As you might have gathered from the title, I’m offering free coaching! Now, I’m not the best player out there, and I have never coached properly before (unless you consider me shouting at my friends “coaching”). However, I have been consistently high on SEA and have a decent enough understanding of the game and the metagame to help lower leagues.
Why am I doing this? This is like a trial. I want to see if I can actually coach decently. If I’m able to (and if I enjoy it), I’ll be continuing this in the future, and maybe one day I’ll start charging money. But more importantly, I want to give something back to the community ♥.
Anyway, about the lessons themselves. Firstly, I’ll only be coaching players from silver to masters (unless you can give me a really good reason otherwise). Bronze players’ problems are mostly weak mechanics and not playing enough games on the ladder. I want to be focusing on strategy, not telling you to build probes and not get supply blocked. players shouldn’t need coaching – they should have the ability to reflect on their weaknesses and improve themselves.
I want the lessons to be what you want. Everyone learns differently, so I need you to tell me how you want to be taught to make it worth your time. This could be replay analysis and discussion, instructing you in a practise game, helping you refine a build order, teaching you an opening, etc. Whatever you want, but you have to tell me first so I can prepare beforehand.
I’ll be doing this for the first 4 weekends of September (1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23). Two people each weekend at whatever time works for us. Maybe more people if I have time. So that’s a minimum of 8 people. Each lesson will be around an hour, maybe longer if it’s necessary.
If you’re interested, post below with: Name: SC2 alias + code: (eg aLtdelete.955) Skype: (you must have skype and a microphone) League: (also, protoss players only if that isn’t obvious) Matchup: (PvT, PvP, PvZ only one please) Time: (What days? What times, in AEST? If you don’t have a preference for a weekend, please mention this so you won’t clash with others who do have a preference) Additional information: (this is where you tell me how you want the lesson to be done, what you want to focus on, etc. Tell me your problems. The clearer you explain yourself here, the more efficient the lesson will be)
Well, I should also mention that I was lying when I said this is free. At the end, I’ll need you to give me some feedback, because just like how you are learning the game, I am learning to teach. This feedback doesn’t have to be too much, just a few sentences. Was it good, was it bad, what did you like, what did you dislike, was it worth your time, etc.
I’ll be using this to improve my coaching, and as testimonials if I decide to continue coaching.
Any questions? Post below.
I think I covered everything clearly. I hope I covered everything clearly.

5pm-6pm melbourne time every weekday
Additional information- Im having a lot of trouble with protoss vs protoss mu as I don't know the most effective ways to deal with certain strategies such as stargate openings with phoenix and I am looking for small ways to improve my game like when to chrono probes, when to build certain structures. I also find it hard to counter the numerous chesses that are on ladder such as double 11 gate or canon rushes behind the mineral line on daybreak. The thing that I would like to learn the most of all is the timings for certain builds when they hit and when to expand safely.

Would highly recommend this guy! His stream is always great, so I would expect his coaching to be just as good!
As someone who previously offered coaching one of my pet peeves was players who put 0 effort into "applying" for it and gave me no information on what they wanted help with. Delete is taking the time out of his day/schedule to provide a service for you, the least you can do is give him some indepth information on what you want help with and make sure that when you say your going to give him feedback that you actually do!
Hi delete sir
You might not remember me but you gave me very helpful advice in the replay advice thread maybe a month or two ago.

Time: After the 1st of September I can play pretty much every day provided I don't have practicals/labs at uni
Additional information:
Basically I am returning to 1vs1 after a hiatus. I find that my mechanics aren't particularly solid so any tips in this regard would be appreciated.
More importantly, I find that my composition, metagame knowledge and just general game sense in general are no longer at masters level. Last season I was top masters almost breaking into GM but this season I have gone literally 5-25 This kind of spurred me into action, and I want to improve all parts of my game and not just cheesy two base strats against both Z and T. In fact most of my PvZ losses came from trying to take a quick third by 8.30 but getting crushed by roach-ling aggression because A. my macro wasn't top knotch and 2. My FFs are atrocious Another problem is my late game against Z. My knowledge here is almost non existent. Sure I watch GSL and MLG and various tournaments, but when I actually play I have actually no clue of the timings I need to be aware of (e.g. hive, broodlords etc)
There are other things too and these points are simply scratching the surface of how terrible I am XD Hopefully you will be able to help me improve
Thank you!

