A really amazing series was played today which came down to the wire. The protoss picked up a good lead thanks to Caz, only to be stopped dead in their tracks by iaguz who took 4 straight wins. He nearly managed the all-kill until protoss captain light stepped up to save the day.
Match 2 TvZ Results:
RedArchon > Soundwave 1:0 RedArchon < iM Mafia 1:1 ToRDanO < iM Mafia 1:2 MF iaguz < iM Mafia 1:3 cRSang < iM Mafia 1:4 HavoC < iM Mafia 1:5
Zerg > Protoss 5:4
Zerg win 5:4 in an epic last game! OMG!
Final Scores 0 Wins 2 Losses (5-10) 1 Win 1 Loss (9-9) 2 Wins 0 Losses (10-5)
The event as amazing thanks largely to the great casting and the games produced. It was all in good fun and even the lesser known players were given a chance and nearly every player on the team got a go! The Captains performed their captain role well carrying their teams and so did the iM Stars who were responsible for all the All Kills. Special mention to Mother F***** iaguz who nearly performed one on team protoss!
And that concludes SC2SEA 2012 RACE WARS!!!!!! Hope everyone had fun! TUNE IN NEXT YEAR!
Congrats to the Zergies, champions of SC2SEA Race Wars 2012!!
(Achievements for every team member has been handed out!)
When: 29th September 9PM AEST Streams: 3 Streams! Various
Due the some of the captains being unable to make it and because of TGS this weekend, the date of the race wars has been changed to 9PM AEST on Saturday, the 29th of September! The teams will assemble 10 of the strongest warriors from all across SEA and they will play each other in the 3 total matchups in the game Bo9 GSTL format(ZvP, ZvT, TvP). The team with the best map score wins the tournament determining the most OP race in SEA! The games will have the same twist as last year, a caster is assigned to each team and he/she will take turns casting with the team, so you can watch the casts from two different perspectives in each round.
The winning team wins the SC2SEA Race Wars achievement. Prepare yourself for another epic race war battle and if you haven't seen the threads yet, there is still time to sign up and represent your race!

Terran team would likely be Rossi, Iaguz, dano, HuT, YoonYJ and Deth oh and Tilea assuming they all want to play...
EDIT dippa is another one
Yeah those are the ones that come to mind first, but there's room for 10 players on the team so we might see some up and coming players get some time in the spotlight.
Protoss Team Name: Undecided (The Infestor Purgers?)
Casters:Bard & Co-Caster (Bard's choice between Proann and LaughingMan, or both)
Last Protoss spot left, who do I pick?
A Guy who is super super super keen on it and have been bugging me about it everyday. Very good at killing Zergs.
Here is an example of how keen this guy is:
Quote:
You: get GM on NA ill let u play
xxx has reconnected.
You: LOL
xxx: ok
i will
give me until
tomorrow
night
i will play until i die
and hope i get gm
no joke
B This guy is invincible in PvT because of a particular strategy, and he'll be the first person to tell you it's the best strategy in the world. Don't know how keen this person is.
C A very solid player that made my gf ask "(Player's name)? What? But isn't there already Rossi?"
D One guy who was going to be unavailable to play but now is available, a bit of a brat. Very cute boy.
E One guy who should take part in the festivities because he is basically the reason this is happening at all. But somehow I think this person is a more valuable asset to the Terrans. My original Protoss idol.
F One guy who hasn't shown any interest but I really much want this guy to play, very strong player with racial identity crisis.
For those who weren't picked, everyone one of you was put into strong consideration, with many solid players that I would have love to have chosen, even over my self, missing out because of the sheer amount of Protoss talent we have available at SEA right now. Do not be disheartened, this in no way suggests xxx player is better than you, but merely that they have proven themselves more thus far in their career, in the opinion of a mere Australian-Chinaman.
I am very impressed and happy with the amount of interest shown, and talent growth of the Protoss family in SEA. We have a great future ahead of us, comrades. Everyone please stick around, show us the support of your life and be ready to be called up if one of us do not make it on the night. Enjoy the cast, the forcefields, the storms, the turtling...
We will march to Victory!!!

Very hard for me to turn down the other choices, but in the end I had to go with D:
FlashBlysk
As the most established player in the group now, welcome to the team!
It was extremely hard for me to turn down A, as he was super motivated and super keen, and his skill level is very on par with most of the guys on the team, but has not the results to back him up so far. I'd like to put Shieldz as the first reserve for Team Protoss incase anyone doesn't turn up on the day.
If not for strong PvT players on the team already, I'd definitely would have picked B, a great entertainer and undisputed Terran Face Crusher of SEA. Likewise player C just fell short, not because of skill level, but purely because of results. I don't look that much at talent, just results. Player E, being the most reasonable of them all, even directed me to pick player D. Player F, the favourite, never showed any interest in these fesitivities.
Now that the team is complete, let us look forward to crushing our foes in battle. May the spirit and feat of Roz from 2011 be with us.
All the teams are now confirmed and updated in the OP!!! Nice to see a mix of pros and new faces. Remember the match will begin tomorrow at 9PM AEST and will be tri-casted by the different team casters + captains!!!!
Match 1:

Terran 3 vote(s) of out 30 total vote(s) Change Bet

Match 3:

Showmatch: Who will win SC2SEA Race Wars 2012?
Smelly Zerg 13 vote(s) of out 30 total vote(s)
Dirty Terran 1 vote(s) of out 30 total vote(s)
Mighty Protoss 16 vote(s) of out 30 total vote(s)
Kinda shocked/pleasantly surprised by the immense confidence in Protoss when the Zerg team are sporting legendary players such as Pig and Mafia who can easily all kill us. That said, neither stands a chance against the invisible blades of Legionnaire's Dark Templars.
SC2Bets: Smelly Zerg, Dirty Terran, Mighty Protoss? Totally unbiased!
Going to be supporting Zerg, and the sympathy vote goes to Terran.. bets aren't looking too good for them. Best of luck to everyone!

Good games protoss heroes .
Sad that there was miscommunication and zergs didn't get to play and stayed up for no real reason.

Apologies to the Zerg and Terran teams, we had no idea the games would last so long and the games had to be re-scheduled till tomorrow. There was some "miscommunication" between the teams but remember this tournament is in good spirits and just for fun so please don't get angry with one another! Lets have a good time tomorrow.
The only reason Protoss lost to Zerg is because Legionnaire's Dark Templar stood against the She'na Krayhas and didn't make an appearance. No one would have stood in the way of an Legionnaire DT!
I am very happy every Protoss player on the team had a turn to show their stuff. Though not the best results, I saw very eager and passionate players ready to stand first in line against our foes. A valiant effort, but the better patch, I mean race won at the end of the day. However, that shall not be the case when the next Race Wars comes around. Keep your poise, even in defeat we stand much taller than the Zerg!
P.S: Anyone noticed the tag before the names of the All-Killer/Closer of all three series?

Turned out to be a pretty damn cool event. Best part was of course the streams.
Kudos to Bard for streaming amazingly both nights (and to blysk for joining him), to mattyb and co. for the sexy terran stream, tgun (+ frust) for the ZvP and of course Baldie+Zain for a pretty damn hilarious 2-3 hours of my life.
One thing I liked from this race wars was the race-biased casting! I thought it was quite hilarious at times, like when Bard will be praising sth the Zerg player did then catch himself and go 'no wait no Zergs suck etc'
And yes, do check out the tgun v delete(the final game of it all- ling muta v deathball. What happens?)
& tgun v Shieldz (you won't believe what goes down here) games if you haven't!
