With today being the first day of Season 8, I thought I would ask the question how did you place after your placement match?

Are you happy with your placements? Any surprises? Thought this would be a good opportunity for some discussion!

Personally I am about to do my own, would be very happy with diamond but think I will be platinum still.

Well I've just made my way back to the SEA server where I am going to stay. I actually have not done any 1v1's till yesterday. I have 3 more placement matches to go ^_^

Game 1 ~ Two rax pressure Zerg went for like some awkward Zergling speed Allin with roaches and Banes at like 12 minutes off 1 base? Lol
Game 2 ~ Two rax pressure against 1 gate FEing Toss. Kill off nexus get two bunkers down. Then proceeds to place 4 more gateways down without any warp-gate technology. Then I just hit with two medivacts and a handful of M&M ^_^

Yay for playing bronze players.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose in the single placement, the ladder already knows what league its going to put you in.

It's the hardest promotion to get mate (apart from to GM), don't give up! I started in Bronze last season and finished in Platinum with an MMR against Diamonds.. Just got to commit to the game

The plat terran I versed sent uncloaked banshees in at 8 minutes as his only attack, so the placement match was easy

Beat GMs in lock on SEA, still after beating a master for my placement; Had solid but not insane run during lock on NA, got after failing an all in and losing my placement match

Placed into silver just as previous season.

Was Bronze for throughout the entire season of season 7 because I was switching race from Terran to Zerg (hence the demotion at first...). But now steady as Zerg for Silver. > Was beating most of my bronze opponents anyway (8/10)

ok i have been playing on the NA server a lil bit as the skill gap is smaller because more people and i somehow got placed Diamond 3v3 plat 4v4 and plat 2v2 and silver 1v1 lol thats a tad weird.... at least i can make some Yanks rage when i suck at 3v3 as terran in diamond

They put me into gold even though they really like me facing only platinums and diamonds. Blizzards MMR system is screwy sometimes I think. Or perhaps there are too many platinum players?

it does seem screwy for sure, I generally face plat/diamond with a mix of golds. I feel they're placements kind of have to do with how flooded a certain division is and can generally lead to late promotions etc.
