Hello dear SC2 SEA community!

As per the title, we are organising an online 4v4 competition on the 28th of October. The entry is FREE, with a small prize pool sponsored by the organisers. (main aim is to have fun!)

As you can see, this is a team game, our intent is to promote team play so as to implant the fun factor with your friends as you join such competitions organised by us!

Hello Gamers!

Further details of the competition as well as rules and regulations will be up as the date comes near. For now, here's the primary information:

ENTRY FEE
Free

PRIZE POOL
1st - SGD$80
2nd - SGD$40
3rd - SGD$20

DATE AND TIME
28th Oct 2012, GMT 3pm (Singapore Time)

COMPETITION RULES (BASIC)
- 4 main players (Captain inclusive) and up to 2 reserves
- Players may switch their races at any point of the competition

It will be BO3 eliminations up till the finals where it will be BO5.

Map pool will be up soon! Starting map of each round will be standard, but loser gets to pick from the pool selected. (should be 5 maps)

Interesting factor we decided upon to create a dynamic effect that 1v1 wouldn't have, any player could change his/her race at any point of the competition (not when a game is in process, or during the admin's countdown)

He/she will simply inform the admin, and after the races are decided for that game, the teams may discuss for 1min before the round commences.

Think about it, gonna be pretty fun

Do you have a system to let single players show up on the day (or enter their name into a team selector before the day) and be formed into a team. It might help get more people to show up and have fun (or cause rage which can be fun in a controlled environment).

Haha sounds like a good idea but difficult to manage, it will be best that the players head down to the page and make friends and form team now, easier to arrange and manage, thanks for understanding

But if the time and space really permits on that day, we might consider... But do note we still need certain info as monetary prizes are involved

Oh player game name and code is fine

I think the guys are fine with that. It's the personal particulars bit that we are not comfortable with. We don't want to have people spamming us and stuff.

Also, we are questioning the need for information such as DOB. I have just emailed our particulars to you. I am the vice captain and main contact person for the team.

I guess it is alright to let you guys know why we are collecting details such as the DOB.

As we are setting up the eSports community (starting from Singapore) we are trying to gather details to help in our analysis on the demographics of gamers too. We are trying to find out why the scene in countries like Singapore is slower, and hopefully work out something to ignite the spirit and passion of the nerds in the region

Ok that makes sense... would the year of birth suffice? And as for mobile numbers... I am not sure how relevant it is for the overseas players. Is it ok if just my email and telephone number (already given to u) be sufficient? I assume it is for contact purposes only.

Hi, do check this out, from the way we will be planning the brackets, we will start with Deadlock Ridge.

- Round of 16 Teams will start with Deadlock Ridge.
- Round of 8 Teams will start with Fossil Quarry.
- Round of 4 Teams will start with Megatron.
- Finals or Round of 2 Teams will start with District 10.
- Every match up will be a best of 3 rounds, other than the finals, which will be a best of 5 rounds

since it's bo3 I am guessing loser's team chooses next map? So the map pool is from all the current 4v4 maps?

Depends on your location but it is Singapore time 3pm. Unfortunately, there will not be "live" streaming as it is our first event and we want to minimise hiccups. The next event will be "live" streamed! We promise!

However do lookout for the replays to be casted and posted. Casted by Ninth Legion and Flash Flamga!
