Zardoz, the organiser of the LAN is a boss, and fully supports SC2 (even claiming his love for the fanbase above other games).
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you want to go, prepay SOON!!!!!!!!! Because of the $1000 CS:GO tourney, people are filling in FAST! SO GET GOING!!!!
Also, I'd love numbers and who's who for everyone that is going, so IXL could potentially sit everyone together away from the CS:GO and CoD kiddies, and we could have some massive communal hangout.
WE CAN ALL BAKE A CAKE FILLED WITH RAINBOWS AND SMILES AND EVERYONE WOULD EAT AND BE HAPPY
I urge all Melbourne players too be part of this, as it's always great fun and spending up to 24 hours together talking/playing games/stealing people's media!
If any player coming from interstate needs a place to stay, you can stay at mine for free
I'll be there with Tt eSPORTS PC's on STAGE for people to play on!
I'm trying to organise live casting too.. If anyone wants to cast live at the event or live from their house, please PM me!
Sick, so does that mean if people are unable to bring their own comp they'll be able to still play in the LAN or does it just depend on the day and how many people show?

How many SC2 players are expected? I looked at the players list and only recognized about a dozen SC2 players. Also since I have prepaid I don't need to worry about confirmation rounds right?
I am led to believe that we can just sit down wherever we want in the SC2 area that has (kindly) been provided for our community by Zardoz, so if you're looking for seats together with mates, etc, I suggest getting there nice and early so that you can get yourself set up!
It's gonna be a kickass weekend, I look forward to meeting a lot of you!
edit: Just counted - 42 seats for us. Nice.

Reason: counting.
Players need to arrive + setup by 11am on the Saturday.
Format will be Swiss into Double Elim finals, where top 4 have a 2nd chance, bottom 4 are dropped to the lower bracket. Same format as last time
It's byo pc. Swiss format, so we'll all be required to play at the same time.
$35 entry.
Prizepool: $350 cash prize for 1st place, $100 for 2nd and $50 for third and some products from Tt eSports.
All rounds are best of 3. Loser of first game picks 2nd map, opponent is allowed 1 veto. If a 3rd game is required, the loser of game 2 may select a map from the pool, excluding maps already played, opponent is allowed 1 veto.
Map pool you can select from: WCS Cloud Kingdom, WCS Shakuras Plateau, WCS Daybreak, Tal’Darim Altar LE, WCS Entombed Valley, WCS Ohana, WCS Anitga Shipyard

Sounds like a bit, but when you consider the event goes for 2 days, you'll play a minimum of 12 games of SC2 (More assuming you don't lose 0-2 every set), other competitions, leeching, gaming, etc. Not a bad way to spend 1-2 days.

Last time there were 25 players, but we were missing quite a few of the regular sc2sea guys. A lot of casual respawn people sign up. Might get 30-40 this time.
I don't have to pay again if I've already pre-paid and pre-registered right? >_>
Nah man, if you've pre-paid and registered, there is nothing left to do but get there and set up. Just speak to the admins when you get there, they'll tick your name off their list, and give you a shitty badge thing that no-one wears.
Do we need to book our own seats, or are those "SC2 areas" reserved for us the whole time?
The sc2 area will be for the whole time. If it fills up straight away, there will be other individual spots. If you wish you book a spot by yourself/with friends outside of the sc2 area, you can, but will need to do so on the respawn website, or just see what's available when you get there. Seats will be provided.
Anyone in the bentleigh area want to give me a lift? I would love you 5ever. Also I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to bring my PC without it dying so if anyone wants to help me out in that regards that would be amazing
The first round shall be seeded. From then on, the system shall start attempting to play winners against each other, and similarly ranked players as we progress.
Whats the competition like? Is it mainly like masters and above players who enter? This will be the first comp I've ever entered, just hope I don't get roflstomped cos i'm only in plat..

There will be a mix since respawn has a lot of casual players. The format will guarantee lots of games, and try and balance you with similar level players as it goes.

Show up and register on the day. Starcraft players need to arrive and set-up by 11 am
I'm driving directly north from Cheltenham - if anyone needs a lift and lives not too far out of the way (near moorabbin, ormond, camberwell, etc) get in contact!
Great turnout. Fun day. Lot of competitive games, quite a few unlucky not to make top 8. Those that did played some awesome series, especially ToRPezz, fighting his through the losers bracket to make the final, then taking the first series off Deth.
such a great yet long day! I will definitely be at the next one! downloaded soooooo much!
Hopefully next time the stage can actually be put to use, and we can have a spectators area. The organizer of the LAN thought that would be a good idea. hopefully we can make this bigger and better every time
They are changing the layout for the next LAN, most likely having 2 stages and moving most of the admins into where the SC2 area is, so we can actually SEE the people on stage
Yeah those were the Armor A30, I made our new PC's use those for that kind of reason.
Epsecially when I have to bring 10 PC's for a 5v5 game or something I end up needing a whole freakin truck lol.
I used 1.5 pallets for some LANs just due to the sheet size of cases.
if we aren't doing LoL/CSGO at the event, I can possibly start bringing a couple spare PC's to hire out to inter-state players.
Respawn are happy to keep fronting the same cash and might bump it up again a little soon.
