As of today (18/10/12) it has been confirmed from multiple sources that Team SlayerS has disbanded. The relevant reddit thread (found here) has multiple confirmations from reputable sources (inc. Slasher). As well as the Korean source being found here.
A sad day for SC2 e-sports, in my opinion. BoxeR, being one of the most well-known pro-gamers in the world had "jumped ship" a few months prior to the news that the team had disbanded, somewhat foreshadowing this.
In their time they have managed to win 2 GTSL's and produced legends such as MMA.
It is widely speculated that SlayerS A-teamers, Puzzle, CoCa and Min have all switched to League of Legends. ESFI reported that CoCa, Min and Puzzle has been sneaking out of the team house to play LoL in PC Bangs. Source
I'm just thinking if these three players are get successful at LoL which they will, how many more korean SC2 players would switch. If this rumor is true?

I wouldn't say they definitely will, LoL is a completely different game. Not even close to the transition from BW to SC2.

I was just thinking extreme, but it doesnt make any sense that they will just switch to a completely new game unless they have already tried it out and can see a career in it. Again nothing is conformed so its all hypothetical
There's only bits and pieces of information out at the moment because the translations are still underway.
Interesting notes so far:
Bullying in the house
Attitudes problems to Jessica and Boxer
Rogue manager sabotaging deals with sponsors and coaxing players to leave the team and join a team he makes.
Federation teams Boycotting slayers as practice partners under pressure from their teams because they weren't in the federation.
NASL fiasco involving the boycott of the 2nd season at the behest of the federation.
Puzzle Coca, Min all have left SC2 to pursue careers in LoL
Players refused to play in the GSTL, forcing them to use a lot of b teamers.
Boxer was so disgusted with players attitudes that he left to coach T1 because he didn't want to deal with the team anymore.
Issues with Crank and him leaving the team.
Boxer spent over $100 000 of his own money running the team, Jessica and him accused of embezzling funds by the players and the manager.
Boxer was going to return with HOTS as a player from injury, but after the problems in the team he gave up.
Federation teams talking about slayers disbanding before they had
Clide was pressured into transferring to KT as a coach because of his friendship with MMA.
But in unrelated, yet just as worrying news gom tv is going to begin broadcasting LoL, so they're either going to share the resources that they have and the studio for both games or they'll go where the money is in Korea. With the massive surge in popularity of LoL in korea and the continuing slump of SC2, the writing may be on the wall for GSL. http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?...4&cid=0&kind=8

I know there are many MMA + SlayerS sympathizers and Jessica haters but I can't help but sympathise with boxer and jessica after reading the points from this perspective. Especially this part -
Boxer spent over $100 000 of his own money running the team, Jessica and him accused of embezzling funds by the players and the manager.

Its still unknown what actually happened but im pretty sure its the rogue manager and his esports bullshit brought over from the foreign world (WHICH HAPPENS ALL THE TIME) which started all the drama and discontentment in the house. and this time he really killed eports oh my god if there ever was a time where witch hunting was appropriate it would be now. find him, shame him and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Or maybe he was the saviour freeing them from queen jessica's evil rule. Nah, very very unlikely. Greedy esports "manager" + kids who got fame too fast and self entitlement issues is a recipe for disaster. I wonder if someone in eg is involved in this.
I wonder which team will pick up Jessica as their manager now?
In b4 ROOT.Jessica
Seriously though, so sad knowing that the players only want to play the game drama free and hopefully now they can with whatever future teams they end up on. Good luck to them all.

I half expect to see a few ex-SlayerS end up in Azubu... what with them having picked up a head coach and stuff lately with only Violet on the roster for now.
i had SC2sea open before midnight and was browsing /vg/ when it all came out, stayed there reading for a few hours to figure out what was going on and wait for translations. Looked back at sea (didnt refresh page lol...) and saw it wasnt there lmao.

The communities are talking. I am only one player so I don't know the details of the inside stories nor can I reveal them. But one thing I want to say is that the Coach Won I know used money from his pockets to run the team and divided the winnings of team leagues or individual leagues among the players, without spending it for operational costs of the team. During times when we did not have sponsors to bring in money for operation, it must have all been debts for him but he didn't take even 1% of the winnings. The players actually discussed and gave the team league winnings to him so that he could use that for operation costs. Someone like this, someone that makes me stay on Startale is being criticized by you people that don't know anything about him. The Startale I know trusts Coach won so much that no players have left Startale thus far. Do you think we're stupid? Stupid enough to be tricked into staying in the team by someone that you guys claim to have such a trash-like character? We are people that think there is no like Coach Won in this scene. That is why we aren't thinking about leaving him. I don't know about the thoughts of the newer players, but this is my thought and I'm very uncomfortable to see someone I respect so much being criticized over something petty like this. I wish I could be more brave and have enough power to tell you more but that is not the case. You ask is outcasting Slayer not bad then? Of course it is bad. It is. He clearly did tell us to not practice with Slayers and TSL, and he took back that order in less than a month. That was something wrong and we the players were surprised by it. But here there is a story that a lot of people don't know. Coach Won is a very well behaved gentleman and thinks that it is better for him to be criticized rather than the players. That is why he let the things of the past go after receiving the criticisms only by himself. I stayed quiet when things came up in the past, but this time I want to give him strength. I respect and trust the man that you people claim is a person with trash-like character. I feel so helpless because this is all I can say. We don't think there is anyone else out there that is like Coach Won. Please, I would be grateful if you would stop the criticisms and wait for the situation to be settled. I know Coach Won's character.