imo delete is going to go on and become one of the greatest protoss players in sea now that he's done with HSC and has the time play. This is an amazing opportunity imo for any protoss player not to be missed, quickly apply before all the slots are taken!
Darknoob, can you give a bit more info? What do you have trouble with in PvZ? What do you normally do? Defensive macro styles? 2 base timings? Since you're in diamond, I think you have what it takes to pull off a fast third build in PvZ, but 2 base timings can be just as effective, so it's really up to you.
If you really have no idea what you want to do, send me a replay of one of your PvZ games and I'll look at it and help you improve on it if I can.
Trinion, thanks for the info, I'll be happy to help you with all of that. If you can send me a replay of how you normally take the third, I'll try and figure out what's wrong (besides bad forcefields). We can discuss the possible followups once you're on three base, and hopefully by the end you will be a really strong macro PvZ player
Thanks Bard, nirvAnA, Phoenix
Sorry to hear that Tiger, at the very least I'll still be helping out in the replay feedback thread
TAlkori, I'll be streaming the lessons (which all seem to be PvZ atm), so you could watch that or the VOD of it. If I don't get 8 players who want coaching, I guess I can do this.
Heya Delete,
I'm a little hesitant at first because my current main problem is Mechanics based (Primarily multitasking) / me being unlucky with my army positioning. But since you're better then I'll give it a shot .
Name: David SC2 alias + code: TCPLemminks.916 Skype: newbienator League: Top 25 , pushing against Top 8, around high Diamond MMR Matchup: erm...Well like I said before mechanics based so I need help with all (for example PvZ - Mid to late game transition, PvP - Dealing with people who refuse to get a natural). But I would say PvP based off my recent ladder games Time: I believe 22nd/23rd is actually a holiday for me so that would be a brilliant date . erm around late afternoon. Additional information: Ok my main gripe with my current PvP is that my mid game plan isn't very well thought out. Currently I'm mostly double roboing off an early expand or SG play (leaves me vulnerable to early attacks) or DT's into Chargelot Archon (problems with the mid to late game transition). Recent ladder games tell me I've been having trouble with Early - Mid game attacks that hit after I expand (and I'm sure I should be defending them) and general macro (I keep forgetting about pylons after warp ins).
But learning how to form a general Mid-game plan and having a few more builds up my sleeve would be nice. Also knowing about general timings so that i can aim to hit them would be nice.
P.S. I'm not cheating on you Stallion, you never called

Hey Delete,
I'm pretty interested in this so if there's still space count me in Name: Mark SC2 alias + code: iridium.427 Skype: mark.passarello League: Matchup: PvT Time: Any time (weekends) Additional information: I'm not great :P. I'm not terrible, but especially in Pvt match-ups I struggle to macro as well as the Terran. Basically I'm looking to seriously improve my macro skills, so being able to get more resources, how much production I should have, when i should get a third base, when to move out, how to deal with two pronged attacks (drops from behind and frontal attacks), and ways of reading into the strategies that are being used against me. By the time I have maybe one colossus, several stalkers etc, I've found that I'm already really vulnerable to huge mmm + viking armies. In most of my match-ups I usually get a little lost after I'm meant to get a third base. I'm never sure of what I should build.
I also have a pretty big problem with keeping up production during a battle, as well as rebuilding an army after I've lost one. Need to also learn some new strategies for fast/foolproof expansions against Terran.
Another random problem I've had a few times is holding early marine rushes! These always have me stumped.
still a few slots for applications, please do it soon so i can organise the times
Thanks iridium and lemminks, should be no problems here.
revenge, you could watch when i coach from the protoss perspective, but tbh i think you just need to watch some zerg streams or replays or casts and copy what the pros do. No more of this baneling/nydus business.
stallion, you're at the level that we discuss strategy as equals

Guys, I watched this guy play live at the CityHunter LAN, I suggest taking on this opportunity if you can, he took out Mafia, if that means anything about his skill level.

Okay, no more applications I guess. I think the easiest way to organise when to start the lesson is to just be on the skype sometime around 12pm and figure it out from there. I have no idea how long lessons will be, hopefully about an hour.

On Sunday the second I'll need it to be an evening as I will be running the bridge to brisbane in the morning and compulsory fathers day stuff in the late-morning/early arvo.

okay, that shouldn't be a problem, we'll figure it out on the day I guess

Additional information: I'm a Protoss who struggles in the PvZ match up because I can't take a third base. This is especially true if the zerg is going stepano-style roach, I end up falling behind in econamy and eventually losing to the stream of roach-ling. I would really love it if you had time to just run through a way I could modify my build or army composition that might give me a better chance holding the roaches and getting a 3rd. Thanks heaps. If I'm too late then no problem!

Hey delete,
I just noticed I've been put into the slot on Saturday evening. I actually have a chemistry midsem test tomorrow from 4:30 to around 6 and I will be going to a friend's place for dinner and some drinks so I won't be back home until quite late. Could I possibly reschedule with someone please?
Sorry for the late notice, I didn't realise I was in Saturday until now!
