and 2) because I think there are players who can and will gameplan for him on other weeks - he makes a fine target, and there are players out there capable of sniping him.
Quote:
Also is FlashToT a kespa player perhaps? I mean 5.33? He actually can't be used in a main team, 5.33 + 5*1.75 = 14.08.
Flash had the best fantasy average of any player last season, just marginally ahead of PiG, and the two of them were miles ahead of Mafia, who in turn flogged everyone else. How did Flash manage this? In all matches he played in, he was ace. His record as ace was 5-1. With the way players earn points, there's a lot to be said for a strong player on a more "middle of the road" team who is likely to get the ace nomination more often than not, and has a realistic shot of doing well. Especially in this format as opposed to last season - in season 3, the ace match won't necessarily always be played, so the strongest teams might only see a couple of weeks go to the ace games, whereas what we might call the weaker teams by comparison get a lot more shots at the ace.
I've created a blog post with some of this stuff. Can we please send any discussion/questions over there to clear this thread up for signups? I appreciate that most questions are brought up as part of team submissions and that I'm the main culprit, but I still think its worth getting responses to these. http://www.sc2sea.com/blogs/showentry.php?e=953

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Signups are closed! They were actually closed yesterday but I had a hectic day with work -> seacl.
Look out for scoreboards to come sometime this week!
EDIT: Any last minute team name submissions or changes, please get them through today! I'll happily accept team name changes, but once it all goes in the database I want to avoid making a million edits, so updating may take a while

I started doing this the other day to track my own score, and somehow ended up entering everyones data. I got about 30 minutes in before realising how big of a task it was going to be, so rushed through it. There are probably a lot of errors, so take it for what it's worth.