Looks like MMA might end up at EG. Offers are on hte table for him to join his buddy crank and axion (total biscuits team) but he has a previous history with EG and the slayers partnership.
Ryung is all but confirmed for Axion.
Quote:
GSL and MLG Champion Mun "MMA" Seong Won is negotiating between teams Evil Geniuses and Axiom Gaming; others seeking new contracts.
Following today's announcement that the Korean StarCraft II team Slayers will be disbanding early next month, after their final GSTL game, GameSpot has learned that player contracts will end on November 6 and that many players will be on the move.
A team executive close to the situation told GameSpot that former GSL and MLG Champion Mun "MMA" Seong Won is negotiating between teams Evil Geniuses and Axiom Gaming.
The source also said that Slayers Terran teammate Kim "Ryung" Dong Won will sign to Axiom Gaming, joining Choi "CranK" Jae Won as the second Korean player on the newly formed team by Genna Bain and John "Totalbiscuit" Bain.
"While Ryung and MMA are both still under contract, Slayers did give their departing players 30 days, prior to the end of their agreement, to seek out new opportunities," Axiom Gaming owner Genna Bain told GameSpot, regarding the potential signing.
"I have no doubts that these players have been speaking to several teams already. MMA and Ryung are great friends with CranK, but Axiom will be a small and selective team."
GameSpot approached Evil Geniuses, but the team declined to comment.
One year ago today, Evil Geniuses formed a partnership with Slayers as a Korean training facility. In May, it was announced that they would play the 2012 GSTL Season 2 together, getting to the finals, before losing to FXOpen eSports. On September 1, it was announced that the partnership would be coming to a close, with Evil Geniuses owner Alex Garfield stating, "Now is the right time for us to head our separate ways."
It is said that MMA developed a strong connection to the Evil Geniuses over the course of the partnership, with both management and players, and is his optimal choice for where to go next.
MLG Spring Championship and NASL Season 3 Runner-Up, Yang "Alicia" Joon Sik is also looking for a foreign team as his new suitor. Reports have him already in discussions with several teams, including Complexity, but that nothing has started.
"We've spoken with him, but there are no formal offers on the table," Complexity co-owner Jason Lake told GameSpot.
This is a true shame to the starcraft 2 community but this sort of thing happens all the time. its sad to say but the players will find a new teams . i hope that MMA and Ryung head to Axium. they are great to Crank and are going to be focused on a small team environment to Train the players in. i think Genna and John will take good care of them if they decide to head to Axium. but not to say EG is worse or better. i wouldnt know. i just havent really been interested in EG that much .
On a different note i hope that People Dont bash on LoL as i personaly love the game and the remark about League killing E-sports it truely isnt imo. Riot have a lot of money that they are investing into the E-Sports Scene so i think even though Some SC2 pros are going to League doesnt mean that LoL is Killing E-Sports as a whole or anything .
His passion as a manager and as a player were diminishing fast. I had hard time watching him too. He taught the players a more than ten-year period of experience inside and outside the game but the players didn't seem to appreciate that. That's when I suggested him to coach in T1 for remaining players, who may be able to fire up his passion again. After a few days of consideration, he agreed.
I'm glad Boxer has a woman who understands his problem and finds a way to get him back up on his feet
I could imagine that Boxer's practice regiment/work ethic from his BW days, combined with the common misconception of Koreans that western teams are cash-filled frat houses, could have caused some problems in the team.
With the amount of people that have problems with Jessica I'd have to imagine there's something lacking in her people management skills but I don't doubt that her and Boxer were well-meaning with the team's best interests in mind.
Because in our culture, manner is VERY important factor. Crank's manner was out of the line especially to someone like Boxer. (By the way, Crank is "Choi Jae Won" right? we don't really follow players with IDs..
And the fact that eSF ordered the teams not to practice with Slayers for a reason that they didn't boycott together is something unacceptable.
Its very interesting how Foreign scene and Korean scene have different pov in these matters. (Like Naniwa's case)
Also a lot of other factors which I forgot but yeah basically!
I cant say I am at all surprised that slayers disbanded as I was pretty much just waiting for it since boxer left. The news is still very saddening and I hope that all the players can find themselves new teams whether they continue their careers in sc2 or if they go and play LoL
slayers MMA

Big fan of MMA so hopefully he can find a good team and get back on form!
Poor MKP in that .gif!
Edit: Hopefully MMA goes to EG, that way more of my favourite players will be in the one team and this'll make things alot more convenient for me, and that's really whats important here.
MMA was offered to Team Liquid for free and TL rejected the offer. wow
And poor Genius. He joined a few months ago and entered into a shitfest. Then again did he knew abot this since there used to be a player practicing ban against SlayerS players when he was in MVP.
In other news, popcorn!

Geinus is awesome man Koreans are worshiping him atm cause this douche said a out of line joke about Jessica that involves divorce or something (He deleted it now) on playXP public forum and Genius was left some reply like "******* delete that right now ******". Such a man haha
Apparently he was being rude and even tried to mislead MMA and other players outta the team? TB's team looks like a recipe for disaster atm.
He might have done something 'bad' like that but keep in mind that someone would only do that if there were already problems in the team. Axiom (Genna's team, TB is just a sponsor) isn't in danger of Crank 'going rogue'.
I remember awhile ago there was a troll post on TL about MMA and some other slayers player causing drama over Slayers.eve something about she slept with someone and the other guy got mad(fake of course)
*Foreshadowing much* except that the matters this time are completely different and concerning different people lol
