Introducing the Leifeng Cup - $100 + OSC points Daily !!!
Introducing Daily Leifeng Cups!!!
Leifeng Cups are a series of daily $100 online cups organized and casted by Invictus Gaming coach Edison and sponsored by iloveoov16. The purpose of the cup is to raise the skill level of Chinese players by competing with Korean players on a regular basis. The cup will be streamed every day at 8pm KST (10pm AEDT) on DouyuTV for at least 3 months.
iG.Edison has extended an invitation to SEA players to participate in his tournaments, in a strong showing of unity following the merging of SEA + China for online regional tournaments. This merger has a 75% popular vote amongst sc2sea regulars! Continued good will, competitive rivarly and development between the regions players will likely see this grow. So we shall offer them some OSC points to the prizepool to show our commitment to welcoming China and other tournaments into the fold. However since this isn't a SEA run tournament per se, and occurs daily, a smaller amount will be available. The Leifeng Cup will only give points Tues-Sat to avoid clashing with long standing SEA Cups.

Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series
The Leifeng Cup is a partnered tournament of the Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series (OSC). The OSC is the Oceanic, South East Asian, North American and Chinese regional championship, which follows a yearly season format, where players earn points for placing in all partnered tournaments.
The top 32 players ranked via the OSC Player Leader board at the end of the season are then invited to play in the 2 day minimum $5000+ Grand Finale to determine the yearly champion! OSC World Rankings were established in December 2012.
In 2014 OSC partnered tournaments gave away $29691 combined prizepool, ($ bounties, Terran Bonus initiative, Invitationals, and LAN events were not included in this!), we had 155 completed partnered tournaments (up from 77 last year, which equates to 100% growth), and saw 358 individual players with points earned (up from 138 in 2013 = 159% growth)
You can show your support towards OSC, and help us put on events for the community for just $8 USD per month! One less chocolate bar/One less beer at the pub/a couple less songs on iTunes, etc, and the money goes towards supporting the scene It's quite common place for players/casters to have a subscription option on twitch tv (which isn't an option for us), and we feel we have much more to give back in terms of entertainment, competition and rewards. Subscribers are also another way we can potentially market ourselves to prospective sponsors, which in turn will result in further growth.
We also provided supporters with bonuses such as event replay packs, and chance to win 1 hour of coaching from top tier players.
OSC Sponsors!
Without these companies contributing to our tournament it's fair to say the prizepool would be far smaller. But it's not just about the $'s. All these companies have a long history of supporting Starcraft 2 and esports in SEA. They care about the scene and our community. So many thanks to them all! If you esports fans, players etc can send them some love and thanks for supporting SC2 + the Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series it would be appreciated in return. They all are leaders in their industry, so if it comes down to a choice between brands, pick these guys who support esports!

With the catch phrase "Energizing The Game", PSISTORM GAMING, founded on the 27th of August, 2014, is a primarily Starcraft 2 organization composed of players who believe in good mannered play, enthusiastic sportsmanship, and above all, a love for the game. Originally part of KJ clan from karljay.com which has existed for over a decade from the days of BroodWar, the team has been rebranded as a new organization with sponsorship and big plans. The organization has hosted special showmatches with INcontroL, Hendralisk and EnDerr, as well casual tournaments with a significant prize pool for amateurs.
The team has grown to have 4 pro, 2 academy Grand Master players with all but 1 from the USA. The casual team consists of many players who organize tournaments, leagues and other events, being active differently with casting, writing articles, and other contributions. The also recently picked up our own local hero EnDerr! Be sure to give them a follow on twitter to stay up to date with all news and results.
Silicon Sports are a Melbourne based company, responsible for the succesful Melbourne Barcrafts. They also have a quality SC2 team and academy, plus a dedicated casting team. They also do a lot of work in the DOTA community.

i think thats silly to say Alo , The better the opponent is the more you see where your actually making mistakes and getting the chance to play a top Kr/Cn player is amazing practice. You DONT have to be top 8 Kr master to play in it
Playing top level players in a tournament situation, where money is on the line is a fantastic way to improve, or have a breakout performance. There are a lot of top teir koreans in these cups so far, but some of the Chinese guys have also taken out a daily. No reason a PiG or iaguz couldn't do the same. Plus SEA bounties will still be on offer for extra incentive.
There isn't a huge amount of points on offer on purpose. Given that these are daily we should see a variety of players gaining points, building our database and awareness.
playing people 100 times better then you doesn't help you improve, sign up still but getting crushed by someone that is just doing complete safe builds is not going to help you improve. still lower people should sign up because I would like to get lucky and have a easy bracket thanks .
I think it is a good opportunity at least for pushing the limits of our better players especially in tournament settings, and in a way, 'practising' with higher level players on a more regular basis. Eddie mentioned players such as PiG and iaguz would benefit from this but I'm sure there are more players who will also benefit from this experience.

Is there an english cast for this? Perhaps SEAcraftTV and Invictus Gaming can work something out. Of course we wouldn't be able to cast every single day....Gonna talk to Edison to see what I can work out.

I dont know.
Cool, the more people who watch the better. Win-Win
It seems the Chinese admins indicate walkovers as 1-0.
So far not that many SEA guys playing. Daylight Savings in Australia might make it a bit harder for some now too. I think i've seen DemiLove, Blysk + Lobo play so far.
Yesterday Blysk beat TerrOrPrime 2-0 and DemiLove beat Ragnarok 2-1
After a brief stint playing on the Chinese server, Leifeng Cups will be returning to the korean server as of today.
So far i think only Lobo, DemiLove, Blysk, and Alopex have taken up the challenge, would be good to see a few more SEA guys try out. Good practice + a possible way to get bounties $
Either one of the above. Yet to reply about NA Master but I don't think it'll be allowed because he has always been emphasising about being KR Master to maintain the play level of the tournament.
The Leifeng Cup is back for 2015 and giving out OSC points again.
This year however, points will only be given out Tues-Saturday, to avoid clashing with long standing SEA tournaments.
For those wondering about the intermittent, and lack of recent cups, the Chinese guys have been planning, and are now in America to compete in WCS Premier league. Good luck to our friends, Jim, XiGua, MacSed + iAsonu.
First I want to apologize to the fans who continue to support Leifeng Cup. Due to the busy traveling recently (WCS, iG-Prime in Proleague), there has been a month's absence of Leifeng Cup SC2 events (I believe there's a HotS series as well)
After some preparation and several change in schedule, I finally decided that this monthly final will be held on Sunday July 5th at 6pm (Chinese time), After the final, Leifeng Cup dailies will be continued as scheduled.
